The Splatoon series has felt like the subsequent months of the Summer. It also helps that their release times reflect that. Splatoon 1 released in late May, so it makes sense why it feels like June. Splatoon 2 released in mid-late July, and Splatoon 2 feels like July to me. And then Splatoon 3 released in early September, and so it feels like general late summer vibes, like Summer's almost over and we're about to go back to school.
