The Magic School Bus games were my entire childhood. Especially the human body and space ones. So glad you tried Zoombinis. I loved that game so much as a kid and played it constantly at school and eventually had my own copy at home. There's a slightly inferior version on the ipad. Its harder than people think as its all logic stuff and trial and error and the more trips you take the harder the puzzles get. Highly recommended even for bored adults.

Holy cow, the worm boat blasted me back to my childhood. I always new that I had played Clue Finders at some point, but I had forgotten so many of the details. So seeing those worms all wrapped up in their cozy sweaters, waiting to be seated was like that scene in Ratatouille as the camera pulled back through my eyes, and suddenly, I was as the computer once again, learning about logic puzzles.

Everyone always waxes nostalgic for Jumpstart First Grade, but Third Grade was easily my favorite. Even as an adult I love the dark, almost gothic atmosphere compared to how colorful and cheery the earlier entries are, and the primitive CGI just adds to the creepiness. Botley was a fun companion with more of an actual personality than the earlier hosts. The observatory game stuck with me because I still love astronomy as an adult. Just a great edutainment game.

It truly was a golden era for educational CD-ROM games. Broderbund was the best. I played ClueFinders 4th grade, which takes place in Egypt. This made me so happy to watch this :) When my sister and I played the original Jumpstart 3rd grade, we'd mess up the recipes on purpose to get the "glop monster" 🤣It was probably for the best you left Jumpstart 3rd grade alone though; that game is....AN EVENT! Don't get me started on the many theories I have about that one 😅

JumpStart games were a blast! Pre-K was a favorite of mine purely for the songs, and I loved 2nd grade bc there was an entire section about counting change that I was super good at

Fun fact: I used to be really unnerved/scared by Reader Rabbit Second Grade when i played it as a kid. I think part of the reason was it felt really restrictive and railroaded in a way that the previous Reader Rabbit games I'd played weren't, because those had been the more standard "wander around an environment and play minigames within that environment" style, and also those other games had all taken place mostly outdoors, while this one you were locked in a castle. Also I think something about the design of the castle felt kind of liminal to me back then, and that put me on edge. Idk, I was scared of a lot of weird things as a kid, but I definitely remember hating playing that game, but also doing so because even back then I was a completionist, lol

Thanks for making this video, and sorry, english isn't my native language
In spanish, the cluefinders are called "Los pequeños aventureros", it means "the little adventurers".

I didn’t know this was a legit genre of games, after my school cut the gifted program they decided to sit us all in a classroom and gave us reign on these types of games for one period-I remember something called Quest Atlantis being specifically confusing with terrible graphics

I played a lot of Jumpstart, Spelling Jungle, Math Blaster, Zoombinis in the school’s computer lab! The later games like Cluefinders was my cousin’s game she got from Scholastic, I played at her house along with PBS kids CD games like Arthur, Clifford the big red dog, and Cyberchase which I played for the funny cartoon scenes in the game.

I played so much Reader Rabbit as a child! Here in Sweden, he was called Kalle Kunskap (which translates to 'Kalle Knowledge') and were, as far as I know, quite popular here. We'd often get them as fast food toys. I believe my favorite one was this longer game about the characters being stuck in this cloud city? The 2nd grade game in this video scared me so much as a youngin. It had a very liminal space feel to it.
Despite a lot of the games being math-based, I absolutely sucked at math all throughout school though, so either they weren't very effective in teaching kids math, or it was just me being really bad at it.

I remember playing so many of these in my old computer lab at school on the giant clear plastic colorful imacs (alas, i am Old) a few of my own standouts were Dream Team Kids Typing and Jumpstart second grade, That "you're eating a noun" song still appears in my head when I make a sandwich. the Her Interactive Nancy Drew games were also huge in apparently exclusively my household I've met another person that knew about them one time. More logic and reasoning puzzles than pure education like the zoombinis but I learned a lot of random niche info that helps sometimes. *thinks about the vegetable picking puzzle and shorty disapproving of how dumb I am*

I don't think I've ever clicked a thumbnail so fast 😂😂. My favorites were the two Star Flyers games, which were basically Guardians of the Galaxy for 7 year olds. It's amazing. On my last nostalgia visit I noticed in the credits that Charles Martinet (THE Mario guy) voiced the villain???!!!!

I went hard on the JumpStart series. JumpStart 4th Grade was horror themed, and there was a spooky forest where you could see the mascots from the previous games cowering in fear. Traumatizing
