It does a superior kneading job, but the mixer head leaps around violently. It's exhausting trying to hold the bowl and head in place for the 4 minutes of kneading I usually use. Thanks for this video; now that I've precisely adjusted the mixer head for use with the regular paddle, I can figure out some kind of rubber shim to slide in and raise it up just a bit when using the spiral hook. Because when I make pies with the whisk it never 'touches' side or bottom close enough to get everything mixed in...although I'm rther inclined to believe the whisk is too small for the bowl since it never gets closer than 3/16" to the sides...
The install went smoothly and I have the paddle just grazing the dime on each pass. But there's still quite a bit of play in the head, especially when under load. If I tighten it more to reduce the play, the paddle grazes the bottom. What's the next thing to check?

Got my everdime, installed it per the directions, and it’s at just the right height. However, I still have quite a bit play in my head unlike what you showed at the end. I’m pretty handy with tools, and it looks like my installation is correct, can you tell me what I missing?
So…installed it and now my head doesn’t sit flat anymore. I didn’t have a bounce issue before, this was preventative and now I have another issue. HELP!
I struggle bussed to make sure it wasn’t cross threaded…finally got it, seated it as tight as possible with stripping the head…doesn’t work. Now can’t get screw without EverDime on back in straight. 🤦🏼♀️
Be careful not to cross thread putting the screw back in. I had a few minutes of panic when I thought I might have damaged beyond being able to get it back in. I was eventually able to get it, but probably a combination of the odd angle, large diameter & soft metal made it easy to make a mistake.
@@MrMixer316 I ended up removing the hinge pin (that I needed to tighten anyway) & taking the whole head off to allow me to get a better angle & purchase on it. Made it a lot easier since I had done enough to make it pretty tough to get back in. But it'll probably be the last time it ever has to come out again anyway!
Wish I had read through the comments sooner. I did in fact cross thread mine and I'm at a total loss as to how I'll be able to remedy it. If anyone has some tips on where to go from here they would be much appreciated. I'm devastated and have no idea what to do.
I can’t get the screw back into place, with or without the everdime it will no longer sit flush in my kitchenaid rendering it useless. I have never been so upset before 😢
I think that's the point - the screw really digs into the everdime to get a solid seal. It's less about adding space and more about locking it into place - I just installed mine and I had to almost lose the screw head inside the everdime before it would pass the dime test
I would like to suggest a refinement in the procedure. One of your steps is what is causing everyone to cross-thread the screw. Luckily, I had a tap to fix it. For reference, it is 1/4-28. What you should do is not push the screw all the way into the bushing, but just enough so that the end of the screw just exits the rubber bushing by 0-3 mm. While holding the head of the screw, tilt the bushing so that it passes under and behind the lip of the mixer housing. This will prevent cross-threading. You only need to turn the screw in far enough so that it is flush with bushing before testing. You do not want to screw it in all of the way or your mixer attachment will definitely be hitting the bowl. You also want to be sure that the latch just catches without being forced. It should latch smoothly. Test. The three things that you need to pay attention to are that the mixer head is latched, the mixer attachment is hitting nothing when in operation, and the screw is set so that you have the minimum clearance between the attachment and the bowl.
Yea I need to re film this. I've had a handful of people run into the issue, I should have mentioned it as well, one of those small things I didn't think about as it hadn't e er happened to me
Wish I’d read this comment before I started the process. Now I’ve cross threaded the screw and my mixer isn’t able to be used….during the peak of Christmas baking. Awesome. To say I’m not happy is an understatement.
Beware, I tried this on a new KitchenAid mixer and not only did it not work, but my set screw got mangled in the process. I have to call KitchenAid now to fix it. Very annoyed.
@@jmiller5130 I'm sorry that you have had issue with your install, have you reached out to us for assistance? The everdime works and works well, however as mentioned in the video, just like when you screw in any screw, if you don't put it in straight it has the potential to cross thread. If you would like assistance please reach out via email mrmixer316@gmail.com.
You can adjust it to make it a bit tighter if you prefer, there will alway be a small amount of play unfortunately due to the design of the lock lever, best scenario may be to adjust it tighter and use it and see if your ingredients are all incorporating still, if they aren't then back it off a hair
We installed the Everdime and now it’s bouncing more than it ever has when i take it out, it bounces more than when it did. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
One thing I haven't figured out is how far to screw it back in. The everdime has some give, so there's still room for interpretation. Is it as soon as it touches? Or tighten until I can't by hand? Somewhere in between?
I can't get the screw back in after removing it. Everdime or no. You know this is a problem, you ever to it in the comments, and yet you don't being it up in the video? What sort of service tech are you if you don't warn people of the risks?! Now I have a broken machine, and no idea how to fix it or what to do, as I'm not a technician, and you said this was an easy fix?
There is a card at the beginning of this video and a link in the description at the very top of the description saying there is a link to a new video that includes that portion. When this video was filmed I was unaware of the issue. It seems you have cross threaded your screw. Take it to any auto body/metal work shop and they will fix it for next to nothing. It will need to be re tapped. The thread size is 1/4x28.
Is it possible that you have stripped the threads on the machine? Take the EverDime off and make sure you're getting a nice straight shot, got in a bit til you meet resistance tigthen a bit then back it out a bit then tighten it again keep repeating until it re threads itself
Your sense of awkward humor is the perfect touch on these videos. It seriously cracks me up and makes the learning fun. Thanks for what you do!

My screw was so bad that the washer didn’t work. It had worn itself and wouldn’t screw back in with the washer on. I had to get a whole new screw and now. - no washer but the kitchen aid works amazing!! Like brand new. Now I know if it starts to trouble me again to just get a new screw
Not happy, the only way the everdime is working for me is if i put it in backwards and the defeats the purpose right? I finally got it to lock and it still doesn't even touch the dime.
Are you certain you haven't cross threaded the screw?
@@MrMixer316 after about 20 more tries i got it to go in as directed and smoother. It did not want to go in correctly, but i got it in and did the dime test and was able to make some cookies last night. Thanks and sorry for my frustration, it's been a week.
@@dannyrgalindo That's great to hear! No worries!
Got my everdime, installed it per the directions, and it’s at just the right height. However, I still have quite a bit play in my head unlike what you showed at the end. I’m pretty handy with tools, and it looks like my installation is correct, can you tell me what I missing?
I would back it out just a hair to see if it will tighten up
So…installed it and now my head doesn’t sit flat anymore. I didn’t have a bounce issue before, this was preventative and now I have another issue. HELP!
Is the screw screwed in far enough? Did you cross thread the screws? Once you lock it down it should hold pressure and keep it flat
I struggle bussed to make sure it wasn’t cross threaded…finally got it, seated it as tight as possible with stripping the head…doesn’t work. Now can’t get screw without EverDime on back in straight. 🤦🏼♀️
@@mikew8014 oh no, it sounds like it's been cross threaded 😢
Got screw back in without EverDime on…guess I’ll just chalk it up to TikTok made me buy it 🤦🏼♀️
I took the set screw out, put on the Everdime on, and now no matter what I do, the screw won’t go back on. 😢
It sounds like you may have crossed threads, it's a cheao easy fix, send an email and we will get you taken care of. Mrmixer316@gmail.com
Installed mine today, perfect gap on my KitchenAid now.
Just got it, just installed it! Thank you 😊
I can't get the screw back in far enough for the mixer head to come back down all the way. I wish I'd left it alone 😞
Be careful not to cross thread putting the screw back in. I had a few minutes of panic when I thought I might have damaged beyond being able to get it back in. I was eventually able to get it, but probably a combination of the odd angle, large diameter & soft metal made it easy to make a mistake.
They used to make the screws out of aluminum to prevent damaging the threads, but steel is cheaper =P. but yes always be careful to not cross thread!
@@tdonaven yea it makes it a hair easier to do that!
Wish I had read through the comments sooner. I did in fact cross thread mine and I'm at a total loss as to how I'll be able to remedy it. If anyone has some tips on where to go from here they would be much appreciated. I'm devastated and have no idea what to do.
@@MrMixer316 what can you do for people who have bought this and literally screwed their machine from cross threading the screw?
Do you have any mods for a bowl lift mode?
We are working on some 😊
Couldn't you use lock tight?
They actually use locktite from factory, but the bouncing is like an impact and loosens it up!
I can’t get the screw back into place, with or without the everdime it will no longer sit flush in my kitchenaid rendering it useless. I have never been so upset before 😢
We can help! Send us an email mrmixer316@gmail.com
I have this exact same problem. For the life of me I can’t get the screw back in. My mixer is literally straight out of the box
I cant even tighten my everdime on far enough without the screw basically going through the everdime. the rubber just stretches around the screw head
Yeah how do I fix this?
also wondering how to fix this 😢
I think that's the point - the screw really digs into the everdime to get a solid seal. It's less about adding space and more about locking it into place - I just installed mine and I had to almost lose the screw head inside the everdime before it would pass the dime test
I can't get mine screwed in enough for the dime test it's about a quarter of an inch off the bottom.
@@PaulSmith-hn6yu how the heck did you screw that in I'm having the hardest time did you use an electric screwdriver
Easy install. Takes less than 5 minutes. If you’ve never screwed a screw you should probably not DIY this. It works like all other screws on earth.
Got my everdime! Thanks!!
Good ol' Jump cut to save time on that screw starting. Who doesn't relate to that?
Haha so true, it's easy it just takes a hint of patience especially if your drop it and have to pluck at it 😂
Hey Brenton, long time no see :D You should see the pre-edits lol
Great tip, thank you
I found you. Good stuff .. love your movie references. Would love to have you on our show for an interview or a movie review if you are interested.?
Beware, I tried this on a new KitchenAid mixer and not only did it not work, but my set screw got mangled in the process. I have to call KitchenAid now to fix it. Very annoyed.
@@jmiller5130 I'm sorry that you have had issue with your install, have you reached out to us for assistance? The everdime works and works well, however as mentioned in the video, just like when you screw in any screw, if you don't put it in straight it has the potential to cross thread. If you would like assistance please reach out via email mrmixer316@gmail.com.
… my screw won’t get in… :(
It sounds like you may have stripped the threads on the housing
Love the monsters Inc. reference! Thank you so much for this product
Happy to help! 😊
I dont have a paddle can I use the wisk?
I still have some slight bounce but it passes the dime test perfectly, should I just leave it be?
You can adjust it to make it a bit tighter if you prefer, there will alway be a small amount of play unfortunately due to the design of the lock lever, best scenario may be to adjust it tighter and use it and see if your ingredients are all incorporating still, if they aren't then back it off a hair
@@MrMixer316 great thank you, it it still 100 times better than before the washer!
@@jamesrosen8176 tighten until you can do the dime test
Is that elvish script on the drip ring of that white mixer?! Hahaha
It is, we were trying to make lord of the drip ring decals but they were so small that they were hard to work with 😅
@@MrMixer316 Omg that’s amazing! I did see some of the letters peeling off, too bad it didn’t work out.
Unfortunately. Still excessive play, evem after proper installation
It's not an issue with the product it's an issue with your lock mechanism, we will be releasing a line of video on that soon!
Did you fix it?
A longer screwdriver should make it a little easier to manipulate that screw.
one ring to rule them all
is that what i see engraved on the ring?
lol good one
i will be ordering 3
one for every mixer in my family :@)
❤️ Yes it is, we were going to release them, but they are so small that they don't stick to the stainless drip ring well
I thought I was going to have to buy a new mixer (mine is almost 20 years old) but now it runs like new!!!!
Super happy to help
Yay for the Monsters Inc song that forever lives in my head!!!
I ended up having to take the head off the mixer to get the screw back in
And if ur in the UK use a 5p 😉
I would patent that...
We've already started the process on it, just waiting on the lawyers to get through their stuff 👍
The way I yelled when I found a US dime in my change purse
Help. I can’t find the dime in my rye bread dough! Nah, works a charm. Gee thanks Mr. Mixer.
😂😂 Thanks I needed a chuckle, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I have this stuff called blue locktite. I call it Evertite.
Blue loctite comes standard on those screws and they still work themselves loose!
@@MrMixer316 I have red too. 😂
Mixer won’t lock once installed, definitely refunding.
I’m just an idiot. With proper adjustment it works
@@steve8211 that's a known issue with the lock levers, not the everdime. We are gonna make a tutorial on that issue.
30 min later and can't get the screw back in ha
Is it possible that you have stripped the threads on the machine? Take the EverDime off and make sure you're getting a nice straight shot, got in a bit til you meet resistance tigthen a bit then back it out a bit then tighten it again keep repeating until it re threads itself
@@MrMixer316 maybe you should sell the aluminum screw with it so it doesnt happen
@@SaxSpy unfortunately its not the screw usually that gets buggered up, it's the threads on the interior of the machine.
