A brief overview of Guenon's work of the same name. Music - "Preliator" by Globus Intro Wind Sound by nathanolson Follow me on Facebook: www.facebook.c...
Thank you for this channel Flavius! I recently re-immersed myself into Traditionalist School and the work of René Guénon, great criticism of the degeneracy of the modern world and truly prophetic for our times. Thanks for dedicating your channel to these topics, please make more videos, also with commentary! Maybe a deeper introduction to Traditionalist thought?
Thank you very much for the kind words. I will be making more videos on Rene Guenon and the Traditionalist School and on other topics as well. And since everyone is asking for more commentaries, then I will try to make some more of those as well.
I think changes in society have been happening much more quickly in the last century or so. Whereas in the past an age gap of say 30 years between parent and child would result in little change in world view, the gap of 30 years today is more like 100 years with young people often unable to listen to or understand their elders.
Time supposedly flows faster and faster as it reaches the end of the Kali Yuga. Guenon speaks about this. And if we want to view it from a more sociological point of view, we are exposed to much more information than any other generation in history. This makes us easier to both educate and indoctrinate.
@@flavius5303 I look back on my education and see so much liberal agenda. History was pure indoctrination and when I realised that, I couldn't persue it.
@@isoldesinclair2359 Learning history at school was quite fun for me. I grew up in an East European country and so I was spared most of the postmodern leftist nonsense. The Western universities I attended afterwards, on the other hand, had a very liberal atmosphere. It wasn't even the staff that was the main issue. For me, it was the culture of the students themselves. Being a conservative (in the true sense) means that one is more or less expected to keep quite and stare at the floor.
Thank you! Just for the record, I do believe that it is healthy for an individual to choose to follow one particular spiritual tradition (even as he reads on and appreciates others as well). I just think that a return to some fanatical religious exclusivity ("my religion is 100% true and unique, whereas everyone else's religion is pure falsehood, probably established by demons") would be very counterproductive, especially in an age of encroaching materialism.
@@flavius5303 I was going to mention that as well. In addition to the importance of picking a way and sticking with it. I did not nor tried to imply that religous belief is bad, it obviously has contributed tremendously to human civilization. Just that there are a lot of channels that have high quality information like this one tend to be extremely against all other religions. Hence it might make it difficult for the viewer to agree with those videos as a conflict in religous worldview can lead to irrational disagreements in opinions between the viewer and video. I believe your videos are suitable for the traditionally minded person, regardless of which religion one belongs to.
Yeah the music was a bit of an experiment on my part. Some people liked it, some not. It's by a band called "Globus" (it's in the description). It might have been used for a game at certain point, I don't know.
@@flavius5303 I really like the eerie music you created for your video on Hesiod and the Fall of Man. Can honestly say that it’s pretty epic juxtaposed with all of the Guenon and Lings quotes.
I like the video very much. The only think I am not completely on board with is your choice of music. Plato said you can never be too careful with music! ;-) Schuon makes clear that Western musical art was corrupted much later than Western visual art and architecture, and Western music was generally healthy all the way up to the 19th century. That gives you a wide range to choose from. Maybe good music for this video might have been some royal march from the medieval or Baroque, or yet something religious chant, or even something from Bach...again, the range of choice either way is very wide, from medieval chant to Bach and Mozart (Schuon said Mozart's music was 'crystalline' and thus not at all in step with the degeneracy of the epoch in which he lived), without having to delve into more modern music that may be of questionable value.
Thank you for the feedback. I admit that using a Globus track was a kind of experiment on my part. Most of my videos use Classical music as a background. A few use neofolk or ambient. Could you please tell me which work of Schuon you are referencing btw?
@@Mike-md7op The painting is called "Old Age" from the series "The Four Ages of Man" by the Danish painter Ditlev Blunck. I thought it would be fitting as a symbolic representation of the four ages of humanity described in Guenon's works.
@@flavius5303 Another interesting historical event that demonstrates Temporal Power overthrowing spiritual authority is the Battle of the Camel between the forces of Muwawia and Ali, and the subsequent conflicts between Ali's sons and Yazid.
And a really interesting historical thread for perennialists relating to these events is that of the "Husseini Brahmins", which was a large contingent of Hindu partisans of Ali. There are some interesting videos on UA-cam.

So dramatic, Flavius. My God! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
this reminds me of jews as the chosen people, the torah to guide the world, well, most of the world is indeed abrahamic

Interesting
Loves how this channel helps people to understand the Logos and order of the universe without indulging in partisan religions.

Is this music from a video game? It sounds familiar. Like the Witcher or Dragon Age of something.
