  • This BMW 330d took some heavy foot prints when it was vandalised for no reason other than being parked in the wrong place, at the wrong time
    Both 1/4 panels and both rear doors had substantial damage, our customer loved his car and didnt want to go through the insurance and possible lose the car as a write off so he made the call to us.
    In this video im concentrating on the passenger rear 1/4 panel, showing you how a dent like this is carefully repaired using the Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) techniques
    🙌🏼
    In the next few weeks i jope yo bring you the second part where i show you how i repair the drivers side, using other PDR techniques
    💥
    After these videos there will be a more indepth video of all the repairs too
    Paintless Dent Removal or PDR is a method of removing minor dings and dents from the vehicle bodywork without the need for filler and paintwork. This is a highly skilled process in which the dent(s) is massaged from the rear of the panel or sometimes from the front using glue pulling methods.

    greatt work does the metal retain its strngth. i know there's shrinking on bare metal to remove tinning. does that happen here as well?

    • @dentremover01
      @dentremover01  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you 🙏 I think in this case, it would be fine as the shape of the panel with all the bodylines and curves it will hold its self together and the bodylines will tighten the panel up. The other side was similar but you’ll see in the next video how springy/weak that panel is. But again it tightens up with work
      Thanks Martin

    Hi Martin, I have watched several of your videos and impressed at how large a dent you can get pulled back out so perfectly! I’m curious about how you charge for repairs. By the hour, or dent, or how. By the hour would get pretty expensive pretty quickly I would think. I do body work restoration primarily on classic vehicles and some times one will come to me with a small dent in an original panel and paint, which is a shame to have to body work and repaint it. How heavy of gauge of metal can be done by PDR?

    • @dentremover01
      @dentremover01  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi Dan.
      Tricky question
      So on normal dents it’s simple to price. Using my software I add factors such as size, depth, crease/round, bodyline/flat. Open access or glue pull and type of metal the panel is
      This gives me a set price
      On bigger stuff I can either go through the above but it will cost a fortune or I can repair as a day rate of around 600+vat a day
      It all
      Depends on the damage needing fixing

    • @dansautorestoration
      @dansautorestoration 2 місяці тому +1

      @@dentremover01 thanks Martin. I have never seen the kind of cost that was involved with PDR.

    • @dentremover01
      @dentremover01  2 місяці тому +1

      @dansautorestoration to be fair the price can vary depending on the tech and location. In the USA there’s companies charging 10-20k for a dent repair through the insurance. I’d say that’s likely impossible to get that in the UK
      Maybe a few grand for a PDR though the insurance for a single dent repair. Hail is a different ballgame and it’s easy to price a car up for 5k and a lot more
      But the value of the repair is there because of the “magic” repair method and keeping the cars value from not repainting etc
      Hope this makes sense
