    Maybe it's because the Cup Car is so raw and unfiltered compared to the road-going GR86, but that lap seemed properly quick. It might just be the sensation of speed, with all the noise and vibration being picked up by the camera and mic, but it felt like they were flying down the track!

      lighter wheels, stripped interior and a car thats already extremely rigid... yeah that'll happen.
      228whp equates to 268 at the crank, so even the road going car isnt exactly slow. its slow by todays sports car standards but also isn't due to its weight.
      a mixture of the sound, the transmission theyre using, the perspective, the grip, and the fact that its light as a feather and as said in the video tuned a little, yeah, this thing doesn't just look like its flying, it is hahahaha.

      That’s the thing with any racing, karting, 86’s, Motorcycle racing, it’s all pay to play, because you have to pay for every spare part if you’re a privateer out of your own pocket.
      Look at a normal job, let’s say engineering, you may have a set of screws for a piece.
      Those screws may not fit, you have to pay it out your own money to get the right ones, to make it work
      Same goes for racing, you need all the spare parts accessible in order to enter in as a privateer so life is a pay to play in itself

      @neozone_hyrax.raw. 3 місяці тому

      H pattern in a modern car, nah, these are drivers who have never driven H-pattern in their life for the most part, so giving them a sequential is a quicker learning phase

    • @neozone_hyrax.raw.
      @neozone_hyrax.raw. 3 місяці тому +1

      Sequential shift through gears quicker via engine cut, which means for a split second the engine cuts out so the gear can be moved up with ease, not like H-patterns where sometimes you have to ride the clutch until the car comes to the right revs which in some cars can take 1-2 seconds, engine cut only takes about a thousandth of a second if not faster than that so the gears are smoother

      With H pattern transmission you have to blip the throttle and rev match while breaking and that takes lots of talent and practice.

      @@TestDriveVideos just having some fun with ya. Still, if you’re going to do all that work making it a track car, do the engine as well. IMO, just leave the 86 stock.

      @@supraJZA80s I don’t think you get my point. This isn’t a race car no matter how much suspension, brakes and gearbox you throw at it. It’s too novice, too slow and it’s still not going to be cheap. As a track learning tool it’s great but as a racing series, it’s has zero appeal to me.
