Going to look at one this weekend..need a small and cheap to run car for getting to work and home again, shops etc....no long distances or motorways really....just a wee runaround..i think they would be ideal for that.
Just sold mine today, absolute nightmare. If you’re reading this and thinking of buying one. Don’t! Had so many problems and the amount of stress and anticipation for anything like uphill roads, getting up to speed for joining a roundabout or driving on the motorway is crazy. A car this slow is dangerous to drive. Glad to see it gone!
I’ve got this car and it’s doing wonders for me. Owned it 3 years now. Just go in lower gear and put your foot down. Don’t put it down as a bad car for your bad driving lol
Nice review. I have this car and it's ok. No real problems until I hit the motorway or go uphill. You need to anticipate everything so you can keep speed up and not let other road users down by being slow. The noise can be a factor as well. My friend got one as well and asked me to take a look at it as he didn't realise the noise was going to be so bad.. even starting the car up sounds like something's wrong :) All in all, a nice little car at a decent price. I paid £9400 for mine.
There's plenty of better alternatives. I have a 19 plate Honda Jazz and I'm getting an average of high 50's mpg. It's got amazing space for people and luggage and drives nicely and built to last. Only 1 criticism, not much low speed torque, but 6 speed box v slick.
I currently own this car in green as a first car and cant fault it..as long as you give it more gas to make up for petrol + 1L you'll be fine..i got this from 0 to 30mph within seconds (so idk where the 18 seconds is from? my dads ford ranger is quicker than that...) but of course, after around 50 it starts to struggle OBVIOUSLY lol. it definitely has body roll though, once went around a roundabout near my house and kept tight to the roundabout because i only just passed and at one point i felt a wheel come off floor lmao no joke. "oh its 1L its so slowwwwww" its not...and because its 1L it does really well on fuel...Since buying the car with half a tank its still above the last bar and i've owned it weeks..been 120 miles.
The Corsa is a nice car to drive and I occasionally cover 300 miles with no problem but I have the 1.4 16V SXI. I think this would suit me for everyday driving but on my longer motorway journeys I think this would struggle and after the 1.4 I think this would be a step down too far for me.
I'm sorry, but 18.2 seconds to 60 is unacceptably slow by modern standards. Most vans can do better for crying out loud. With an engine that poor it's hard to justify buying this. Just about every 1-litre car out there is equally cheap, if not cheaper, to buy and run, but most can get to 60 in less than a day!

I second that👍🏻. Currently in the process of sorting a new car

This car is fine! Power is poor but is okay if you’re careful
Hi there,
How many revs does this car need to go uphill reverse? I'm struggling to go uphill reverse in this, it keeps rolling forwards.
Thanks

Hi there,

What on average do you get on MPG?
I have the 2013 ecoflex s and mine is pretty quick really maybe cause I got it up to 100 BHP but even before that it is ok
robert jobling how did you get it to 100bhp
Omitted to mention the day to day economy!

It's was the slowest accelerating car you could buy in 2010-2014.... So by very definition it is slow.

I've got a 2011 1.0 s model it's slow and boring, but I got 500 miles out of a full tank.
I can only get 50 out of a full tank averaging about 30mpg
so is a 1.0L ecoflex not acceptable for motorways?
Its absolutely fine
I've been on motorways left right and centre in mine
It's fine just not all that quick and engine makes a bit of noise getting up to 70mph
