    sir i am a Physics student from Pakistan and I am deeply interested in Islam and Modern Science Discourse. I am also very inspired from Rene Guenon after reading his book: East and West. I am also really interested in metaphysical or philosophical aspects of modern day mathematics. Please it is request to teach this book on your channel if this is not available online. Or make it available on internet online.
    We, students of Modern Science, especially the Muslims, need such books severely. May Allah bless you.

    It is true. Metaphysics is not something one can learn quickly. First of all you need to see if you have the disposition, though being totally outside a traditional society. There must in fact be aught that gets you to understand your own constitution. I am fortunate because I can dedicate almost my entire time to metaphysics. After wasting many years of my life with the repugnant educational futility of our culture, I managed to create a life in which I can devote myself only to metaphysics, high theology, and house holding of course. This is what I need to do. Nothing else counts in life. All the rest is an illusion. In order to do this, one should, whilst studying the sacred science, get the basics of a few languages. In my case, I am tackling Sanskrit, Egyptian hieroglyphs, ancient Italian, Latin. The latter two are important because of the very high theology as well as metaphysics of Dante Alighieri and the Dolce Stil Novo, as well as other poets and true Philosophers. Latin is important for Virgil, Bernardo di Chiaravalle, Tommaso d'Aquino, etc. Of course, you have to choose your languages without pushing too hard. I would like to tackle Arabic and Hebrew, but I just can't.

    Sir what are your thoughts on the Hindu philosophy of Advaita vedanta. I have been confused about it for quite a while, Guenon and even shuon werehighly influenced by it and also hold shankara its supposed founder in high regard, I have noticed them comparing it to Wahdatul wajood , but i doubt that they are identical since advaita claims the complete identity of the individual self and the divine, do you think such metaphysical and ontological claims made by advaita is compatible with islam or any school of islamic philosophy/mysticism perhaps. What are your Thoughts ??

    • @SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad
      @SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad  Рік тому +2

      In short, I do not think that Vedanta really teaches the complete identity of the self with the divine. Neither does the waḥdat al-wujūd teaching of Ibn al-ʿArabī espouse such a view.

    I'm so happy to have discovered your channel through your videos on Guenon! I'm a Catholic by ancestry (mostly Irish) but have studied Islam with reverence and fascination since I was about 21 (so about 16 years ago) when a Muslim co-worker introduced me to the Qur'an and the manners of prayer. Unfortunately I lost contact with him after only knowing him for a few months, regrettably so as he offered to bring me with him to his mosque, but my brief time spent talking with him had a profound influence on my theological interests that I only wish I could thank him directly for. I remember being surprised at the ready enthusiasm he had to discuss his faith, a genuine spiritual passion that for him came first before absolutely anything else. In the years since I've read the book in several translations, and immense commentaries by three different translators, and have sought its guidance several times during periods of distress. I look forward to discovering your content, thank you very much for providing this content.

    • @SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad
      @SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad  Рік тому +3

      One needs to have completed a rigorous course in calculus. When mathematicians use the word "rigorous," they mean you should have studied the proofs of the theorems of calculus; or a course in what is generally called "real analysis." In other words, if you studied calculus as a tool-kit for solving engineering and physics problems, this is probably not sufficient to understand Guenon's book.

    Hello Saiyad,
    I've read East & West and noticed Guenon said to seek authority in the East to resolve 'gaps' in Western tradition, however I'm not sure how this is supposed to be done. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting, it's very hard to not beget occultisism through 'fusion', but I'm not sure which authority to consolidate. Could someone please enlighten me as to how to go about this because esotericism seems to take primacy but almost every traditionalist considers Christianity to be lacking in esotericism.

    • @julienweiss9363
      @julienweiss9363 Рік тому +5

      Guénon thought that there may still exist various fragments of Christian esotericism, but that they are either misunderstood, forgotten or have degenerated (Freemasonry is a typical example of this, where it is clear that there was something spiritual but was somewhat corrupted), OR they are still around, but extremely closed-off (for example the Eastern Orthodox practice of hesychasm somewhat looks like an initiation, but access to it is quite difficult so it's hard to know for sure from the outside).
      Guénon hoped that with the help of muslims or hindus, some Christians could rediscover/'clean' these potential paths by ascerting what was salvageable and what was not using an external point of reference. That was basically his hope.

    • @SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad
      @SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad  Рік тому +4

      In addition to the comment of Julien Weiss above, I would add that if you truly seek a spiritual path that you seriously consider the possibilities of initiation that still survive intact in the Islamic tradition.

    • @SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad
      @SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad  Рік тому +3

      Simply because he did not "convert" in any conventional sense. It was not that he was somehow convinced of Islam as opposed to Catholicism since he would have seen both as embodying Tradition "with a capital T". Guenon was seeking initiation and in the end realised that this was alive in Islam. Whether he ultimately concluded that Islam alone was valid and it alone offers a living initiatic possibilities to seekers in the Kali Yuga [which is my own view], I cannot be sure.

    Can i ask for an advice?.
    Can you recommend any organised group (such as an sufi tariqa) that preaches an inclusive interpretation of islam regarding Entrance to jannah. In other words can you mention any group/tariqa which preaches an interpretation of Quran that people of other religions can get into jannah as well.
    I know this is something opposed by traditionalist Muslim groups such as salafi, ibadis & also the school of muhakkima.
    But I guess people like ibn arabi & rene guenon support this inclusive interpretation.
    Also there are some people within the modern Quranist movement who interpret the term "islam" from the Quran to mean "any way of submission to God" instead of the meaning the traditionalists support (i.e. islam means a very specific way which excludes people are generally considered to be non Muslims such as Christians, jews & others).

    • @SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad
      @SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad  4 місяці тому

      Thank you for your question. No such group would be a legitimate Muslim group. The Qurʾān and the Ḥadīths of the Prophet Muḥammad صلى الله عليه وآله and His Family عليهم السلام are clear that Allah has abrogated all other religions by the sending Islam with his final Prophet to humanity. This is the religion which all must follow in the last cycle of time in which we all now find ourselves. If a follower of a previous revelation, for example such as Christianity, does his best to follow that religion and the message of Islam never reached him, then Allah will judge him in accordance with what he knew. Otherwise, it is clear that those who consciously reject Islam will never enter jannah. Thus, it is incumbent on Muslims to see that the message brought by the Final Messenger Muḥammad صلى الله عليه وآله reaches the four corners of the earth. Today Muslims are found in all parts of globe and the whole world has heard of Islam via some means or another. It is true there may be some very isolated people, such as a Tibetan monk meditating in a cave in the high Himalayas, but the majority of people in the world through have encountered Islam in some way or another and in some for or another. This is where an important problem arises. Given the huge distortion in the Western media, which is controlled by dark and demonic forces, regarding Islam and Muslims can it truly be said that a true account of Islam has reached them? The answer is no. Thus, I cannot say that all Americans or let's even say Chinese or Japanese are all going to hell. Fortunately, none of us will be doing the judging on the Day of Judgement for this will be sole prerogative of Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. Having made these important clarifications, it remains true that the the only religion acceptable to Allah is Islam.
      Regarding Rene Guenon, I do not know if he upheld such an "inclusive interpretation". Ibn al-ʿArabī most certainly did not and a full reading of his works shows this. He advised the Muslim rulers of his day to fully implement the Sharīʿa including the jizya tax on Christians and Jews.
      The so-called "Qurʾānists" are gravely mistaken. Both the Qurʾān and the Normative Practice of Muḥammad صلى الله عليه وآله (known in Arabic as the Sunna) which for the Shīʿā is most authentically and authoritatively embodied by his Family (the Ahl al-Bayt عليهم السلام) is recorded in a very large body of texts known as the ḥadīths. The"Qurʾānists" claim that one need only follow the Qurʾān to the exclusion of the ḥadīths. This is simply not possible. The detailed rules of Islam are set down in the ḥadīths. The best example of this are the five daily prayers. The Qurʾān only speaks of prayer in general. It no where explicitly states that there are five (although this is implied). Moreover, it does not explicitly set out the timings of the prayers nor does it describe in detail its physical postures and other details. All of this is found in the ḥadīths. The Qurʾānists are a thoroughly misguided deviant group.
      I hope that I have answered your questions and humbly advise you to enter Islam.
