    I’m in my 30s and considering a full career change. My background is mostly in teaching, and I’ve also worked in sales. But I love hair, love people, and love being creative. I’m considering doing a few intensive training courses at a local academy salon. Would this be a good route into the job? Once you’ve qualified this way, can you then start as a junior stylist? Or would you still be classed as an apprentice or assistant? Obviously, despite having a passion for this, I need to know it’s all financially viable. Really appreciate you videos and advice! Thank you!

    i want to start as a trainee, except i have really bad anxiety and if i even think about going up to someone to talk with them or ask a question my heart will start beating like a jackhammer and my cheeks will burn and i will get dizzy and might loose balance and i might start crying from anxiety and won't be able to breath properly, but i really really want to be a hairdresser because i want a girly job and need to save up to visit my bf helpp >m

      Talking to people is a big part of the job, but you get more confident as you get to know people. If you want to build confidence i think acting classes really really help. It sounds silly because if you’re shy you wouldn’t wanna perform, but even just the regular classes help so much.

    Hello Frankie, I really need to ask this question... Is it possible to never work Saturdays at a Salon and still be a hairdresser? I'm 18 years old and really want to become a hairdresser, but I cannot work Saturdays due to my faith. Please could you help me by answering this question! 🙏 Thank you for your brilliant video :)

      If you were to explain this to your employer then they might be able to accommodate for you but generally speaking most hairdressers have to work Saturdays. Thanks for watching 💕

    Can I choose to work every other Saturday?

    • @FrankieWhite
      @FrankieWhite  3 роки тому

      If you're self employed and work for yourself you can chose your hours. If you work in a salon it's unlikely that you'll be allowed every other Saturday off 💕

      @@FrankieWhite thank you for your message. I also wanted to ask if it's possible to take it off as a holiday or annual leave and also it possible to become a self employed in a salon (renting a chair out)?
      Thanks 💕

    • @FrankieWhite
      @FrankieWhite  3 роки тому

      It completely depends where you work. Every place has a different set of rules. As an employee at a salon you'd usually be allowed a certain amount of Saturdays a year, maybe 4 or 5.
      Yes you would be self employed if you rented a chair 💕

      @@FrankieWhite Wow! Thank you 😊 💓 this made me feel like I understand the hair industry more !
      I love teaching, so I might get into hairdressing Instructor and maybe do hairdressing at the side like when I'm not teaching for extra money during the summer holidays. I'm so excited 😁 thank you again! 💗🧡
