This was such a amazing video. My Grandfather lived to be over 99, my Grandmother was 95. He refused to pass away until his Jennie went first. He wasn’t going to leave her. This brought back so many memories. Thank you for all you do.
Darlene that is what I want. I'm 65, hope I have more years to celebrate family. But, when it's time for me to go, I want to go before my husband. Here on earth he is literally my everything. It is a shame family left everything, but if family doesn't want it or not in touch with family members this happens.
I'm always mystified why so many precious pictures and family treasures get left behind. I always feel so sad when I see them. Thankfully you show respect and treat their things like they are your own. Thank you for that!
It saddens me that this large family just abandoned this entire property, even sadder, they left family photos & heirlooms behind😢. I would love to have some heirlooms of my grandparents, great-grandparents and so forth.
The photo at 11:40 is not the daughter but the Duke and Duchess of Bragança. He is the head of the Portuguese Royal family and for monarchists considered the King of Portugal. Excellent video as usual, thank you for documenting this lovely home!
A grand family of monarchists & patriots of a bygone era, enthralling to see into the past, these people lived through religion and the state, an era now long passed and one we will never witness again...I found this episode chilling to watch although very interesting as well as insightful... Well done Lesley, your costume was perfectly on point!!!
My mom lives in Spain. She have a lot of portrait of the king and Queen of Spain and there’s family all over our house like they are family, but had nothing to do with us. It is something common in Europe, having the Queens and King and their family pictures in our homes.
This is an amazing home. The views are spectacular. The house was very well kept. The garden has beautiful blue hydrangeas. Such a great explore. In its glory days this mansion would be amazingly beautiful. It’s sad to watch it decay. Thank you Leslie and Danny for this wonderful video.
Such a wonderful Portuguese mansion! I love the family pictures and the precious antiques; the living room looks amazing with so many items in still a good condition and the chapel is really impressive! The traditional suit looks great on you, Lesley! Thank you, guys, for this wonderful exploration!!! ❤
I can’t believe the furniture would be abandoned along with so many other things. It just seems like such a waste. It hurts my heart. I’ll never understand why people do that. I know there’s many reasons, but I would think something could be done with them. I would love to be able to go back in time just for one day to see what it was like. Thank you so much for these videos.❤ from Wisconsin
The ceiling medallion in the main dining room is beautiful. I love the way this house is laid out. The views from the courtyard are fantastic, the house had so much personality. What a lovely place it was in its time.
Love this one. Because, no vandalize in this historical house. To bad, it can't be brought to life again. Love how you are so gentle and respect you are. ❤
Seeing these abandoned old houses makes me a little sad, but also makes me realize that it is better to live a simple life, because everything will pass with the passage of time. This makes me cherish the time I spend with my loved ones more, because I know that one day we will all be separated. I hope you close the door when you leave, at least the house can stay in good condition longer. I can't imagine that if the door is open, the wind and rain will cause greater damage to the house.
Fairly new to your channel~ I love watching the way you explore abandoned places. You don't just show an abandoned property...you tell its story. As a viewer, through your exploration, you made this abandoned home feel alive again by sharing the story of Nilsa and her family.
This place is stunning, historical time captures, everything inside the home is beautiful, love the architecture in the dining room and the furniture, love the design of the home and the area of the house outside view is stunning, it’s far from everything and it’s sad to see a beautiful home like this got left abandoned, thank you for sharing.
I appreciate your effort to find, film and show us these jems. Sad that all these people are in the photos, and none of them bothered to come and collect the photos to save them.
Please always put the photos you find in the safest place in the safest driest manner possible! Who knows who might turn up in a month, a year and cherish them?
As time marches on, older people do not relate to the past so much, as in photographs. I think this is because it stirs too many feelings of emotions that may be sad.
So nice to see such a beautiful Portuguese traditional country house with a coral in the middle. Always sad to see so many family heirlooms and photos left behind. Leslie always looks great when he dresses in antique clothes of the era of the house
This to date is my favourite of all the houses so far; maybe it's because it's in a gorgeous setting in Portugal, maybe it's the design of the home; I sure wish it could be brought back to life.
This was one of the nicest I’ve seen so far, looks like it would of been Beautiful back in the day with those Beautiful flowers all in the courtyard loved it guys
really don't understand how come the owners of this beautiful mention left such a great place just like that and didn't take the most valuable things thank you Lesley for showing us such beauty
Exactly, there are times when the aged pass on and no will has been left or the surviving family members have their own homes & furnishings, these places are just left as is, I'm sure much had been removed from this property by relatives but they can't take everything, also the estate may be in abeyance or owing death duties. There are many aspects and reasons why these homes are left derelict, you would be surprised... Also access to this specific property is limited making it difficult removing furniture and the like...Lesley, Thank You for another riveting explore, as always done with great reverence & grace, I enjoy your exploits immensely & so very professional too!!!
😂 your comment about a courtyard in an entrance really got him thinking that she must have money...... hello darling are you safe from Covid???😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂 I'm dead!!! Thank you for this giggle. I really needed this evening!! Much ❤️ from 🇨🇦!❤
Saddening to see those stuff just left there...watching things like this made me realized that I shd not buy things, bec when we leave they will be left behind.
Magnificent... Oh my God... I still can't imagine how people just leave every thing behind and vanish away leaving their memories and history behind abandoned for 10's of years and leave it to decay and get back to nature.... I am from Jordan, and have been following you videos for almost a month, watching around 4 videos every day... I can't believe my eyes man.... and my question: haven't you or anybody try to get in contact with their children or relatives? I feel sorry for all this amazing things to be left for nature, animals and decay!!! why don't they turn it to museums instead?? all the best to you ... and I'm one of thousand waiting for your explorations... Kindest regards from Amman - Jordan
Your videos are charming to watch. You honor those who once called their home, their sanctuary with respect and enlightenment, while transporting the viewers to a time when the home was alive by presenting all the artifacts and infrastructures of the home. Thanks for making these videos.
Very Beautiful and what a lost heritage, no family who cares to continue what took a life time to create and maintain. The courtyard full of light blue hydrangea was over grown but was obviously a highlight of the vineyard home. Just spectacular ❤
I am amazed that so many family photos would be left behind....so very sad!! It is also amazing that no one has stolen any of the items left in the house!
What a treasure this exploration is! I absolutely love how reverently respectful you always are with all of your explorations, & your narrations are always a welcome reflection of your own imagination, rather than just what you can actually see - so you really bring the inhabitants back to life again, giving the homes themselves life once again : ) I think that's what appeals to me the most about your specific videos. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us : ) Much love from Australia 🇦🇺❤️n
Wow! Lesley and Danny that was a journey getting to that enormous farm house. Walking inside was breathtaking. The furnishing, pictures and all those beautiful knickknacks are so precious and beautiful. For what ever reason why everything was left behind, I'm glad you're able to find this gem and record it. I love all your videos, but I think this one is one of my favorite ❤. Thank you for sharing another awesome video! See you on your next adventure guys!! 🚘 (Lesley, just don't look up 🦇 lol)
Thank you both so much for showing us another amazing home in Portugal. I live in the USA - California. My family heritage lived in Italy and came to America in late 1800’s, so always love to see your time-period episodes. Thank you for all you do; for your time and careful dedication in capturing these beautiful and soon to be lost, mansions and royal family homes. What it would be like to have a job exploring and capturing beauty from a different time. Take care from Cali. Looking forward to “our” next adventure!
Wow, this place is so amazing and beautiful. This place hasn't been abandoned as long as some. Also looks like it would still be liveable with not as much extreme repair as some places. Too bad someone wouldn't come and do so. Garden is beautiful, imagine with some trimming and clearing up of the bushyness. Okay Leslie here's your future home😊😉🙃💜💜💜
I love the house and furniture, but I also notice the outside the hydrangeas with the blue flowers people here in America take extra care of them and these are big and beautiful left there in the weeds and other things, simply amazing you guys ❤it and y’all thanks so much!
I hope someday,at least one of the Family will save the home before it falls into total dust..😢 You both are considerate and it is good to see young people love History!!🥰👍💯
I've never seen so many beautiful Hydrangeas flowers in one place.Usually they mixed with pink ones and blue ones and white. They cost a fortune at a flower shop. And they smell so good. What an awesome place. Thanks guys 👍❤️🇺🇸
When you were in the dining room and showed the carving in the chest it reminded me of a bar I once had in my kitchen. The top of the bar was covered in tile but I hadn't noticed any of the pieces in the dining room having tile. I wondered if my bar might have been made in Portugal. My husband worked for a small business that refinished furniture and that's how we got the bar. When you left the room with the bats the tile on the walls of the hallway was the same color and pattern as the tile on my bar. I sold the bar over 30 years ago to one of my cousins because it was too big for the room but I enjoyed the feeling of nostalgia you gave me. I do hope the furniture will be removed and restored. It's too beautiful to let decay.
Hermoso programa, es realmente una pena ver que lugares llenos de historia sean abandonados. Felicitaciones por darles vida una vez más. Saludos desde Estocolmo.
The mansion is so happy that you are there Lesley. It is in its swan song in looking beautiful to you. You have once again captured the house’s pride and heart ❤️.
Of all the homes that you have shown, this is my favorite 💕 If I were wealthy I would purchase it, in a heartbeat 💓 I'm in awe of the landscape and beauty of the house.
This was a great video, with two of my favorite intrepid explorers. It is still a beautiful house, despite the decay. I'm also glad that Lesley and Danny weren't mauled by the cows or bitten by the bats, and I especially love that the unexpected, often funny, incidences aren't edited out of these videos. Great job, guys!
Though I have only seen a half dozen or so of your wonderful videos, this is is by far, for me, the best place you have featured. What a sin that it has been abandoned with all the beautiful furniture and family's personal effects. The hall wall tiles and the formal dining room furniture are absolutely stunning. It should be offered up for sale and completely restored. What a beautiful setting and gorgeous view; so peaceful and serene. Thank you for posting this beautiful estate. Lesley, you look so handsome in Danny's traditional clothing. I need to make a point of watching many more of your excellent videos.
I cannot say oooooh and aaaaaah with you because this is a tragedy happening in slow motion . Without active family participation and ownership , when these buildings begin to fail all these things will rot and be lost to time . Hate to see so many useful and beautiful things go completely to waste . 😞
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. I think this one is THE BEST EXPLORE you and Danny captured this amazing property that’ll be forever remembered. Thank you both for this wonderful video. Lots of love to you both.
This was a beating exploration. The house had so much love in it for family but the business as well. I understand why they left everything because it is just things. Now that everyone was gone it had too many memories. If you keep too many keepsakes from the people who died you can never move forward. It is well persevered considering all the years. Thanks for the great adventure and can't wait to see next week.
Wow, another great find, Lesley. Thanks for showing us this amazing place. We appreciate your gentleness and respect shown during all your explorations, and in paying homage to the families that once called it 'home'. The chapel scenes were amazing, too. The small cubicle above the altar is the 'tabernacle', where the ciborium is kept. The 'cup' you handled is a 'chalice'. Thanks again to you and Danny for all you do! Can't wait for your next show. Best wishes from Oklahoma.
Wow this is pretty unbelievable, the way the flowers are still in vases, it’s like a set from a movie, such a pity we can’t see it how it was just for a moment, thank you showing, loved very much ❤
I love your videos. I really wish when you come across so many old books you would film more about what they are and when published. Books tell a lot about the people who lived in the old world. Appreciate your work. Maybe take it into consideration re: the books. Love and Blessings from Arizona ❤️🙏🏻
I love how you mention the culture, i have family from Portugal. I cant understand how people could leave it All behind. With alk the family, you would think someone would inherit it all. Thank you for great viedo
I really love your videos, we don't have a lot of abandoned houses in my country so this is really interesting to me. It just like a time capsule. Thanks for this videos Lesley. Greetings from the Philippines.
I always think what a shame that all the beautiful furniture which could be restored, all the books, just sitting there wasting away. She had children and other family members I can’t understand why thry don’t want to restore it. If it was in one of our family property we wouldn’t hesitate to restore all the buildings. Very interesting video and such a change from all the French chateaus
They are linked to a "famous" old Portuguese family. D. Duarte and Isabel de Heredia, that's for sure, the picture of the wedding and they don't show o brasão of the family?!!!
I think it is because they want to live near the city, and the house is in the country. Apparently, a lot of nice houses sit empty because most of the people who can afford them prefer to live in cities. Those people simply have no interest in a house in the middle of nowhere. Living in the country is nice, but when you have millions, I guess you can get more services in the city.
Hey hey, dear Lesley, What an interesting background story for that beautiful mansion embedded in the Portuguese country. I am already waiting with pleasure and excitement for the lifestream, my friend. Wishing you all the best, peace and kindest regards.
Loved this video I love watching you and Danny you two are so much fun and I love how Danny helps you out, mostly I’m waiting for the bats to come out and scare you Lesley it makes the video love how the rooms look and in the one bedroom where you said it was a dresser it is called a closet you hang up your special clothes and the dressers are used for under garments. Great find love you guys take care and be safe.
So beautiful and so old.. I can see, in my minds eye, how the garden in the middle would have looked. I love thé skylights and the windows everywhere. Thank you for showing me this place!
Honestly.. they knew. There’s no way they didn’t know. Many people up and live without taking items with them, especially in these times. I’ve seen people up and leave expecting the next person to finish what they couldn’t get rid of. So depressing, but still beautiful to see as viewers❤.
Mi chiedo come sia possibile lasciare al degrado tutta questa bellezza storica!! Nessuno che se occupi.... peccato ...un bellissimo video bravi ragazzi.👏👏👏
Portugal is know for beautiful needlework, especially from Madeira, and I enjoyed seeing all the runners and coverlets. That was a pretty home, tastefully decorated, and I especially liked the little breakfast room. Nice attention to details, Leslie and compliments to Danny for his filming skills. Thank you!
I love how careful and respectful you are with everything you pick up to show us such magnificent things you find on these abandoned houses. Can’t just imagine how they end up abandoned and no relatives to care for them. Interesting!! ❤
Very enjoyable video as always. I get stressed watching these videos wondering if you close all windows and doors, because if you don't it will only hasten the deterioration. You seem very respectful of the properties and contents, so I'm guessing that you take every care to leave the place exactly as you found it
I love ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ this place what a museum this could be, that way everyone could enjoy 😉 this place, I'm glad you guys can show me, even the outfit is so fitting ❤️ 😊, great job
Buongiorno Lesley e Danny Bella esplorazione Altri viticoltori Non capisco perché abbandonano tutto case ricordi ..un vero peccato .. Grazie siete veramente super❤😊🍀🍀🍀💪💪💪

My great-grandmother died at the age of 102. She survived the Holodomor and the Second World War.
@@Karusevic23444 wow, that is amazing family history.

How can the family leave all this beautiful stuff and souvenirs behind. So sad. You guys did it justice.
They want their WiFi and morning drive through coffee and a 5 minutes drive from downtown.
Geez. .!!
Because rich people like up grading and continuing to buy houses and other things
Sometimes all kind of probate issues makes it cheaper to walk away not bcz is what you want but can’t afford taxes and legal fees
@@Kzvuyp
But taxes do not prevent family taking photos and families mementos with them!

Great and nice farms whit respectful and scharming absolutely magneficent beautiful desings thank you
the blue flowers (hydrangea) can change colors based on soil acid. My mom used to dry them and make a wreath for the holidays.
Wonderful home and beautiful furniture and the ceilings and tiles. I really enjoyed this video and thank you. The chapel was terrific. Thank you both

I hope someday,at least one of the Family will save the home before it falls into total dust..😢 You both are considerate and it is good to see young people love History!!🥰👍💯
La maison est morte, parce que la famille l'a abandonner.
I've never seen so many beautiful Hydrangeas flowers in one place.Usually they mixed with pink ones and blue ones and white. They cost a fortune at a flower shop. And they smell so good. What an awesome place. Thanks guys 👍❤️🇺🇸
Really? They are everywhere here in Portugal.
Makes me want to go to Portugal. Very beautiful country!
Great places to and courges amaizing thank you
What a beautiful mansion. Very well taken care of. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe 👌 👍 🙏 ❤ 💓 💙
Hermoso programa, es realmente una pena ver que lugares llenos de historia sean abandonados. Felicitaciones por darles vida una vez más. Saludos desde Estocolmo.
Hi Lesley 👋 👋
Greetings from Suzy, Dustin, and Milo 😀
I'm super ready to watch this episode.
That’s priceless thank you for your awesome tours.❤️👍
The mansion is so happy that you are there Lesley. It is in its swan song in looking beautiful to you. You have once again captured the house’s pride and heart ❤️.
Of all the homes that you have shown, this is my favorite 💕
If I were wealthy I would purchase it, in a heartbeat 💓
I'm in awe of the landscape and beauty of the house.
Très belle vidéo agréable à regarder !👍😜♥️👏👏👏👏
It just boggles my mind that so much heritage is left abandoned...it breaks my heart and yet I'm in awe of it.
How wonderful, someone should save this house
I agree on that, hi there how are you doing do you enjoy watching it?
Dịch qua tiếng việt
Yes why dont family members save the stuff?
The beautiful furniture in all these homes would sell for thousands in the U.S.
Because they probably don't care, which is a very stupid reason, or they just don't have the money. Or probably some heritage dispute.
Bros of Decay, sei un grande esploratore.
Hey hey, dear Lesley, What an interesting background story for that beautiful mansion embedded in the Portuguese country.
I am already waiting with pleasure and excitement for the lifestream, my friend. Wishing you all the best, peace and kindest regards.
Great places and beautiful whit respectful and thank you
Loved this video I love watching you and Danny you two are so much fun and I love how Danny helps you out, mostly I’m waiting for the bats to come out and scare you Lesley it makes the video love how the rooms look and in the one bedroom where you said it was a dresser it is called a closet you hang up your special clothes and the dressers are used for under garments. Great find love you guys take care and be safe.
I love how Danny can interpret for Lesley.
So beautiful and so old.. I can see, in my minds eye, how the garden in the middle would have looked. I love thé skylights and the windows everywhere. Thank you for showing me this place!
I wonder what the families that lived in these houses would think if they knew that everything was abandoned.
They didn’t think anything differently from every single other person. The end wasn’t thought about. No one dwells on the end and it symptoms.
Honestly.. they knew. There’s no way they didn’t know. Many people up and live without taking items with them, especially in these times. I’ve seen people up and leave expecting the next person to finish what they couldn’t get rid of.
So depressing, but still beautiful to see as viewers❤.
Wars causes people to up and move quickly.
I am from India and Portugal always fascinates me. The architecture, the people, religion, culture all of it 😍❤️
Beautiful place. I love the dinning room! That china cabinet made me drool lol. Thankyou for the tour :))
Mi chiedo come sia possibile lasciare al degrado tutta questa bellezza storica!! Nessuno che se occupi.... peccato ...un bellissimo video bravi ragazzi.👏👏👏
An amazing tour.Thanks!
Those hydrangea bushes are beautiful blue....my mum loved those flowers. Very beautiful home
Oh, my gosh, it's so beautiful! Thank you for your grateful work! Amazing video) 😘🤗
Thank you!
Muito linda a fazenda o lugar tudo de bom para voces adoro seu trabalho seu geito de falar das casas
You seem very respectful of the properties and contents, so I'm guessing that you take every care to leave the place exactly as you found it
Truly enjoy all your videos from USA South Carolina
I love ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ this place what a museum this could be, that way everyone could enjoy 😉 this place, I'm glad you guys can show me, even the outfit is so fitting ❤️ 😊, great job
