Oh wow, I just noticed during the chorus at the end of the song, they switch from singing "Good Morning" to "Guten Morgen" (Good morning in German).
I heard it on the radio just now for the umpteenth time, and noticed it for the first time. Sehr schön!

The bass in this song is so beautiful!
It’s amazing how engineers/producers in the past worked with bleed. The orchestral section has audible metronomes and sound cues in it, and you’d never know listening to the original recording but that’s something you’d be crucified to ask for in a modern city studio.
I think the lack of bleed from other instruments and lack of bands playing in real spaces makes the music bland and boring.

Edit: which leads me to think that Pepper was conceived as a way of liberating the Beatles from their 'expected image' so they could do what they wanted.. and continued doing so on the White album. Damn people's expectations.

Quite amazing that the drums only track has been blocked. I could understand the vocals or just the full backing track, but I even heard from a different video of a musical box cover of a Beatles song being blocked too. Pretty crazy. Many thanks for the re-upload and possible sound upgrade!

@@DLD2Music Yes, you should check out the pictures of the day Paul recorded this solo, he used the Casino, not the Esquire.
So on the harmony track, is George (John? idk, the lowest line) holding/sliding those notes himself or is it 'melting' like that thru the blend of reverb and phasing? It sounds like manual (vocal) phrasing to me but I can't tell if it's an illusion of the effects altogether...
Also the German singing starts way earlier than I realised, and DAT BASS LINE from Paul!!!!!

The drums are blocked. I wonder if it's because on the 2017 remix they doubled up the drums by flying in the drums from later in the song and this is PROOF of the dickery they pulled. If Giles was a competent remixer he wouldn't need to fly in extra drums. There was NO need to double up the drums. Everyone's home-brew remix is infinitely better than the 2017 remix.
