That is a perfectly fair and valid perspective. I can certainly understand if that is what you got out of the game. That said, our perspectives are different. I personally found it quite difficult to get truly bored of the game, but that's kinda just how games like this go. Some people love the game for reasons that others may dislike it.

@@RetoroGamma_Gaming did you play Botw? I put in 750 hours in that game so yeah TOTK felt the same. Plus the main gimmick to build was tedious.

@@Andysantiago7 I did. I enjoyed BotW. I personally felt as though the changes made to the world was sufficient to warrant TotK. I would have been harsher on TotK if it was trying to be a different or new Hyrule, but the implication was that not much time has passed. I was willing to excuse its similar layout, general openness, and lack of drastic changes because of the canon passage of time. It would be unacceptable if they, for example, sold the game as being the next generation of Hylians. But, again, that's just the way I felt about it. I'm glad to hear this feedback because it helps shape how I can improve upon the rating system moving forward.

No games worth $70! It'll probably be the first and last game I pay that much for . I think most game developers are going to learn that the hard way and indy games are going make a huge come back .

That’s actually something I didn’t know; I had no idea they compared BotW to Skyrim (or at least used it as reference). Having never personally played Skyrim, but watched people play it, I can certainly agree that comparative to it, BotW (and TotK by proxy) feels empty. Skyrim, though, is one of those peak open-world games that has consistently stood the test of time. Skyrim in of itself is a more popular name in the gaming community than its larger series name “The Elder Scrolls”, and for good reason: it just does mostly everything right, particularly for its time. If Nintendo plans to make another Zelda game like these, more referencing from Skyrim would be great tbh. They just gotta take notes and grow. Appreciate your perspective on this.

@@RetoroGamma_Gaming I'd say Elderscrolls and Zelda as series are more on par with each other in popularity. Skyrim itself might be more well known though Im not entirely sure as I play both and dont really keep up much with the more hardcore aspects of the communities. The 2 games however are very different in how they approach open world design, Skyrim being more packed is that it is more of a player driven RPG than TOTK which I feel is more story driven. The newer Zelda games, specifically BOTW and TOTK are quite good but they don't quite scratch the itch I look for in a Zelda games unfortunately. I would recommend playing Skyrim if you get the chance like more in-depth RPGs. It is a far more of a casual RPG than the other Elderscrolls games. Perfect for what I want on my RPGs personally.

@@j1rj1r Certainly taking that into consideration. Who knows, I may play it on the channel sometime in the future. From what I've seen, I do agree that their approaches diverge whilst still respecting the concept of an open world. And I can also understand why BotW and TotK don't quite scratch that itch.

Alright, so, pertaining to Tears of the Kingdom: I have since completed the game on my own time. I am in the process of editing my review of the entire experience, as well as working on uploading my Splatoon Grand Festival video. There won't be anymore gameplay videos for TotK, but there will be a review, which I hope will be satisfactory. Sometime this year, I intend to upload gameplay of Echoes of Wisdom, hopefully with similar energy to the TotK series. I'm not sure how many episodes I'll do of that game, but regarding TotK, there aren't anymore gameplay videos; I didn't record my audio when filming for the review. That said, I may revisit TotK, as I deem it to be an exceptional game, and I may even still make a followup video going over some sidequests that I have still yet to complete. Sound like something you'd be interested in?

Based on how I understand that term, technically yes, but actually no. “Metroidvania” usually refers to 2D games that make platforming, weapon upgrading, and backtracking their primary characteristics. The Metroid Prime series does have most of those things, but in different ways, and the games are 3D. I’d more closely identify this as first-person action/adventure with a pinch of Metroidvania, but then again, I haven’t played the game, so idk just how much is in it.

Metroid is where part of the term came from, so yeah lol. But more seriously, while the Metroid Prime games are FPS instead of 2D sidescrollers, they still emphasize metroidvania exploration and upgrades over shooting combat, so they are still Metroidvanias. We'll have to see how much Prime 4 shakes things up, but I expect it will be pretty similar to the first three where it counts.

Definitely a possibility. I do wonder what the successor's launch titles will be.

The Splatoon series has felt like the subsequent months of the Summer. It also helps that their release times reflect that. Splatoon 1 released in late May, so it makes sense why it feels like June. Splatoon 2 released in mid-late July, and Splatoon 2 feels like July to me. And then Splatoon 3 released in early September, and so it feels like general late summer vibes, like Summer's almost over and we're about to go back to school.

I figured not enough people watched my channel to warrant me making time stamps, but this video proved me wrong. Future news vids will have time stamps, and I may change up the format so “Thumbnail Stories” come first as opposed to Grand Finale last, like I had been doing.
