I have to thank you for your video and advice. The pin came out of my mixer while the machine was mixing dough. Thanks to you I learned how to fix the problem. I'm truly grateful for your video and happy to say my mixer is working well. THANK YOU!!!!
Glad I could help! 👍😎
You just saved our Christmas baking extravaganza. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
I was crying over my mixer. It was my mother’s. She’s been gone 21 years. I was absolutely heartbroken at the thought that it was broken. ….on the anniversary of her passing…Thank you so much for this! You made my day better.

Your video helped me get the pin back in. You gave good instructions. I watched the KitchenAid video first...but it was not detailed enough. Thank you so much!
Glad it helped! 🤗
Thank you, you just saved our Christmas dinner!
You are so welcome! 🤗🎄
Thank you so much for this video!! Thought the entire mixer was broken and was having a terrible time trying to slide the pin into the neck standing it upright. Tried it upside down like you showed us and it worked!!
Glad I could help!
Kitkat4724, thank you for your comment. I had to turn my mixer over and use a little persuation with a rubber mallet. All fixed.
My mixer just went nuts wobbling and the pin fell out. Had no idea it even existed. Thanks for the tip, got her fixed up. 😁👍🏻
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching.
Excellent explanation! Much, much better than the Kitchenaid video. The part about lifting the base a little to get the pin in really helped. Thank you so much!!!

Thank you so much. Not only was I able to put the pin back in, the pin no longer slides out as it has been doing for years!
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing.
I can’t even begin to thank you 🙏! You literally just saved Christmas! Christmas without homemade cookies just isn’t the same so THANK YOU from our family! ❤plus you saved my mom from purchasing a new kitchenaid mixer!
So glad to help. Merry Christmas 🎄
Dude this helped me so much! It took a little hammer to push the in in all the way finally!
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much. So clear! Mine was very stubborn so it helped to have another person hold down the upside down top half only so it could be lifted a touch. I also screwed from the top with a very long screwdriver but to do that you have to align the mixer head correctly.
Yes you do, and I am so glad to help you out. 😊
This is such a blessing! Thank you for being extremely detailed it saved my life (my baking life at least)
You're so welcome! 🤗
Thank you so so much. My pin fell out 7 minutes into a 15 minute bread knead & I was so worried I'd be without my mixer or have to replace it. God bless you & thank you so much for your help!

Thank you kind sir. I even put a towel down. My wife's response was less joyous than I would have thought. She said "oh, I was starting to look forward to a blue one.". So much for 4 minutes out of my day. Lol. But great video. I appreciate it if my wife doesn't.
Isn't that the truth... Glad to help you out there. 🧐🤦♂️👍
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much. I fixed it myself! I thought my 25 year old fire engine red Artisan mixer was on the way to the mixer graveyard. So scary when its head fell off. You are a great instructor!

@@AroundTheHome1 I appreciate also the brevity of your video- no unnecessary blah blah blah! and I wanted to add that oiling the hole the pin goes through with a little 3-in-1 oil was what really did the trick!
No problem, and thanks for the tip.
great video
Thanks for watching

Thank you for this! My pin keeps sliding out (not all the way but it slides a lot when I'm using it) and I was trying to find out why it started doing that recently.

Hello, thanks for sharing. I’m looking how to get the other pin back in the middle. The one at the rotating part. Do you know?
Are you talking about a pin at the motor?
Oh man…thank you 😂😂😂😂
You are very welcome.
Very helpful explaining how to put the pin back in. but it seems that I don't have the screw to tighten the pin.It just looks like it fell out ..can I get a replacement screw? .it is just a black hole...probably lost it last time I used the mixer...I haven't even had it for a year.
Try this website. Just enter you make and model # www.ereplacementparts.com/brands.php
I think that this is the part. A bit pricey and on one screen shows out of stock, but in stock on another. I am going to order one from Amazon and give it a try. I will let you know if that works. www.ereplacementparts.com/screw-latch-bearing-p-622298.html
Thank you, you saved me from a breakdown 😂

What about a mixer that’s fallen off a counter and broken in two? The cast has broken clean off, ever seen one successfully repaired? I know it’s die cast zinc so tricky to weld. Maybe epoxy would work?
Awesoame video!! Thank you! Now anyone know how to get a replacement Neck Pin Set Screw???? Mine mustve wiggled out and gotten thrown away:( I've contacted Kitchenaid and there's no guidance and no replacement offered. hard to get the size right for a replacement screw even at a hardware store....anyone have any advice??

How do I remove the top from the base, please? Great video-but I need help with thst detail. Thanks!
Without know more of what you are doing, my answer would be to just do the steps of this video in reverse to take the head off.
Question… when I had the unit apart and upside down, oil was dripping from the side of the main head (also a good reason to have the towel on the workspace). Will the small amount of oil loss be an issue or should I have it serviced somewhere? (I saw a little bit of oil dripping on the main head of the unit you’re working on too) Thanks for the help. 😉
@Lisa W if you are talking about the greasy spot that you can see at the 1:08 mark that is something that wasn't cleaned good enough from the last time that we used it. Or at least I am pretty sure that it is. I don't remember any oil or grease leaking out of the head while I was working on it. I don't have a good answer for you if you have actual grease / oil leaking out of the head when you turn it over. I would have to suggest to have it serviced.
@@AroundTheHome1 oh, OK…thanks. I had a brown substance that appeared to be oil and coming out of the same area as I saw it on yours so I thought it was from having it upside down. 🤷🏼♀️ Thank you.
No problem and good luck with your mixer.
What do you do when the pin will not go through at all, even the middle part?
My mixer is missing this screw- any idea the size I need or where I may get a replacement ?
Here is my video for the screw replacement. ua-cam.com/video/66cFmKQpgn4/v-deo.html There is an Amazon link in the description for the most common models. Hope that helps.
I've lost the screw that tightens it. Do you know what type of screw it is? thanks
Try this website. Just enter you make and model # www.ereplacementparts.com/brands.php
What does the screw look like? Mine disappeared. Now I need a new one.
Here is my video on that. ua-cam.com/video/66cFmKQpgn4/v-deo.html
where do i get a replacement pin if mine got loose fell out and now lost ??
You might try this website. www.ereplacementparts.com/
What if the pin won’t go through the hole freely? I removed the screw but the pin won’t go through on one side. Please help!
Might just have to play around with it some more. Both sides have to be aligned for it to go in. Sometimes wiggling the mixer a little will help line it up. Sometimes getting another person, a fresh set of eyes 👀 on it helps.
Hey the same happened to me but no matter how loose or tight the screw is the pin won’t even go through the head opening.
Can the pin slip through the hole that is on the head unit ok? If so, then it may just not be getting lined up well enough. Things like this need good patience, because if you start to get frustrated with it then it's definitely not going to happen.
Anyone know where to buy a replacement pin at?
Not for sure, but probably can from here. www.ereplacementparts.com/
Embrace practical problems when making your videos; your viewers probably encounter them as well.
Who needs a slick speeded up 15 second narrative straght out of a utopian Barbie world?
Your short comment on how you just needed to lift the base a little bit was the part which helped me.
So thank you from across the pond.
The KitchenAid will be spinning again in few minutes, and the scent of cake will be filling our home in 30 minutes.
So very glad to help. It's hard for my to make videos for a whole generation of people that want everything in under 30 seconds. I will just keep making my videos the way I do, hopefully teach some skills and entertain a little along the way.
I lost the screw that attaches the pin. Where an I get one?
Here is the video on that. ua-cam.com/video/66cFmKQpgn4/v-deo.html And here is the Amazon link but it is not always available. www.amazon.com/dp/B014W8Y3WG?psc=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=b59091b97e90c97e95addc14c2f9c757&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
Thank you so much!
You are welcome. It looks like it is unavailable at this time. It should become available again soon. You can order it from other online appliance parts stores like www.ereplacementparts.com/ but I found that the cost for ordering the single screw is much more that way. I need to find a better local answer to this question.
@@AroundTheHome1 - I’ll keep my eyes out for the restock. Thanks
