    Good summary. While very few people do read Guénon, there has been a huge resurgence of interest in his and Schuon’s work in recent years. The trend is encouraging.

    Great introduction to Guenon! The relation between him and Julius Evola and the influence the on latter's thought is of interest in understanding the growing of traditionalist thought in the West.

    I started to read Guenon with the Reign of the Quantity and it was a bad idea. The few first chapters are indeed metaphysics and I did not understand anything! Better to start by The Crisis of the Modern World. His most metaphysical work is The Multiple State of Being and once you get to understand what he means, this book is amazing. Having discovered Guenon changed the way I see the world.

    I read Guenon long time ago because of Alan Watts reference. King Charles is into Guenon. I started reading Schuon, back then there were not many published books

    This was excellent, thank you. I just ordered 'Fundamental Symbols: The Universal Language of Sacred Science' is this the same as 'Symbols of Sacred Science'?

    Thanks for this great summary. At 11:10 you use an image of what is known as the strength card in tarot. Could you please provide some information on where Guenon talks about the symbolism of this image? Would highly appreciate it. Thanks

    Not mentioning Kabbalah is on purpose?

    • @avigdoreskin3934
      @avigdoreskin3934 Рік тому

      @legatus4875 How Evola is related? He himself defined his position as kshatriy and an opposed to Guenon’s grade of brachman

    • @avigdoreskin3934
      @avigdoreskin3934 Рік тому +3

      Kabbalah was the most important source for Guenon if you check his bibliography. The attempt to neglect is make everything else doubtful

    • @avigdoreskin3934
      @avigdoreskin3934 Рік тому +2

      @legatus4875 Guenon taught us that the "erudition" is secondary. Your intellectual and spiritual search is a sign of a great soul. Blessings from Jerusalem!

      @imanmoeinian  Рік тому +6

      Of course not! Guenon made many references to the Kabbalah in his writings. We forgot to mention that in the video.

    The modern world is great especially since most of us exist because of it. This guy was an academic, its all good for him to complain, try being working class, theres nothing romantic about slavery.

    your description makes me think you've hardly read the books you're talking about. you just present platitudes about how 'interesting', 'good', 'important' each book is with no semblance of the content at all beyond reading the chapter subjects. convince me he is a good metaphysician via his arguments rather than just declaring how much you like him over and over.

      No one will explain his point of view better than himself, I recommend starting with Crisis of the Modern World
