Now one big question is whenever you switch weapons do you get a new set of hotkeyed abilities specific to said weapon? That would at least make up for some of the lack of ability accessibility
And is it fair to say that there is a range of build diversity?, when you consider the fact were limited to 4 ability hotkeys.. like we inadvertently have a "diverse range" of build diversity simply due to the restrictions around available hotkeyed abilities. Where as in Inquisition we had twice the amount of hotkeys as well as control of companions which in itself allowed you to experience multiple classes and builds not to mention the customization went way farther in Inquisition similar to what we had in DA:Origins. Full equipment options for everyone where here in DA:Vielgaurd we essentially have what we saw In DA:2 with very limited equipment options for companions yet here its limited on the player character as well...
@@Safiyahalishah Its just the inquisition style again just with better fidelity and lighting. So it makes sense that you hate it, but then again this game was NEVER made for you. If you hated inquisition, this game was never made for you.
@@XiLock_Alotx Are restarted? What does playing the game have to do with it feeling weird to see the smoothness of characters? What, are you going to reach into your screen and touch them to "feel?"
The ogres look goofy and not sinister anymore. They clearly tried to "fix it" by making them taller but it's just terrible. No comment about the Hurlocks, this people never played a Dragon Age game before.
They remade just about everything in here. If you showed me this demo without any obvious giveaways like Varric or Solas or the qunari, I'd legit not have recognized that it's supposed to be Dragon Age.
@@shandyabrooo! Why do you have such low standards? Come on, you can do better. Dragon Age Insquisition looks better than this crap and that game was released 10 years ago.
I personally think the UI is really bad, and not what I would expect from a Dragon Age game. Not only that but the art style just isn't right, and feel's very off. I'm not sure who this game is made for, but it doesn't seem to be made for fans of Dragon Age.
I don’t like the ui or character models either. But I’m hoping the combat is actually enjoyable and the story picks up. I’d really like to see the conclusion to solas journey
I played a very limited portion of the game. I expect an RPG to expand systems and complexity as you play more and more, so I would not expect to know everything about combat so early on. Early game combat was fun, remains to be seen how that works as you progress. Story is sort of the opposite it was weak but I hope it gets better as usually intros can be awkward.
Right?! It's so weird, and in the character creator when they're in underwear the hands are down near their knees. It's the most cryptid style arm and hand model I've ever seen.
See the problem is for me a longtime DA fan, is this game should have come out like 4 or 5 years ago. It’s been 10 years since inquisition and I’ve sadly lost interest but not only that, this game feels way too familiar or boring. The basic 3 classes, shallow dialogue options, the combat, art direction. Everything. After 10 years of playing amazing RPGs like Witcher 3, elden ring, Baldurs gate, disco Elysian, all with way more player freedom and expression. This feels like a game that should have come out in the mid to late 2010s but is a few years too late to care
Fair critique. I agree with you, but I'm more in the mindset of, "better late than never." Hopefully we'll get a solid conclusion to the events set up at the end of Inquisition, even if the game feels dated.
In my experience, it's better to just take games as they are and not have expectations. Go with what the game is and look for another that might have what you want. I also liked the the dark tone of Origins... but they clearly wanted to take it another direction.
I don't understand that criticism. The combat is closer to the Witcher 3 and Elden ring focusing on parrying and dodging. We don't know if the dialogue is shallow. Most CC praised it's Dialog. BG sacrificed it's player voice and also is a system that doesn't work in story focused cinematic games.
@@thewaterdrop123 I think their point was more focused on the fact that they assume a lot of the game mechanics will be similar to the Mass Effect trilogy and previous Dragon Age games, rather than advancing in storytelling in the ways the Witcher 3 or other games have. If Veilguard does indeed play similar to the original ME series and Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition, then it will definitely feel dated when directly compared to BG3, Witcher 3, etc. I'm hoping that's not the case, but it is a legitimate/fair concern and criticism.
@@thewaterdrop123 they HAVE to praise it, dude. It's one of the conditions of EA letting them play it. Why do you think there are no real critical videos about it? Why do you think every UA-camr says the same stuff? Because that's what EA required of them to have and maintain access.
For me dragon age Inquisition is the better bg3 I love fighting a bunch of bosses and dragons I don't like talking 24/7 and boring round based combat sadly
@@4lmighty_L0af I don't like BG3 either. Well, the dialogue is fantastic but I hate the gameplay. It gets old after Act 1, everything after that felt like a slog.
Same. At first I just thought it looked like Inquisition (which does look cartoony. I don't care what anyone says to further their agenda against this game. Inquisition was cartoony). That said I don't particularly like this art style as I always prefer more realistic stuff but it does look a lot like Kingdom of Amalur which I didn't mind to be fair so if I can play that and Fable then I can play this even though I'd much prefer it was more akin to The Witcher in style like Origins but all the DA games have been Pixar games since then so it is what it is I suppose
@@me5969 yeah, I agree, Inquisition does look a bit cartoony too. Not as much as The Veilguard, but I remember enjoying the experience, so guess I'll find out in a not so distant future lol
@@me5969 tbh I couldn't care less if it looked like anime. It looks beautiful to me. What I do mind is the regression in creature design. Its like they were bored of dark fantasy and wanted to go all out high fantasy monster design on us.
well there was blood magic in the second game. It was actually a big part of the plot as well. But there wasnt any blood magic in DA:I besides the one moment with the grey wardens.
@@dgripper05 True, though I think Tevinter was all about blood magic and mages in general controlling things. If blood magic would be anywhere, you'd think it would be in the realm of the mage lords. I'm sure the reason they didn't put it in has more to do with not offending people or something stupid.
Indeed, if a DA game is set in Tevinter I want the opportunity to play a corrupt, immoral blood magister, they being a common part of the lore. It would be an interesting way of getting to better understand the lore of Tevinter, and what led to such a corrupt system to develop, and drove and encouraged people to embrace it. But BioWare have continually removed and limited choice in this regard, forcing us along narrower moral pathways and removing most dark, evil, or self-serving choices.
Should've made a game for the fans of the series first and foremost. You're not gonna attact casuals with this kinda game, they are busy playing games like Fortnite or COD.
@@Drums_of_Liberation It really isn't, most of the casual gamers I know play neither of those games without being actively prompted to do so, infact even the passionate gamers I know only a few are particularly into the battleground scene play those games often. I have meet way more people who play league, Dota or some sort of sport game like NBA2K, Maiden or Fifa than I am to meet someone who plays COD or Fortnite. Matchmaking in Fortnite and COD is pretty bad and is not really good for people just getting introduced so most "new" players quit early on, it's just that fortnite and COD have a dedicated and established following so even tho they don't get "new" players they maintain a solidly massive player base.
casual gamers do not play ANYTHING that requires online play because they always get their ass kicked by the people that are naturals or that play it non-stop, thus dropping out....single player campaign games are most likely to attract casual gamers because they can plan it for a few hours a week when they have time... i know about this subject very well because i am one of the people described in the paragraph above....
he refers to da fans who loved dao the most for being more like crpg, but they keep playing the series just for story, even tho they're not happy with gameplay changes.
Thank you so much for this preview. I have been excited for this game as I really love the stories this series has given us. I was a little afraid of the direction of the combat from early rumors, but your video has calmed those fears. I'll be counting the remaining days until this releases!
I’m getting a mixed bag of cool-looking gameplay, bad character visuals, and some questionable designs. Haven't written it off yet, but as a Bioware fan, at least the Bioware that once was, there is a fair amount of disappointment.
Yeah, as some famous German games journalist recently said: "The Bioware we once knew is gone for good - deal with it !" Well, that kinda sucks, but... I´m starting to see his point +insert sad violin music here+ No, seriously, it makes me sad.
Yes.... all the kids care about is online gaming and it's sad I'm always trying my hardest to get my kids to play singleplayer games😂 I hate multiplayer I buy single player games only and I play a wide variety of games..I wish kids would support single player games alot more, these companies are gonna keep pushing out multiplayer focused games with micro transactions.....I just recently got silent hill 2 remake and I loved it more than the original and that says alot considering the original was my favorite horror game of all time, but I have a feeling it won't make what the company wants it to make and the franchise will be put right back on the shelf along with survival horror games for another 10 years
@@w0lfie00low standards. I don't recall any game in past 2 decades with such a low quality models. @@alexmurphy6574 yeah, that is true. This art direction does not suit dragon age well. It would be better if it looked like the previous ones, specially for Qunari... However, this art style is still better than fortnite shitty style
This is a good video and a very fair initial assessment. Im really looking forward to it and i like how the environments look. My only concern coming from someone who absolutely loved BG3 is the combat, but Im trying to keep an open mind since I ended up loving cyberpunk 2077 even though nornally i dont like those types of games.
Then you're in luck, I think. Most people who got to play it so far, despite varied opinions on other aspects, agree that combat is fun, reasonably fast-paced, and can be one of the game's strongest sides.
The action combat just does not look good to me. When you center a game around the combat and the combat itself is not good. 90% of the gaming experience is going to be crap. Artstyle looks like crap as well. I absolutely hate this overwhelming obsession of game mechanics catering to the casual gamer.
Dragon Age Origins...how far this Studio has fallen is shocking. Its also beyond me, how anyone could take this Artstyle etc. serious and consider this immersive. The targeted Audience has no connection to Origins. Zero interest on my part for the Game or its content, hard pass.
Can you save your character appearance or share them with a code? I don't want to spend 2 hours on the character creation again just to try out different class.

DA:O is one of my alltime favourite games, but by the time Inquisition came around, I was pretty sure we would never get a proper sequel to that game. Yes, it was much better than DA2 aka "Haven't I been to that cave already?", but exploration and side quest were soooo dull for the most part. Anyway, what I'm saying is, I'll go into this with an open mind and without any expectations of it being anything like DA:O, apart from the setting. It looks like a somewhat fun ARPG though.
@@poophead156 Only played the intro after fiddling for about an hour in character creation. So far, it's a fun action rpg. The combat has a nice flow to it and I already prefer it to the tactics/action hodgepodge from DA 2 and Inquisition. Can't say too much about the story and writing yet, although I will say the dialogue so far hasn't been great, but not cringeworthy either. Jolly is what I'd call it, very Marvel-y.
I have to say, when I saw the initial trailer, I hated it. The more I see of gameplay and the CC, I like the hair physics, but still hate it. I just don't understand why they made it so cartoony. And while there may be some "darker" sections to the game at some point, I cannot get past the character and monster designs, and that is everything to me in a dark fantasy game. You cannot make me engage and fully believe in a world where the demons look like they came from Looney Toons. The disconnect for me is very real. I was there for DA:O when it first came out and played that game SO much. I had a character for every backstory, every race...trying things out. It was so fun. This....ugh. I will try it, maybe (and that's a hard maybe). But I don't foresee myself running out to do a preorder or buying day one. Morrigan was one of my favorite characters in DA:O and when I saw what they did to her in Veilguard....completely laughable. I cannot take her seriously. And as everyone and their brother has said about the Qunari - WTF?! You cannot tell me that is a final design. And I know it is...but....come the f*** on. How. Why. I really wanted to love the game. I patiently waited for 10 years to get....a Temu mobile app version of DA.
the hair appearance and physics is about the only thing that impressed me with this game. But that isn't enough to make this worth spending time or money on. I will admit that I have never seen a game that did hair this good ever before. It looks incredibly lifelike.
art style is totally hideous. Characters look like some try-hard anime turned 3D. So disappointing after waiting 10 years after Inquisition. What a shitshow
Judging by the dislike-to-like ratio on newer and better trailers they've released, they are still not quite able to turn the table around, because that debut trailer's stigma remains deep.
There's literally nothing Bioware can do to make me want to buy this game now. Every time I learn something, I have even less interest in it and more hatred for it than I did prior to learning the new thing. I played Origins at least 4 times and I just have no interest in this.
I can't shake the feeling that all characters are transgender regardless you choose male of female, they look all the same way, simply bad and totally unattached to the epic environment. I don't know if you helped me to decide whether to buy the game, but probably as big fan of dragon age origin, I will pass and pretend that this game does not exist.
Can’t stand the are style. Some of the companions look like they should be in Toy Story. I’m also not a huge fan of them focusing on making sure they include characters from the book and comics (which many of us never read or care to) instead of including characters from previous games. Whoever made that decision is just… ugh.
When you say recreate our warden or inquistor, do you just mean you could make them again, or does the character creator specifcally ask if you want to recreate protagonists from older games?
Great review I felt it honest. This was the kind of review I needed. I will wait for more reviews after buying it because it does not convence me yet. The graphics does not fit with Dragon age style and the playstyle looks like a regular action game.
@@noctoi are you sure? Cause you can choose the options of your Inquisition world state, but it wouldn't be wild that if they added another moment like DA:I had where you only had to customize your Hawke as they appeared.

@@DizzyInfusion there *are* Templars in Tevinter. Tevinter is 'protestant', in that they have their own Divine, but they do have a Chantry and they do have Templars.
@@MPKLBN-t6vThat fact is really funny to me, cause almost every single thing of the lore is based on blood. Ancient blood mages got a taint in their blood for invading the Black City and after that they spread it not even amongst the living creatures with blood, but also on lyrium, which was always called the blood of Thedas itself and happened to be a blood of Titans. My most personal exciting thought about next DA game, when Dreadwolf was just announced, was the fact that it will take place in Tevinter, where the blood magic excels. Couldn’t even think that the game with lore based so heavy on blood will become so toothless in showing it.
Maybe i missed it in the video, did you get a chance to play it with both controller and keyboard? Seems like games are now more leaning towards controller use instead of keyboard mouse because of the console market.
Honestly? I WANT to be excited... but all the fan BS, the retconning, the gaslighting from both sides of the bioware cult wars, the facerolling button combos, the unnecessary fanning of 'woke hatred' by the devs and designers, the plot holes and the overly flashy/bright/bloomy/flairey animation, the utterly laughable qunari (JFC the qunari...) ridiculous and poorly explained enemy skins and sloppy combat physics are making it really difficult to maintain enthusiasm. I'm getting burned out on the game before it's even released and I was already extremely skeptical. I DO love the backdrop artwork, it's pretty. I like Tevinter, it's the only place the neon hypersaturated colours make sense. I like *some* of the more Origins compliant lore that's been buillt into the game. I'll never forgive the healing and blood magic and the Blight being a freaking debuff. I'll never want to play the combat parts of the game, because they ruined the role playing immersion for mages which is the only class I play. I dunno, I'm almost more excited to watch someone else's Lets Play, so I never have to deal with the combat and I don't need to get invested in the story too heavily. I don't want to feel that crushing disappointment when I see inaccuracies compared to the Original games.
Great video and helped answer some lingering questions I had. I really hope that come release you'll begin your theory crafting journey and releasing build guides etc. I hope you do as much for The Veilguard as you do for Elden Ring.
@7PlayingWithFire7 no the game just looks absolute garbage. If you think it looks good then buy it.... why has everyone got to have the same opinion as you?
A fair assessment of the game. Honestly though the change from Dark Fantasy to Disney is real turn off for me. Am gonna try the game to see whether the writing and characters became bad too.
Good review FL. It is hard not to hate the direction they are taking with the art style and dialogue options but it is good to hear some good things about the game. Probably will pick it up when there is a sale for it since there is no way I am fully supporting this cartoony style where everything is glowing and every character is overstylized
Thanks for going through all the trouble to make this. I know people think being a UA-camr is probably a can of corn, but going through all of that travel and putting all this stuff together isn't easy.
I personally really want to play it and keep hearing people who got to saying it's fun. But I think the biggest strike against it is that it's been ten years. Everyone has their own idea about what a DA sequel should be and crafted expectations in their heads of what the sequel should look like. As long as it's a fun game with enjoyable characters I will be happy. They're even doing deep dives in the lore for some of the stuff in this game so that's already a huge plus for me
Combat looks brain dead, no sense of skill or tactic and no player agency. World looks bland and uninspired. Art style is goofy and trying to hard to look like fortnite. That fact that they acknowledge how important the charcaters and world is to the franchise, then also make the decision have them play less of a role is mind boggling. This will be a typical case of diluting a tried and true formula, making unnecessary changes and opening up the game to those who dont care and wont play. A clear case of abandoning the core audience and ignoring things they want in a new game from a beloved franchise.
Of course it's good. The problem many have with it isn't that it's bad, it's that it's not Dragon Age. Slap any other name on this game and there would've been far less backlash.
slap any other name on it and it wouldnt have made it past the cutting room floor. the only reason this game has ANY attention is because of the name. no amount of dei or blackrock funding will make this woke slop look good.
At this point I feel like people need to seriously stop viewing games as a continuity and assess games as their own thing. It's almost like every sequel these days gets a bad rep before it even gets a chance to shine just because it is different from it's predecessors it would be one thing if people actually played the fucking game and said it was bad but there are so many nay-sayers that have no experience with the game simply because it doesn't confrom to what ever preconceived notions they have of what the new Dragon Age game should be. What happened to people letting a games reception speak for itself instead of tearing any non-masterpeice or controversial game down before it even has an opportunity to be objectively judged or appreciated. A good example of this bullshit is @scraggiies reply, someone who doesn't know a damn thing about the game mentioning BS they don't know about, people's main issue with this game is the combat taking a different direction, and the character visuals but yet someho this manifests in his/her eyes as Woke because reasons. For one it is literally mentioned in this video that characters aren't "player" sexual and have their own preferences and romance history that makes sense and that they will reject advances based of this, also it's not like there is anything about the game we have seen that is intentionally trying to appeal to any minority, or diversity community to any degree so how he came to the conclusion that the game is "woke slop" is beyond my admittedly limited human capacity to understand. The ONLY thing that could be used to support that argument is the art change but even that doesn't make any fucking sense as an art style can't be "Woke", an art style is an art style, it's not as if the art style is even objectively bad, it's just different and less gritty than before, so how that translates to DEI or Woke complaint's is beyond me. I swear people just want reasons to complain, personally I don't believe that everyone should like a game, but I do believe that people should try or give a game a chance before they have a static opinion, instead of hating like they know anything about the game when all they have is a third party information they can't even confirm.
My four biggest gripes are: That the gameplay looks dull despite being bright. The art styles not my thing at all. Like it either needs to go more grounds or more stylish. Like an awkward middle ground. The lack of prior games choices mattering at all. And the characters don't look quite right. Kinda uncanny valley.
My biggest worry is the narrative. So far, it seems Marvel-ized, which will turn anyone with any enjoyment of quality writing and serious moments away. I will only consider purchasing Veilguard if the narrative isn't Marvel-tier. 2:35 Welp, my worry is confirmed.
Every story is like that now. All these people writing can't do anything without referencing better people than them. They write nothing of their own, they just take pieces of what they like and piece it together and voilà
My biggest fear is another Andromeda story, bland, predictable, full of plot holes, lore unfriendly and characters who don't take the universe/setting serious.
It was a pc with a controller, I don’t know the specs. Performance was fine, but have to wait for a review copy to tell you how it runs on actual pc that I have vs whatever they had set up
the main thing that i like is the return to a mission based world. mass effect 2 and 3 had the perfect design for these story and character focused bioware games. Inquisition would have been a great game if there was no open world and more handcrafted story missions
You should watch the video "what class suits your playstyle in dragon age the veilguard" video: it's the best showcase of combat I've seen, and it looks really good there. Warriors have a shield and weapon + giant 2 handers, that you can switch on the fly
Is there an option to hide those three big diamond icons that are centered on the screen and blocking your center field of view? By the way, intelligent, fare, and sensible review.
Appreciate the balanced and nuanced review. Dragon Age is a game series I loved for many of the reasons you stated and it really hurt that I couldn't seem to get into Inquisition. Given your comments and view on what Veilguard is squaring up to be, it has at least given me the urge to give Inquisition another shot in the meantime.
I found the characters in Inquisition to be very bland overall, and although I beat the game twice, I never really felt that invested in the story. This looks to be more of the same but worse. I hate the art style, and nobody can gaslight me that some of the decisions weren't made to push an agenda. Even when I see somebody praising it, I am just unconvinced that it's worth the money. Even if the combat is great, I don't want to stare at ugly weirdness for hours; video games are visual media and I'm not going to apologize for caring about aesthetics.
This is probably the best preview I've seen on the game so far. It's not overly negative but it's not overly positive either. It's more neutral - helped by the flat voice - and highlights the good, the mid and the bad. I dunno, I love Origins and I really have come to enjoy II, and Inquisition despite its flaws I think is a decent game. But this one, I'm just not feeling it. I like the fact that it's more mission-based. I miss the the RTWP gameplay, but the combat looks fun for what it is. But after playing BG3 and other CRPG, this game just feels too basic. Really don't like how they've handled dialogue and conversation in this game from the snippets we've seen so far. I might get it when it's on sale, but I'm not getting it on release.
It looks promising. The combat looks fun and the areas look really cool. The U.I. Is terrible like a mobile game and I wish the art style and effects were less wacky and sparkly colorful but I’m cautiously optimistic
@@7PlayingWithFire7 I agree that the monster designs are terrible. It’s probably just personal preference. You enjoy bright colorful sparkly effects and art style. I do not. The series started with a more grounded style and has transitioned to a sparkly colorful style. It is what it is.
Does Rook actually say everything you select? Like, for example in BG3, you can select a long passage, but Tav doesn't actually say the words. Does Rook fully speak that kind of thing?
They speak but they don't say exactly what the dialogue option you pick says. It still conveys the same message though. It's been like that since dragon age 2
They won't, games need to make 100s of millions now to show to their investor overlords so the closer you can get to making your game fortnite the better...fans be damned.
Games are becoming increasingly expensive, and competition is fierce, so developers often turn games into live services (70% of EA's game revenue comes from live services, by the way) and/or try to cater to a broader audience. The problem is that big studios no longer make niche games because they don’t sell well. You just gotta accept this reality. However, indie and CRPG studios are still around.
The top surgery scars is wild.......The pandering is so f@#$ing weird. This decision really validates the implications we all feared over concerns about the art style(they did the Qunari soooo dirty), and how this will go hand in hand into quirky millenial writing pushing their morals onto gamers of their non-existent modern audience.
Combat is going to be awesome but the story will probably stunk seeing that we remember the layoffs of old veteran developers of Dragon Age due to a corrupt company.
So far excited. After cyberpunk I’ll never pre order again no matter what game it is but I am waiting hopefully for a post launch review to make sure before I buy.
Sorry but the graphics look like garbage to me. And the fact you can't control the party members makes it a huge step back compared to its predecessors. It shouldn't even be called Dragon Age at this point.
I played Origins multiple times when it came out and loved it. I never got around to DA2 and didn't play Inquisition at launch... installed it a few years later and didn't get into it. If this turns out to be great, I'll certainly give it a try. I'd like more review in the future on the game's art direction - the graphics and animations look dated/low-rez. There are great games without cutting edge graphics (Hades), but they often cost less and I suspect this will be a full price game.
I won't day one it, but if the reviews are decent like say 7 and above, I'll def get it. I like what I see mostly despite so many people are shitting on the game.
I predict this game will get at least a 7, probably 8.5. It looks like Mass Effect 2 tbh. People won't care about the lack of dark fantasy, and the monster designs, as long as the gameplay is solid and the story telling is good. It has all the hallmarks that Mass Effect 2 does.. Which is a shame cause to me personally Mass Effect 2 is the worst Mass Effect game, despite still being one of the best games of all time.
@@7PlayingWithFire7 So many people are trashing on the game just because of the art style, which I understand they prefer the darker tone, but I don't see anything wrong with it since this style looks nice too. Also, they keep bringing up Origin gameplay which is very outdated and wasn't that good to begin with. VG gameplay looks rad as shit.
One question, because I haven't seen anyone who got the chance to play it talk about it: what is the soundtrack like? I personally care a lot of soundtrack for immersion in a game.

Whoever was in charge of the body skeleton and Qunari, should just get fired
assuming modders even bother modding this garbage

Same. At first I just thought it looked like Inquisition (which does look cartoony. I don't care what anyone says to further their agenda against this game. Inquisition was cartoony). That said I don't particularly like this art style as I always prefer more realistic stuff but it does look a lot like Kingdom of Amalur which I didn't mind to be fair so if I can play that and Fable then I can play this even though I'd much prefer it was more akin to The Witcher in style like Origins but all the DA games have been Pixar games since then so it is what it is I suppose

well there was blood magic in the second game.
Also no spider monster either like wtf 😅
Should've made a game for the fans of the series first and foremost. You're not gonna attact casuals with this kinda game, they are busy playing games like Fortnite or COD.

Matchmaking in Fortnite and COD is pretty bad and is not really good for people just getting introduced so most "new" players quit early on, it's just that fortnite and COD have a dedicated and established following so even tho they don't get "new" players they maintain a solidly massive player base.

I share your opinion, have you tried it so far, if yes, how is it?
@@poophead156 Only played the intro after fiddling for about an hour in character creation. So far, it's a fun action rpg. The combat has a nice flow to it and I already prefer it to the tactics/action hodgepodge from DA 2 and Inquisition. Super excited for this! Other than the terrible first trailer everything since then has looked like I will greatly enjoy a trip back to Thedas
Thanks for the preview! will try this one!
Morrigan is in the game?! Where?!
the hair appearance and physics is about the only thing that impressed me with this game.

Is the axe the only two handed weapon a warrior will be able to use, or will there be like great swords
Thanks for going through all the trouble to make this. I know people think being a UA-camr is probably a can of corn, but going through all of that travel and putting all this stuff together isn't easy.
That Qunari's forehead is about 15 Gigabytes large.
My four biggest gripes are:
That the gameplay looks dull despite being bright.
Thanks for the video. Which platform did you play on and how was the performance?
It was a pc with a controller, I don’t know the specs. Performance was fine, but have to wait for a review copy to tell you how it runs on actual pc that I have vs whatever they had set up

the main thing that i like is the return to a mission based world. mass effect 2 and 3 had the perfect design for these story and character focused bioware games. Inquisition would have been a great game if there was no open world and more handcrafted story missions
I hope there are two handed swords and axes. The only warrior gameplay I've seen were these flimsy ass looking hammers.
You should watch the video "what class suits your playstyle in dragon age the veilguard" video: it's the best showcase of combat I've seen, and it looks really good there. Warriors have a shield and weapon + giant 2 handers, that you can switch on the fly
@@7PlayingWithFire7 I've watched multiple videos, and even showcases for warrior. They all show hammers and axes.
Thanks! Great coverage. I am actually more excited for the game after seeing hands-on responses from a very long play session.
Given your comments and view on what Veilguard is squaring up to be, it has at least given me the urge to give Inquisition another shot in the meantime.
ok, this is a source i respect and trust. Thanks bro.
Pre-ordered. Thanks for the early look. It helped me buy in.
The western AAA gaming market needs to crash asap because what the fuck is this?
It looks promising. The combat looks fun and the areas look really cool. The U.I. Is terrible like a mobile game and I wish the art style and effects were less wacky and sparkly colorful but I’m cautiously optimistic
I honestly do not get the hatred on the lights and the lighting. The issue is monster designs, not the hair and characters or lighting.
Pre-ordered the deluxe edition, and cant wait to get home from work & play! I've played and own them all.
This isn’t a Dragon Age game, it’s in name only. I’ll skip this until this fails, they learn their lesson, and give DA fans what we want
If this fails, they'll write off the Dragon Age franchise.
The top surgery scars is wild.......The pandering is so f@#$ing weird. This decision really validates the implications we all feared over concerns about the art style(they did the Qunari soooo dirty), and how this will go hand in hand into quirky millenial writing pushing their morals onto gamers of their non-existent modern audience.
you control the buttons you press
bro, you're playing dragon age not republican age, the series has been inclusive before it was even fashionable to do so
@@originzz I know....The top surgery is still stupid
@@KeepitABuck50 oh no, a character has scars that aren't battle scars ahh take lmao
@@originzz Take your pills
Combat is going to be awesome but the story will probably stunk seeing that we remember the layoffs of old veteran developers of Dragon Age due to a corrupt company.
I mean, apparently we could be the new Dreadwolf and that sounds sick
So far excited. After cyberpunk I’ll never pre order again no matter what game it is but I am waiting hopefully for a post launch review to make sure before I buy.
This game is a modern take on DA series. You may not be the intended audience. However, proceed with open mind and eyes closed.
This looks terrible compared to inquisition. They took like 10 steps backwards
Sorry but the graphics look like garbage to me. And the fact you can't control the party members makes it a huge step back compared to its predecessors. It shouldn't even be called Dragon Age at this point.
Hmm sorry for asking .. by any chance, is this Concord v2 ?!
Did you receive a review code because I wont be purchasing until i hear your opinion on it?
Why do you have to wait for other peoples opinions. Just play it yoyrself
Sorry this game just looks awful.... the first Dragon Age is one of my favourite games but tbh non of the sequels have ever matched it for me.
Looks good to me honestly. The art style is a big departure from the original dragon age game but... I think it'll be fun nonetheless!
One question, because I haven't seen anyone who got the chance to play it talk about it: what is the soundtrack like? I personally care a lot of soundtrack for immersion in a game.
