We need to move on to new things tho instead of trying to ressurect our fav games in the cursed indian burial grounds. They almost always come back 'different' anyways.
We as consumers need to learn how to move on from brand recognition or, everytime, corpos will start thinking of themselves as deserving of our money, in every facet of commerce, not just games.
We shouldnt want dragon age to be good again, or at least not in this organized fashion.
We should just buy and play better games.
If anything, this year has shown me that we dont need AAA devs or the tenth sequel in an already dry franchise to have great games.
The game sciences and saber interactives out there are just waiting to be found and they have an awful hard time even being seen when we are harping on and on about stupid bethesda or bioware or what happened to saints row, etc etc etc.
Just talk about the better games, maybe mentioning the bad games in reference ya know?
But we FOCUS on the bad games and wont let up, even after they have failed.
Concord makes sense because it was monumental and needs to be studied but yeahm us beating up star field or suicide squad or dragon age (if it turns out to be as bad as it seems) is kinda little kid shit to be honest and provides no positive suggestions on how to improve, and as consumers, we shouldnt have to either.

The problem is that they made a direct sequels to those games AND they refuse to carry over choices from DA:O, 2, 3. If they made this game a few hundred years in the future and decided hell lets not carry the choices I would have been fine with it.

The purpose and priority of veilguard is not escape. it is instead using the dragon age landscape to make it about yourself and to push a agenda. These individuals are narcissistic, entitled, insecure, self obsessed, desperate attention, seeking dumbasses who find all of their meaning and value and purpose and identity in irrelevant superficial shit. Deep superficial bullshit that has no actual substance or depth.
So because it does not have this, they have to constantly reiterate to everyone they meet and with their appearance and with everything that they touch their fixation on the superficial shit. Because we know that actual meaning and value and importance and identity is found far far far far far far far deeper than skin level bullshit. But since they are insecure with no self-worth and don’t understand this, they focus on making everything around them about their superficial fixation so as to reinforce their obsession.
They cannot make games or entertainment because that’s not a priority in their lives in the slightest. The only priority these people have is themselves and reiterating this to everyone they meet and with everything that they touch. And because it’s superficial bullshit, it creates very disingenuous inauthentic relevant focused forced experiences that are foreign and unnatural.
They’re not creative artist desiring to create escape for consumers. They are insecure, self obsessed entitled dip shits focused on narcissistic patterns to make everything about themselves and the relevant agendas they want to push demanding you conform or you’re the problem.
These decision-makers and so-called developers should not exist in this industry because they have nothing to do with it. They don’t create escape , they use this medium in the same way that they use their Twitter page.

The activist financiers can write it off which means they don't care either. Because that writer was one of the OG members of Bioware. Wrote Baldur's Gate 1&2, KOTOR, Jade Empire, etc. He has a resume that's hugely impressive.
He also quit Bioware in 2016 because he did not like how they stopped caring about the quality of writing. This guy is quite literally agreeing with many people about the decline in writing, but people are somehow peddling that he still works for Bioware and wrote Veilguard.

I started recognizing that the Dragon Age Bioware team was woke when Bioware was making statements after the launch of DA2 about how they understood why players were upset that all the romanceable characters were pansexual, and they also realized how horrible transgender representation had been in DA2, among other things. All the same "woke" vs "incel" conversations happened when DAI launched. It's always like this for Dragon Age games.
Hard to believe David Gaider is the same one who made Dragon Age Origins. I guess that Two-Face quote applies here.

The original "too exotic" complaint regarding Isabella was about how she went from a white woman to a darker more busty woman. Other complaints were about her approach to sex.
Those that weren't upset by that or never met her in DA:Origins, feel she is a great character.

I vaguely remember the Isabella thing back when I was playing DA2. But there is a little bit of acknowledgment of it through in-game banter of the characters, where she herself admits (to Aveline, IIRC) having to make up for her shortcomings through other things. There was probably s little bit of noise in the game forums back then. But no big deal. I thought she looked fine. And a dramatic improvement over looking generic in her cameo in DA: Origins.
It blows my mind how so many developers have butchered existing franchises while ignoring and mocking criticism to release to abysmal sales but Bioware does the exact same thing while honestly believing it'll be different and they'll be successful. How many times can these people ignore the past?

+ The way the games were built allows for mixing storylines increasing replayability. Adding massively to the value of the game.
Breaking away from the old storyline simply departs from any reason i would have to play this game.
At least let the old games choices have some effect if you cant deal with the massive amount of branching storylines. None though....

Why do these former DA devs/writers simply make up all sort of things they insist the fans were saying? Who exactly are they quoting? Yes, I'm sure you could find SOMEONE out there who thought Isabella was "too exotic", but that was NOT some kind of prevailing opinion.
Fans who criticized DA2 were mostly criticizing its obviously rushed development and release and the constant reusing of the same environments--legit criticisms. Their attack against DA fans is dishonest and disingenuous.
As far as "romance options" in DA2, Isabella did look exotic, but that's part of what made her attractive. You had Merrill, who looked like a pre-teen, Fenris who was a skinny, bad-tempered elf (seriously I couldn't stand him), Anders, one of the most effeminate men I've seen in a game, and Sebastian if you got the DLC. To me, Isabella was the only romance option that was worth it, she was exotic, beautiful, and had a cool attitude. Then there was Aveline, who looked very manly but wasn't romanceable. Romance options are not why I play these games, but they are a cool feature, it makes you feel like you're connecting with another person in the same game world. But it doesn't matter at all when everybody is ugly and poorly written.
Don't forget, David Gaider isn't just A writer for Dragon Age. He is the CREATOR of Dragon Age. The most I can say is, "At least a corpo hasn't destroyed his original vision," but it definitely seems like it's absolutely true. If "Word of God" is saying this is his vision for Thedas (fun fact, the world Thedas literally is The DAS, The Dragon Age System, so you can imagine the "peak" writing that has always been at Bioware), then it really was never ours to begin with. It's sad, but I'm ready to move on to something else then.

The man can't narratively weave together anything he created post Awakening, with a decline in narrative quality following each subsequent release.
Either he got really lucky with some tard wranglers keeping him on a leash during the creation, or others did the heavy lifting and this midwit egotist took the credit.

I don't need virtual sex and don't want it in any game. I'd prefer to have an option to omit those parts from the game. Straight or not. I just don't find it interesting in a virtual way. To be fair, I'm the same way about sports in video games. Some things are better in reality.
I was looking forward to this, as someone who has played all the Dragon Age games. I beat Dragon Age Inquisition about 4 times with different choices and mix and matching choices from the webpage that let you tinker with previous choices from the other to carry over to the new game. But since they said it won't carry choices over from Inquisition and then decided to make the qunari look like shit. The sliders I can forgive considering in every one of their games the sliders barely did anything anyway. Then I looked to see why they abandoned all the stuff that was promised for " Dread Wolf ". I won't be buying this one as it is clearly not what was promised and they can take their agenda along with it. I love fantasy games for that very notion, it's " Fantasy " You don't need representation from the real world in a make believe setting. It already allows you to be anything you want to be.
Remember folks, if your on fence about buying this potential woke disaster, the game will be DRM free day one. Interpret that how you want.

I buy and play video games for escapism. To enjoy a fantasy or sci-fi story and world.
I do not want ANY form of "Modern" real world politics or messaging. That's why I will never support games like this!

i don't mind devs insert whatever ideology into a game, as long as the characters and the universe look cool and the game is fun. No one criticizes GTA for its characters seemingly espousing quite questionable morality.
but i won't pay a single penny for games which torture me with an ugliness tsunami.

Is the plan to finally shut down Bioware? The fact they're marketing that character creator makes me think DAI is meant to fail. The fact DA was already KIA thanks to two terrible sequels makes this feel very deliberate. Why even bother bringing back an old IP like DA, if they're just going to deliberately get it wrong?
