Only if he shaved his beard and put on a fake one, then dyed his hair 3 shades the wrong colour and got a hat that's not quite right.. And didn't tell any of the other Adam cosplayers
Absolute favorite film of all time. There is 2001 and there are all other movies. Super hype to see such a detailed mask that captures Moonwatcher's expression in the film so perfectly and all I can think about is getting one of my own.
Great little head piece / mask, as I was walking around NYCC this past weekend looking at costumes the thought occured to me that all Adam would need to do is cosplay in some really crappy outfit like an ill fitting spiderman lycra suit from Spirit Halloween and no one would ever suspect it was him. I guess the mask does the same thing. haha
Or just not have the same group of people following him two steps behind every time. That, IMHO, is probably the biggest reason he gets recognised immediately. Always the same 3-4 people around him.
I´ve subscribed to Steve Neill´s channel many years ago - his vids are usually visual low quality but not the work and knowledge he tells you. Learned so much over the years. Greetings from Germany.
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I thought that's gotta be Steve Neill's Moonwatcher!!! :D Been watching his build of his Moonwatcher mask on his channel... oh my gosh, you to have got to do something together... it'd be the next evolution in makernerdom!!! :D
Such a super replica of "Moon watcher", that's a Very talented friend you have Adam. Also Congratulations on not getting noticed for the first time at the Convention.
Adam is my favorite space movie geek. The bone used by Moonwatcher, when first shown, is the ulna of a large animal. Later, when seen flying through the air, it is the humerus of a large animal. The animals in the film are New World tapirs, which never lived in Africa (not even the Old World variety, but they look prehistoric and worked well in the days before CGI and expensive mechanical animal props.
Adam, while I am grateful that you shared this with us, maybe you should have kept this one to yourself until it stopped working. Because now the chances of it working again are much less than it was. Looks like you have a great time with it.
Good job on the fakeout.. I thought the video was ending without showing off the stuff Adam bought and was about to comment venting about that when it came back on.
It just occurs to me . He is writing all this stuff of as business expense. I used to be jealous about the explosions he got paid to help with. Now I realize he gets away with cosplay as a business. Dang .
All the other UA-camrs do that as well 🤔 thanks for noticing thought. It's a very good info to remember if you want to start not loosing money on having a UA-cam channel 🤔
Anyone else think Adam could pull off an awesome Heath Ledger Joker, I know he usually does at least masks, and full elaborate costumes but I think he'd pull it off great
Man, what sucks about cool figures and stuff is that they're usually: A) Japan (or other country) only B) Limited or never available C) Priced for rich nerds Any time I see something awesome like this stuff I might as well forget about ever finding it.
Don't know what it was but adam seemed super relaxed or happy in this one. maybe the experience of being a regular joe again? That stormtroopers' suit really erm.. suits norm.
I watched the mask being made- amazing process and results. I can only imagine how much fun you had at the con... HOWEVER- I must call you out regarding the bone. It's not a femur. In the film, it was the ulna and radius of a zebra. (the two bones are fused together in equines.) By the way- I did the technical research on the 2001 spacesuits for the 12-inch figures of David Bowman and Frank Poole, by Executive Replicas.
I think they didnt find him because everyone whos on the look out for him is so use to seeing him in a costume thats very extravagant n complicated. Sometimes simple is better.
(we always mail our haul back to ourselves.) how many people just thought you were from Planet of the Apes? Many of this latest generation I'm afraid probably haven't seen Space Odyssey. The bone was an awesome idea!
I love seeing Adam’s haul of what he likes to buy at cons! Would love to see more of this!!!
agreed
Thanks so much Adam for your kind words. You looked marvelous darling!
Thanks Kim!
not sure if its intentional Steve... but I see a lil of the creator in the final sculpt....
I am officially a huge fan of your work!
Wouldn't the ultimate Adam Savage Incognito trick be to get a bunch of people to cosplay as Adam, while Adam is amongst them?
he did that

Only if he shaved his beard and put on a fake one, then dyed his hair 3 shades the wrong colour and got a hat that's not quite right.. And didn't tell any of the other Adam cosplayers

i got a picture of him and i didn't know it was him.
Did he growl at you?
Peanut butter and jelly like a fish sandwiches
double jelly donut
Double Jelly Fish Donut?
All these videos with Adam just make me happy, love his enthusiasm
Great little head piece / mask, as I was walking around NYCC this past weekend looking at costumes the thought occured to me that all Adam would need to do is cosplay in some really crappy outfit like an ill fitting spiderman lycra suit from Spirit Halloween and no one would ever suspect it was him. his costumes are usually pretty big, so something as simple as a mask does a lot for hiding
Yeah absolutely. His entourage and the elaborateness of this costumes can be his often undoing.
when he does his incognitos they use a different crew each time once they get to the floor
If he lost the glasses, put on a baseball cap and a gimmee t-shirt, he'd be just as incognito. :)
Puts in contacts with black paint all over his hands...
Looks like Merv from Home Alone
Always contacts first, then makeup!!
Made me cringe.
You should maybe go camping or something once in a while, so such trivial things won't bother you no more.
yes, surprising for a professional
That mask is INCREDIBLE. The hair looks so so great!
I liked the Beatlejuice cosplay under the Moonwatcher costume. 2 levels deep!
I'm glad you showed what you bought. I was afraid the video was going to end without seeing your haul, I'm glad it didn't.
I´ve subscribed to Steve Neill´s channel many years ago - his vids are usually visual low quality but not the work and knowledge he tells you. Learned so much over the years. Greetings from Germany.
*The way Adam and Norm are enthusiastic and passionate* about all of this is truly adobable; love those guys.
NORM?? isn't he a little short for a storm trooper?
it does make adams chewbacca look bigger
For Imperial, yes, for First Order maybe not.
Thats hightist
at least he doesn't get hit in the head by a blast door...
I KNOW WHAT THAT IS!!!
I could literally watch an entire video of Adam and Norm playing with the toys and the loot they bought from comic con xD
Someone needs to do a mash up of Adam opening his mouth around 4:50 with the Chewbacca lady.
LOL, good call - I'd totally forgotten about Chewbacca Mom.
Fantastic mask. The animated feature is amazing!
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I thought that's gotta be Steve Neill's Moonwatcher!!! :D Been watching his build of his Moonwatcher mask on his channel... oh my gosh, you to have got to do something together... it'd be the next evolution in makernerdom!!! :D
Thanks so much that was kind of you to say!
That mask was amazing
5:15 A tapir, I believe.
@5:47 you can see Claudio Sanchez from coheed and cambria on the right. :)
00:13 I love that someone went to comic con, as comic con!
Fascinating on what things these guys get excited about.
Great video start to finish! The mask is beautiful! And was really fun seeing Adam go through his haul from NYCC.
I love how adam always puts his contacts on with dirty hands the man has no room for trivial things
The mask looks awesome, so is Steve, and so are you, Adam. COOL!!
When I wrote comedy routines for Wowwee Robotics I hit those amazing toy stores, too -- yay. :))
Nice. 2001: A Space Odyssey is my all time, exclusive, unqualified, favorite movie ever in the history of evers. Period.
Such a super replica of "Moon watcher", that's a Very talented friend you have Adam. Also Congratulations on not getting noticed for the first time at the Convention.
Great mask. Steve Neill is a very talented lad. Puppets, props, a 6-foot TOS Enterprise. He's the man!
Norm is so cool. Also that moonwatcher mask is incredible!
I'm ecstatic you got the 1000toys figure because it is so freaking cool and fun to mess with!
I'm so happy he was able to enjoy comic con and just be. That's so lovely
In the bottom right at 5:47 you can see Claudio Sanchez the lead singer of Coheed and Cambria and his wife Chondra Echert enjoying the con.
Watching these guys scramble to assemble the mech was awesome, like 2 kids haha
5:48 Claudio and Chondra from Coheed and Cambria randomly lol
Oh wow. Ha! I didn't notice
MECHATROWEGO? Yes please! I have a model kit made by Hasegawa in a slightly smaller scale, but all of them look so cool.
LOVE it!! Would die to see the tested team make a Dave Bowman spacesuit!!!
Nice EDC @ 9:54 . The Leatherman WAVE. That's what I carry.
Adam, while I am grateful that you shared this with us, maybe you should have kept this one to yourself until it stopped working. Because now the chances of it working again are much less than it was. Looks like you have a great time with it.
Agreed!
Steve Neill is a genius...awesome work
I love that in this one norm is the expert showing adam all the cool shit.
Cool! Have you considered full-eye (scleral) contact lenses to complete the effect? You could even do prescription versions.
Good job on the fakeout.. I thought the video was ending without showing off the stuff Adam bought and was about to comment venting about that when it came back on.
Must be so cool to just wander and not get mobbed. Happy for you :o)
Would luv to see a video someday of adams collection, cant imagine the what he has, i think it would be awesome to see.
It just occurs to me .
He is writing all this stuff of as business expense.
I used to be jealous about the explosions he got paid to help with.
Now I realize he gets away with cosplay as a business.

All the other UA-camrs do that as well 🤔 thanks for noticing thought. It's a very good info to remember if you want to start not loosing money on having a UA-cam channel 🤔
Omg i saw you!!!! I didnt know!!!! Love your work adam!!!!
Was it just me, or did anyone else think (For just a brief second at 6:51) that Adam looked like The Joker when he took the mask off? Haha.
my exact thought
This was a great episode! Thanks Adam!
Damn Adam. You are just a kid in a Wonka Factory... living the dream ;)
The mecha figure is called WeGo I think and there is a huge customising craze about these.
It's weird seeing Moonwatcher wearing a suit.
Cool! Simple in comparison to your other costumes but awesome!
daaaaaayum..... don't "F" with Adam... knife comes out so naturally.... like a light sabre.
Talk about living the life. ❤
Your chelsea dock boots would've let the cat out the bag for me...😄🍻
Anyone else think Adam could pull off an awesome Heath Ledger Joker, I know he usually does at least masks, and full elaborate costumes but I think he'd pull it off great
Always love these videos

no haters plz... he lives his life.... as amazing... agree???
when he came back, with those bags on his hand was like, darling, there was this shoe shop i cant walk by!
I don't think the build video has been posted as promised? Did I miss it?
I think those little robot things are called mechatro webos. I've only seen the smaller ones but they do have a lot of sweet color variants
So so good!!
the make up at the end mad me realize Adam would be a great Doc Brown if they ever rebooted Back to The Future
Don't know what it was but adam seemed super relaxed or happy in this one. maybe the experience of being a regular joe again? That stormtroopers' suit really erm.. suits norm.
Could totally have an interesting Vincent Vega cosplay with that mask
N O I C E
Man, this costume is pure nightmare fuel to me.
That mask is amazingly made.
With the Moonwatcher mask and the black shirt, Adam looks a lot like our Dutch comedian Hans Teeuwen
I know im two years late. But that guy in 0:12 is Cosplaying as the Con itself. What a chad
"Off of my fiber glass face"
Sounds like a sick album!
Can't open a package, pulls out a Bowie from his pocket.
It’s the blade on his multitool
AdderSpike It's a joke

👌🏼 good content mate
I got to meet Norm at NYCC! still have to meet Adam though
Skip to 6:58 and tell me that isn't a villain called 'The Propmaster' :D
Adam always carry a knife... even to comic con 9:54😺

amazing as usual... you wonderful wonderful man.
Reminds me of my acting a movement classes way back when at the Art Institute.
Hoarders by another name. 🤪👍🏼
“Moonwatcher” was brilliant. 👍🏼
seeing what adam bought was the highlight
Go incognito as The Undertaker next year. You guys looks a lot alike. Also, maybe as Buster :D
Deja Vue buster would be awesome
damn adam you were the hero of my childhood😝greets from Austria!
I think they didnt find him because everyone whos on the look out for him is so use to seeing him in a costume thats very extravagant n complicated. Sometimes simple is better.
Glad you had fun
Love it!
normtrooper
Underrated comment!
Very punny
"no one makes a good one" xD savage indeed ! XD.
Adam truly turns into a savage when he puts that mask on.
The swag reveal was almost as cool as the mask video wise, we see Norms passion
6:51 Adam would make an amazing joker cosplay!
(we always mail our haul back to ourselves.) how many people just thought you were from Planet of the Apes? Many of this latest generation I'm afraid probably haven't seen Space Odyssey. The bone was an awesome idea!
That is a beautiful mask.
6:51 ...And now time for my Joker Cosplay!
Beetlejuice more like!
With the suit - this could easily pass for Caveman Lawyer cosplay. : P
When he took the mask off he looked like the joker!!!!😂😂😂😂
so good!
