I 'm 12 years old, and this is 4th cake i've tried in the life .and i cant believe this . This shortcake came out extraordinary. Thank u soo much for your cakes . Keep rocking 🎉❤❤❤
AMAZING RECIPE AS WE NEED TO MAKE ONE THIS SUNDAY. BY THE WAY, DECADES AGO I SAW A COOK UST THREAD TO CUT VERY FRAGILE CAKES LIKE ANGELFOOD. SHE JUST ENCIRCLES THE WHOLE CAKE AT THE LEVEL NEEDED AND PULLED THE THREAD CLOSED AND A PERFECT CUT WAS MADE. I HOPE IT WORKS FOR US.
Can you recommend a frosting that will hold up I'm heat and humidity? I been using whipped topping from sams club and holds great. But I want to do frosting from scratch. I'm in the hot Miami, FL and we do lots outdoor activities. Thanks!
I made this for someone’s birthday at work. I’ve been baking a long time and my first cake of Liz’s was the white velvet buttermilk cake and it came out awesome. This one looked ok. It rose to the full height of the pan but it wasn’t very fluffy. It was on the dense side. Taste was fine but I wasn’t crazy about the texture. Did I do something wrong?
Does anyone know if you can substitute buttermilk for the milk. I love the white velvet buttermilk cake and was wondering if you can use it for this recipe.
I want to make this cake but then would like to cover it with your easy vanilla buttercream and decorate the cake (it’s for my niece’s bday so I want it to go with the theme) do you think that’s possible? Or would it be all messy?
Thank you for sharing your experience Question can I use your this vanilla cake recipe for wedding cake? I want three flavours vanilla ,chocolate and red velvet So shall I use vanilla for bottom 10” or 12” x 4”or 5” how much batter I will need? Either will be naked cake or abc butter cream Or you suggest plz waiting for your reply
Help! Just made this beautiful cake. I cannot refrigerate today or tomorrow. Eating/serving at 4 pm. What time to remove from freezer and leave on counter?
Could you use this cake recipe to assemble strawberry cheesecake trifle in a trifle dish, or would this type of cake become too mushy? Love all your recipes Liz!
Is the mixing time the same using a Kitchenaid stand mixer? If not, can you please include that as well? Also, can you (meaning we) always use the reverse creaming method for all of our cakes?
I usually use angel food, pound cake or vanilla cake too. Way better than those biscuits, in my opinion. I also make a little strawberry sauce to put on each slice for serving that the cake soaks up. Yum, yum. I know what my family is getting soon!
Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial you’re absolutely amazing and adorable I have to add I am making a baby shower cake for my daughter-in-law who wants a two layer 10 inch and I guess a two layer 8 inch on top she loves strawberries and wanted a vanilla cake with strawberry filling ughh strawberries in November hard to find good strawberries in November LOL the outside of the cake would be butter cream would that work well with the whip cream filling and strawberries again thank you so so much cannot wait to try your recipe How would it hold up after frosting I am making it the day before I don’t want the filling to start to bulge out the sides
I dont know if it’s just me but how is it that you can pick up a cake layer and it doesn’t just fall apart.. even just sliding my cake over a bit a chunk of it just cracks
I’ve made this vanilla cake with buttercream before and I looooove it. I followed this “stable” whipped cream recipe exactly and my cake is in the freezer right now to keep it from collapsing. I made regular whipped cream yesterday and I wish I would have just used that😞
Oh how I was asked to make this again for Thanksgiving. My lady couldn’t stop moaning off of every forkful. Her friends are all like “ this is the best that I’ve ever had “, I’m the MAN thanks to you.

Hi Liz, if we decide to frost it can we use the same whipped cream?
Will have to make this for my son in law. He loves strawberries! The good ones! From Canada! 😁
mmmm I've never had canadian strawberries!

Can i just use normal hand mixer? Yours seem does the trick because it mixes perfectly
Beautiful cake, I’m going to make this for my nieces bday. Can you tell me what kind of mixer you’re using?

Yes, Liz, I concur- Hoodies are the best!

Could you use this cake recipe to assemble strawberry cheesecake trifle in a trifle dish, or would this type of cake become too mushy? Love all your recipes Liz!
Oh you definitely could! Yum!
Do we have to have the machine you made the cake batter with? Or can we use the electric hand mixer u used for the whipped cream? Thank you!
Is the mixing time the same using a Kitchenaid stand mixer? If not, can you please include that as well? Also, can you (meaning we) always use the reverse creaming method for all of our cakes?
Yes it’s the same for a kitchenaid and no I don’t use this method for all cakes
Yummy would it if you could do a vanilla or strawberry ice cream cake
Sure!

Hi Liz, thanks for the recipe. Can I use buttermilk instead of milk in this recipe?
I haven’t tested that but I do have a white velvet buttermilk cake recipe on the blog sugargeekshow.com/recipe/white-velvet-cake/

The eggs aren't listed in the ingredients here and at the website. May help for beginners if it is listed down? 🙂
When you said you freezed it for an hour prior was that without frosting on the side? I want to make one but not frost the sides
West Virginia has a Strawberry Festival too

It's so hard to find cake flour in uk. Do you know of any substitutes?
Try searching for Shipton mills soft cake and pastry flour, or use any flour that has a protein content of 9% or less :)
@@SugarGeekShow Thank you so much😊. I am gonna buy Shipton mill cake flour. Also how do you calculate the protein percentage of flour?
hi Liz! Would this hold up as a tiered cake? Needed an 8" and 10" (for 35-40 ppl). TIA!
Gotta try this recipe!
Thank you, 😃🍓

Bosch stand mixer
