It has nothing to do with jealousy. It’s about respecting each other enough to not put out there that they like the visual image of another person. Thinking someone is attractive is one thing, but acting on it by hitting that button or posting a comment is unnecessary unless there is a goal in mind, which is wrong.
My husband does this all the time and tells me it’s because he’s being their fan (Instagram models who are mostly lingerie and bikini girls). He says he wants to give them credit for their pictures and tell them he likes those the best and it’s no big deal. What would be the best response?

You can like the photo without pressing the like button. Why do you feel the need to let her know that you were checking her out? That’s like walking up to an attractive woman when you are out with your wife, and telling that woman how beautiful she is with your wife standing right there listening. It is completely disrespectful. If you think otherwise then you are not ready for a relationship.
So basically date someone who meets your standards, I personally think it depends, if the guy is liking normal pictures of friends here and there who are girls that’s fine, but if they’re photos of women that are half naked to me that wrong, and creepy and it goes both ways. It’s just showing simple respect for your partner.
If people were really happy in their relationship, guys wouldn't like other women's photos and the women wouldn't feel the need to post pics on instagram to get fake validation from other guys.

I kinda feel like if they are willing to go that far and jeopardize the relationship by acting a fool on social media, they likely have no respect for the relationship and it's probably not even worth having in the first place. It has been an issue for long enough, to the point that i have lost a lot of attraction for him and am just frankly turned off. I am a very attractive woman and have a lot to offer. I have been nothing but good to him and gone above and beyond to be my best for our relationship but i am just feeling like i don't have it in me anymore.

This has caused drama between my GF of 8 months and I. I like my friends posts, girls, guys, doesn’t matter. That’s what social media is for. If they put a pic that looks nice I’ll show some love and like their post. If they post something like a meme or a quote I like, I’ll like it. Rarely do I comment and definitely don’t dm anyone trying to seek anything. I think I’ve been through some dark times in my life where I felt I didn’t have any friends and felt invisible, I try and be supporting of fellow friends male/female online. I guess some people maybe haven’t been through the same or think that all guys are looking for something on the side. I think it depends on what kind of photo and how insecure are you really that you should feel disrespected by a like.
It depends on the photo that you're liking. Are you liking sexy photos of females or regular photos? I never like any sexy photos of females (not even celebrities) because I know it would make my partner feel more insecure (she is already pretty insecure). I'm not sacrificing anything but not liking sexy photos. Personally I dont care what photos my girl likes but I can see why people have an issue over certain likes. If I like a girls sexy photo I definitely do it out of lust not "to be friends". But to each their own you should talk to her and see her point of view.

But why is it so important to validate someone online if you know it hurts your partners feelings? If you’re only friends with someone because of social media then you’re not really friends, especially if it’s just people you once knew. Idk why people can’t seem to let others go. That’s part of growing up. And the fact is girls post pictures of themselves for attention and to feel like they look good and you liking it is somewhat validating that.
