As a french law major, all our professors told us to follow this case because it is one of the biggest case in french law history just because Gisele not only lived something horrible but said no for the closed hearing, the trial is public and all the process of it even when they played video evidences. She asked for it to be public so that the shame must shift.

The fact that one of the defense lawyer said « il y a vi0l et vi0l » meaning there is rap3 and rap3 that some of the guys didn’t know she didn,t consent because dominique was with them during the thing. He literally played with the mens rea to get his clients away but the thing is that with all the details they should have known. So even legally it’s a super important case for criminal law majors

@@keenkee333 Your absolutely right, the more he got away with the bolder he got. This case is even more disgusting then Korea's Nth room cases only because the level of betrayal and I hope this case does change the way the law is worded to include consent. Both cases are some of the most vile cases Ive ever heard of and I'm not saying the Nth room is in anyway lesser Im just saying for the victim the level of betrayal has to be the worst thing about it, to think the man you've been with your entire life has been doing this

As a young French woman, the case has been haunting my life since the beginning of the trial and I'm not the only one. Many of us have started becoming even more sucpicious of every man we encounter on a daily basis. I talked about it with my mom, she said to be careful not to become too suspicious. "When I think about my male colleagues for example, I know them pretty well and they're respectable men."
"No mom, that's the thing, you don't know that for sure. You don't know who these men really are. Gisèle had no idea who her husband really was."

Exactly. There is something extremely wrong, because no woman who goes to the doctor excessively because she's having so much discomfort and issues is going to dismiss any attempt by her doctor to get tested and find out what's impacting her so badly. Someone tried to argue that she'd have denied testing, when she literally said she requested help, diagnostics, and treatment countless times. There's also yearly tests where women have the inside of our vaginas and cervix examined, so they would have seen discharge, redness, etc. For her cervix to be that inflamed, something was wrong with her visits, because they'd have seen that too. STDs that give you an inflamed cervix aren't just going to randomly inflame it some day, it's going to be inflamed much sooner, there would've been plenty of signs physically that would have to be ignored, and someone who wants diagnostics and treatment isn't likely to refuse testing and treatment. They went to you, to find out what's wrong and get help. 🤦🏽‍♂️

This case shows just how disregarded women are by medical professionals. All the neurological symptoms she was having over the years, the declining quality of life, signs of SA, STDs - and all her doctors, neurologists and gynecologists kept writing it off as stress? If it were one doctor, I would call it individual incompetency, but that many - that's just systemic medical misogyny. They all should be ashamed of themselves.

Same in the US tho. Doctors won’t give us pain meds like they do men, they disregard our symptoms, they don’t allow us freedom of choice, they aren’t educated on women’s health, all drug trials were on men only into the modern age so we don’t even know how they actually work on women and they definitely don’t care about any reproductive health care!😢

    • @Mercyfalls

As an optimist I'd hope this is more of a sign that no medical professional could even comprehend such a horrible, vile & cruel crime as a possibility rather than a more "mundane" explaination like illness or stress.
(And the STDs at least weren't known before this came out which is the only thing which could only have a sexual explanation)
However the sad reality is that these aren't just possibilities but things that DO happen, they become fathomable and must be checked. Medical professionals can't be naively opptimistic, they need to be educated about cases like this.

The scariest part being that he easily found 70+ men to assault an unconscious woman, and more men who agreed to let him do the same to their wives... so, not all men, but a lot of men. I hope these guys never get a day of peace again.

Not only that but they never spoke to her. She didn't ever tell any one of them personally she was okay with it. If it's just a consensual kink then you have everyone's expressed consent. They never got hers. She's unconscious, if you "have sex with" an unconscious person, it's rape. Simple. End of. The only exception is when the person has full rights to rescind consent at any point whatsoever, and while fully with it and mentally stabl, under zero coercion, zero influence of any kind, has given explicit consent, and only consenting parties are involved, and consent is excruciatingly clear and not even remotely influenced by others, drugs, alcohol, or natural drugs.
If someone's unconscious, you know what you're doing to them is wrong. Thinking men own women is a whole entire level of despicable that continuously gets more and more uncovered by society as time goes on. People still think that way. Men still talk about women that way to their buddies. And it's insane.

Because of the way rap3 is defined legally in France, the defense is trying to argue that the r@pists didn’t know she wasn’t consenting and since there wasn’t any force, threat or surprise used, it’s not really rap3.
Even though the group chat the husband used was called "à son insu" which means to do something to someone without the person knowing it. They all knew exactly what they were doing.
Some netizens are doubting Gisèle, even after Dominique confessed to everything, even after the thousands of pictures and videos in evidence.

a few additional things i’d like to talk about:
    - the reason the girls who were being filmed under the skirt by dominique pélicot reported the event is thanks to a security agent. the video of him filming under the skirts has been published by Paris Match and in it, you can hear the security agent say: “your phone takes good shots! (to dominique pélicot). he was filming under your dress!” (to one of the girls, who then responds “no, no, no” (she did not believe he was doing that at this point). the agent responded by saying “yeah, yeah, yeah, are you going to file a complaint? he was filming under your dress, the phone like that, just now. are you going file a complaint?” (his tone suggests he is pressuring them to confirm they will do so). we can then hear someone in the agent’s walkie-talkie say “that makes four clients”, as in female clients that had been filmed, yet in the video he was “only” recording two girls, the other ones were filmed a few minutes before he was caught. one of the girls who was being filmed said “is that true?”, in disbelief, and the agent continued talking, saying “i’m not here to have fun, we’ve been following him with the camera, he’s done that four times! go on, (he said “allez” which is a french interjection that, in this context, is basically a threat meaning he doesn’t want to see dominique pélicot any additional second in the supermarket) police! to the police, now!” (dominique pélicot then tries to move). the agent tells him “you’re staying here, you! you’re not going anywhere.” to one of the girls again: “madame, i’m counting on you to sue him. he was filming under your dress. go on, to the police! you’re calling them right now for me! and the other clients? (the other women that had been filmed) fuck, we should’ve gone and found them. there are three others.” to dominique pélicot again: “you’re a disgusting pig, you, really. yeah, you’re a disgusting pig! (pause) you’re in luck, i swear, had it been my mother, i would’ve ripped your head off. we’re going to wait for them (the police) in the arraignment room.” (he then takes the phone away from dominique pélicot and talks to the girls). “madame, how are we going to proceed now? i’m going to let you finish grocery shopping, i’m taking your contact details and i’ll call you back as soon as the police are here so you can file a complaint. because right now you must go on with the procedure until the end. this type of behaviour, it’s… (he sighs). he wasn’t able to delete the videos, i took his phone away. yes, it’s the third time that he does that with these women” (to the person in the walkie-talkie). a big THANK YOU to this security agent. he acted the exact right way and is the reason everything was uncovered. (source: Paris Match)
    - dominique pélicot said that out of every man he talked to on the platform he organised the r@pes, about 7 out of 10 agreed to r@pe Gisèle, while about 3 out of 10 refused to. but NONE of them reported what was happening to the police. NONE. (sources: contre-attaque, libération)
    - Coraline, Gisèle’s daughter, said that according to professionals, Gisèle would have died in 2021 from the drugging if nothing had been uncovered and dominique pélicot had kept drugging and abusing her with the same dosing and frequency. (source: Caroline in Ça commence aujourd’hui, video is available on Ça commence aujourd’hui’s youtube channel under the title “Procès de Mazan: le “père” de Caroline a drogué sa mère pendant 10 ans pour la livrer à des hommes”)
    - one of Gisèle’s r@pist, Joan K., r@ped her the day his daughter was born. (source: La Provence)
    - dominique pélicot stated during the trial: “i’m a r@pist just like the other ones in this room. they all knew, they can’t contradict that.” (source: AFP)
edit: added some sources, corrected the translation of the video of the security agent catching dominique pélicot, and added the last point.

First, thank you for talking about this case as the victim wanted it to reach the biggest audience possible. Shame has to change side.
Second, and this is my main point: as a french activist said, this is not simply a terrible story, this is also a sociological case of "banality of evil", illustrating how any man, father, doctor, firefighter, young or old etc, has the potential to be a rapist under specific circumstances, as that's what society lead them to be through patriarchy and r*pe culture. All men should question themselves on how different they truly are from these 51 men, and look deep into the social constructs they have internalized and which could be part of the same mechanisms as the ones which led these men to commit the unthinkable horror. This case should all make us say: yes ALL MEN!

    • @codykeane6107
      @codykeane6107 День тому

You say you know for a fact but you don't. Firstly a routine blood test doesn’t detect drugs whatsoever, you need to order a seperate 10 screen drug test which doctors don't really do because how does knowing you take illegal drugs help diagnose a medical condition - it doesn't. The main drug used was Lorazepam which is a benzo that is notorious for not showing up on drug tests producing a false negative. More importantly she was already prescribed Lorazepam for her anxiety and with benzos you can't detect the amount only that the metabolite is there or not - so even if they did do the drug test which there was no reason to it would of just shown her prescription meds which to every doctor on the planet is an expected finding and wouldn't of indicated anything of course her medication is in her system. Where did you get that the doctors didn't even bother to check if she had STDs? She said herself she didn't have any idea she had STDs, and we have no idea what they are only that she tested negative for HIV - so if we don't know what they are(and how they could of effected her) and she didn't have any symptoms according to her how are you expecting a doctor to pickup on it? And going further to say they didn't bother because she was married, where was that mentioned? Atleast have a bit of understanding of the situation before you go accusing doctors of malpractice and needing to be investigated.

I left France because of the levels of misogyny/sexual harassment in the workplace as well as discrepancies between salaries of men vs women. Growing up in Paris, mums drill into their daughters that it’s dangerous and culturally unacceptable to show too much skin, especially in the métro! If your skirt is too short or your cleavage too prominent, women will tell you to your face that if you get attacked, you just begged for it.
Moving to liberated London where women of any shape of form can wear whatever they fancy and tell men “what are you looking at, you perv?!” was sooooo freeing!

@@FeelTehPOWA no unfortunately not just France Ur right. Tho sum societies more prone to this stuff. I've been living in France for to long to know there's a societal problem that makes it possible for these things to happen here. Spain has really stepped up feminist laws in recent years. I live there as well half of the year and the difference in mentality is huge. Spain is way more tough against rapists and such. France still got this Hush Hush mentality. Impunity culture and laxist law system. Almost to the absurd. Even now they trying to make the perpetrator Dominique into a victim. At some point one has to draw the line and quit empathising with serial rapists for the sake of the whole society. It's really sick if you ask me honestly.

I don’t think I can ever look at people especially men the same way again. Everyone to me, could potentially guilty of unspeakable perversion and evil. You can’t even trust the person you devoted your life to since age 18. The person who lies next to you every night. Your lover and best friend and the father of your children.
Wow. To me everyone is potentially a deviant evil person. Even normal people off the stress were coming in to assault this poor woman. It’s utterly disgusting and scary. This perturbs and disturbs me to my core.

I'm surprised that the idea that anyone you know could be evil is new to you. I don't think I could pinpoint a time in my life before knowing that the spouse is the first suspect in murder cases, that you have to be careful when dating because date-rape is a thing, that child abuse and neglect is a thing. You'll learn to live with the knowledge though. You don't have to spend your life in fear. I recommend taking self defence classes. Most cases aren't like this. Most attacks involve intimidation, violence or being physically overpowered. Taking a self defence class will help you to feel a lot safer and genuinely do help most of the time. If you learn nothing else learn an arm lock, that's helped me out a few times. How to get out of a choke hold is another good to know move.

I think one of the unspoken heroes of this story is the supermarket security guard. He’s the one who found out the asshole was filming. After that, he pushed for the women to press charges. It’s because a case was opened that the monster’s devices could be reviewed by the police.

Are you serious? A Bear over man? From what I understand less than 1% of men are like that and 99% of bear if I am not wrong during first close encounter will strike you with its paw with an average 800-1200kg force power causing you to go into coma or instant death then they could aggressively bite you with its razor sharp teeth penetrating either your eyes, face, neck etc, causing you immerse pain and tearing you bit by bit apart after that with whatever arsenal it has. Your corpse will become one of the most unrecognisable one after the ordeal and the pain of dying in this process is immeasurable. Everyone in your family or people who love you will grief about your gruesome death and possibly weep, 😢 including some of them being man.
The issue here is don’t spread false ideology about humankind or men. It’s not as bad as you think. If you don’t find a good man because of your thinking, don’t stop others from finding one.
You might seriously need to look into your life and find more meaningful things to go after than just hating the male population. Your propaganda is destructive to humankind as a whole and you haven’t realised it yet.
Put me with 10 men on the jungle and we will survive together.
