They aren't humble by heart though. Some people when they get a break they are thankful and greatful. Others are stuck up, snobby, showoffs. Depends on the person.
It also depends, their is some people that if by a stroke of luck get an abundance amount of money admire a certain thing, wish, "and I speak for alot of us when I say", if I had money I would buy this. I would buy a ferrari because I like the strategic engineering and the success it has in formula 1. I also understand that it is an exotic hyper car that will turn heads. But their is a difference between someone that has it and gives people a ride from someone that acts like they don't see you or gives you the finger while driving it.
I mean exactly, if you love cars you would like to own a car like a ferrari or another vehicle. it's a bit pricy, but if you had the money you would try to own one. That's what car lovers do, it doesn't mean you are show off. But the car is going to get some attention.
The owner seems like a genuinely nice guy, and I love that he really lets other people join in and enjoy the experience of a Ferrari. As soon as he said he lets people sit in it I smiled because that means SO much to people, especially kids. He's the kind of guy I wish all exotic car owners were like!
I think you should start including some POV shots when you drive these cars. As beautiful as your face is, I'd like to see the point of view of the driver.
Agree. PiP with the main video being the POV and the small one being your face. So when you try out another 911 GT3 we get to see the road ahead but we still can see you performing thorough scientific tests 😂
80's Electronic Music Production what does he do for a living? I'd love to be able to afford cars like that one day, but almost no career guarantees success sadly
C: Internet warriors criticize my Dougy for being "an immature douche who doesnt do real car reviews." No, Doug found his style and I love it and he deserves to drive these nice cars because he has an honestly joyful personality and worked hard to get to where he is.
I disagree. The reason I like doug over Saabkyle (another good car reviewer!) Is because Doug has a unique kind of humour in his reviews; though he just happens to review some exotic cars from time to time.
+Seattle Mantis The owner is a professional speaker, odds are most owners aren't going to be as good to interview as him, plus will be people who don't want to be interviewed like +FF A said
Doug if you don't do a prank on April first by "forgetting" to mention your autotrader but then mentioning it at the end and laughing, I'm gonna be mad
David Caruso i agree wholeheartedly , just keep in mind this owner very well spoken and down to earth. not dissing other owners but they may not be as camera ready
Yeah,I was expecting him to be kinda like every Ferrari owner as described by Jeremy Clarkson, having adenoids and talking all the time about his 5-way traction control but this guy is super cool.
Thats actually a very funny feature, everytime im at the Nürburgring and i hear some random honking i know there is a ferrari coming ! :D If the drivers go closer to the limit, most of them grab the steering wheel harder so sometimes you hear a lot of honking on trackdays !
SuperNovaHeights ? if you mean where that is from it is from jr garage who says he use to sell lemonade at a very young age and always worked and every penny of change he had he would save it (basically waste your childhood allowance) just enjoy it
Saw it with my eyes yesterday. It looks like a celebrity, that you only see once in a life time. You walk past, and turn around so you could see it just another time, before it leaves. It's insanely beautiful
Great video. I love the humble and thankful nature of the owner. I also like to see Doug’s face when he gets on the power. You can see he’s genuinely thrilled, like a little kid and you can try to imagine what driving such a special car must be like.
great review! I have to disagree with one thing though. The lock / unlock button is fine on the ceiling because you really shouldn't be using it anyway. Most people lock and unlock their cars from the outside. its a little habet you should get used to inorder to avoid locking your keys inside your car.
I locked the keys in the car once when I was 16 and was 2 hours away from home. Had to wait an hour for the volunteer police to come and unlock the door. Ever since (I'm now 28), I always lock the doors with the remote key from outside the car after the doors are closed. My car automatically locks the doors after it reaches 15mph, so I rarely need to press the lock/unlock interior button.
Lord Kitty And "Ferrari" is their fancy way of saying: "This car has a horse badge and it is red so can you please pay some extra even tho you could get the same performance from a porsche GT 2"
I've had the honor of meeting the owner of one of these, got a few pics n stuff. They're an older couple and super down to earth. Apparently, they come to a lil hole in the wall restaurant in my small town every week so I could see more of them. This car is truly beautiful.
He often doesn't get cars from the manufacturer or dealer. Many are privately owned. Yes, he's given "meh" reviews to six figure cars or those close to that price range
The engine note on this car is gorgeous. My neighbor owns a California, I have the 488. He's jealous of mine and I am of his. The excitement on Doug's face is absolutely genuine. This is a driver's car. I also have a Porsche 911 turbo and a Mercedes S65 AMG four door. Hands down, this is one of the finest cars I've ever owned.
On my birthday a couple of years ago my friends and I were sitting at the front of the house and my friend said "is that a Ferrari?" I looked down the street and I jumped up on my feet and it went down the road and parked in two streets down. it was a Ferrari 488. I live in town with 60 000 people living there and seeing that was the best 5 minutes of my life.
Nice review dude. Not got a pot to piss in but I've never been a Ferrari fan, the cars were ok, I could obviously see why people loved them, they just never did it for me. Then the 458 came out and I have to say it's the prettiest car ever made, if I had a couple of million I'd have one. This is nearly as nice, it's a bis squarer than the 458 and it just doesn't cut the mustard against the 458, though yet again, I understand why people like it, look at it, it's very special, but if I had the money, I'd buy a second hand 458, I don't think anyone can ever beat it, I think it's the best looking car ever, even Ferrari were stumped. Le Le Ferrari is awesome but I'd have the 918, I love Porsches. No no no, sorry, I wouldn't, If I had stupid money, me and you actually agree, Carrera GT, the best car ever made but I'd have a 458 as well, ooh and a GT4, for track days and make it faster than a Gt3, I'm babbling, great video dude.
And sorry didn't mention, he seems like a nice chap, well done mr owner, nice to see people climb the ladder and keep the attitude, rich from birth people don't get it, think yourself lucky that you really, really appreciate owning a Ferrari.
That's why I said we agree, Doug like me thinks the Carrera GT is the best car ever, I think that's the title of the video. It's nice to see a car video where the host is really not cool, Doug is cool for not being cool and he's a really nice geezer, I love how he gets excited like me or you. Doug is one of my favourite youtubers and one of the most genuine people (only from observation, he might be a bastard in real life, but I can't see it) I've watched, I wish I had a cool enough car for him to drive.
Honeslty even if i could afford the 488 and i know its much faster than the 458, but honestly the 458 looks much better in fact for me its the best looking modern supercar of all time, it sounds BILLION times better, and it has soooo enough performance, in my country cars that are 300+HP are basically unusable
If you wanted to get a car for performance, get the GT-R, it can out preform then 488 and cost 1/3 of it. But the GT-R is no where near as beautiful as either the 488 or 458.
I was lucky enough to drive a 2018 488 Spider for more than 200 miles last week. Let me tell you no video can do this car justice, the engine sound and driving dynamic is unbelievable. If you want to drive it around town it handles like a regular commuter car, very easy going. As soon as you give it more than half pedal, however, the savageness of the turbo V8 unleashes and the car eats pavement at an unbelievable rate. The car handles better than any I've ever driven, and it truly feels like an extension of your own hands and feet. It's ruined my expectations for how a car should drive
0:08 "350 thousand dollars" * Me on car gurus seeing the ferrari 488 spider going for 262,895* Me: Ha! Looks like I'll be able to afford it in 5 years lol
2:10 That display has the resolution of a TI-83+ calculator. Not that it would be an important feature at all, but for $350,000 they could've thrown in an OLED display, could they not?
Toarcade true, but do you buy a ferrari for a display or for the mechanics and performance ?! anyway, watch the display of gtc4lusso and 812 superfast .... those are very good !
I got to rent one of these for 24 hrs. It was expensive but one of the most fun days of my life. Truly a great car with a great motor, great feel, great sound and pictures and movies do not do the beauty of this car justice at all.
Dojo Jojo I'm sure most rational Lambo fans don't really care. I like both companies, and that's a stance I'm sure is more prevalent in the car community than that Marvel vs DC-esque attitude you're portraying Lamborghini fans as having.
04dram04 Do you think it should be Carbon fiber? I think that it is great that they made gorgeous car, but still thought about price and left all this expensive unneccessary shit out.
mcumerlato I think the "pit speed" is a speed limiter. So no matter how much you press the gas it won't let you accelerate past the speed limit you have preset.
Noble yes, but with your foot all the way down on the pedal? Usually cruise controls are made for normal cars doing normal things, not for track. Well, the Ferrari does track, so if you actually google some real shit up instead of spewing out jibberish. Doug is completely right about this one. Hell, that's probably why his making the video and not you.
+NBASFAN Take it easy you bad boy, the one spitting out gibberish* is you. My friend's old ass Benz (C200) has a speed limiter setting on its cruise control. And guess what? You can set it so no matter how much you push on the throttle the limit stays there. It's essentially the same thing, it's all just clever marketing by Ferarri. It's an awesome car, definitely built for track days, but sometimes you need to think a little outside of the box instead of being a blind fanboy. Makes you seem like a complete tool. Plus, what's the fucking purpose of having your foot all the way down on the pedal when you're pitting? The pit limiter is only there to make sure you don't break the rules, not to correct your lack of common sense. By the time you are approaching the pit lane you are already lowering your speed. But you never really raced, have you? So whatever man, just keep being a pretentious know-it-all.
Can you name one brand of car that makes a cruise control that will override how much throttle you apply? I can't think of a single one. Also, how exactly will you use a cruise control in a pit lane when entering and exiting the pit? The idea behind the pit speed is, that the car does not drive for you, it just limits how fast you can go. This means you are completely in control of the car, the speed is just limited.
I prefer the 458 over the 488 because - Designed by Pininfarina - Looks better IMO - Is naturally aspirated (tho I have nothing against turbos) - Is cheaper to buy - Performance is good enough for any normal person not doing laps the same speed of a professional
I love the 488 looks and is a good car but you can't compare to the 458 sound, it's brutal with novitech exhaust. The 488 sounds acceptable for a Ferrari but it's far from awesome, if Ferrari had used the same 458 engine with a few tunes then it would be the perfect weekend car to enjoy.
The owner is SO DOWN TO EARTH! I'm glad that someone like him owns it.
Kaust Shroff you can tell he had a humble beginning.
They aren't humble by heart though. Some people when they get a break they are thankful and greatful. Others are stuck up, snobby, showoffs. Depends on the person.
there is no way you can tell me buying a ferrari isn't being a showoff
It also depends, their is some people that if by a stroke of luck get an abundance amount of money admire a certain thing, wish, "and I speak for alot of us when I say", if I had money I would buy this. I would buy a ferrari because I like the strategic engineering and the success it has in formula 1. I also understand that it is an exotic hyper car that will turn heads. I like the interview with the owner. You should do this as much as possible Doug.

I have a feeling Doug has offered to have an interview with most people but the chances the car owners want to be on camera are slim
You'd be surprised how many would like the attention and exposure although I agree with you some might not
a lot of people want to keep it low-key

How can something be "all time" and modern at the same time?
If you wanted to get a car for performance, get the GT-R, it can out preform then 488 and cost 1/3 of it. But the GT-R is no where near as beautiful as either the 488 or 458.
well thats subjective...i much prefer the clinical look of the gtr
I was lucky enough to drive a 2018 488 Spider for more than 200 miles last week. Let me tell you no video can do this car justice, the engine sound and driving dynamic is unbelievable. If you want to drive it around town it handles like a regular commuter car, very easy going. As soon as you give it more than half pedal, however, the savageness of the turbo V8 unleashes and the car eats pavement at an unbelievable rate. The car handles better than any I've ever driven, and it truly feels like an extension of your own hands and feet. It's ruined my expectations for how a car should drive
The back power window wins the award 🥇
just like my 4runner lol
Woahh
That’s a Big Spider...
Never Knew Spiders Make That Sound, All I Know Is They Can Kill People
This is my dream car and if you bought one stock it would be 290,000 he put upgrades in his so that is why 350,000
Nobody ever buys a supercar stock. Ever.
Only 290k? Well shoot NOW I can afford it
aromero119 fuck huracan
Daniyar KZ 😂😂😂
Red Boy why? the huracan isn't that bad
0:08 "350 thousand dollars"
* Me on car gurus seeing the ferrari 488 spider going for 262,895*
Me: Ha! Looks like I'll be able to afford it in 5 years lol
You miss something in the beginning ( THIS IS THE ETC..🤷🏻♂️)
7:27 you can hear the turbos if u listen closely
Gustavo Parrilla
is not exactly the turbos, is the inducction.
a lot of N/A BMW engines have that "WOSSSHH" SOUND
I was lucky enough to drive this car, it is really, really, really amazing !!!
You can tell that car is ridiculously fast because you can visually see Doug being thrown back in the seat. I wish I could feel that power.
Red exterior with red interior is bothering me more than it should
AManWithAPlan4 true.....
AManWithAPlan4 dont forget the red brake calipers with the red Ferrari logo on the center of the wheel
AManWithAPlan4 I think tan interior will forever look the best with a Ferrari red exterior
AManWithAPlan4 same here, a big no no
AManWithAPlan4 because you can't own one? lel
Whom tf lets doug drive their 488

This car is built for the driver. And your son who's about to enter "wet mode"
wut
Wet mode is for the rain... perv
Doug, I absolutely love your sense of humor, your energy, your stupid grin and your excited facial expressions. I am a fan.
I grew up poor too , after 10 years in the Marine Corps , yup still poor...
I don't like lame people , you sound like a scared little girl whos scared and has no balls .
Us military is the only reason the United states is rich
I Am Sekou Just because you're in the military doesn't necessarily mean you'll be off "destroying someone's country."
Or does it :D
invest your money in water. You'll be rich in 35-50 years.
My $5000 BMW 540i has the BMW logo on its valve stem caps ... just saying
that 540i wasnt 5k when it was new... thats for sure lol
True, but it was only about $50k
Piece of crap.
All cars should have a speedometer and tachometer for the passenger.
Not ones that dont deserve it
doug: the rear window goes down, its truly a great feature.
Honda del sol: *Excuse me?*
At what speed does it catch fire?
LAD Fan about 300 mph
When it stops, suddenly after crashing.
7:45 this guy trashed the c7 for the same thing he praises the Ferrari for.
This is my favorite car at this moment. Thank you for the review Doug. I learn things from your reviews, that I don't from others.
No crazy indents, roof scoops, spoilers. Just a beautifully shaped car, a real Ferrari .
I kinda feel like Doug is saying that you NEED to waste the money.
You’re gay that’s exactly what I say to myself when I see that car.
Jon Allen I didn’t see his name so I just thought you called him gay and I just thought, damn Jon, hahahah
That's because you do. If you can afford a Ferrari and you don't have one then you need to reconsider your life, lol
Carson Barbee If I could afford a Ferrari but not have one it's probably because I'd have an Aston or a Bentley
honda del sol has a power rear window just so you know, not a first lol
zach miller and vtec. Let's not forget thay
So does the Ridgeline.
Folopolis I just mentioned the del Sol because it came out like 10 years before the ridgeline and it's a similar layout vs Ridgeline being a truck
Did you really laugh out loud at that?
I used to own a Del Sol and this is exactly what I thought about when Doug salivated over the window.
My favorite cars:
Ferrari 488
Ferrari 812 Superfast
Corvette ZR1
Corvette Z06 Carbon 65
Meh i like the Mclaren 720s
Doug the type of guy to put a sweaty Dunkin' cup in a 488 Spider
2:10 That display has the resolution of a TI-83+ calculator. Not that it would be an important feature at all, but for $350,000 they could've thrown in an OLED display, could they not?
Toarcade yep
Toarcade yup.... I hate when car manufacturers cheap out on the smallest details
Toarcade lol. cmon.... that's at least a T-85 resolution.
Toarcade true, but do you buy a ferrari for a display or for the mechanics and performance ?! anyway, watch the display of gtc4lusso and 812 superfast .... those are very good !
Lorenzo Emili But ya'know... 350,000$ but The display from a calculator... Do you get the point?
1:55 finally a car i dont have to ask jesus to take the wheel. He'll have his own instrument panel to guide me with.
3:28 - 3:45 Count on How many times he is shaking his head.
Edit: forgot an 'i' on "times".

I got to rent one of these for 24 hrs. It was expensive but one of the most fun days of my life. Truly a great car with a great motor, great feel, great sound and pictures and movies do not do the beauty of this car justice at all.
Ushouldbe Fladaboscan Have you ever driven huracan before? if so, which one has better experience?
The people who disliked are jealous Lamborghini fans
Dojo Jojo I'm sure most rational Lambo fans don't really care. I like both companies, and that's a stance I'm sure is more prevalent in the car community than that Marvel vs DC-esque attitude you're portraying Lamborghini fans as having.
Dojo Jojo yeah I hate lambos
Lamborghinis are terrible i really hate them they used to make tractors
Dojo Jojo im thinking cant afford it
I personally believe that Ferrucio proved his point. Both are great
8:52 the smile says it all
:D
14:45 for amazingness.
No one can do a better review then this Legend Doug
3:20 Wait, is that seat panel plastic?! In a Ferrari?!
That threw me off a bit too. At least make it carbon fiber pattern plastic!
04dram04 Do you think it should be Carbon fiber? I think that it is great that they made gorgeous car, but still thought about price and left all this expensive unneccessary shit out.
"bet your Camry doesn't have that".. Well it has cruise control, which does the same thing!
mcumerlato I think the "pit speed" is a speed limiter. So no matter how much you press the gas it won't let you accelerate past the speed limit you have preset.
there are various types of cruise control, and there are the types that limit your max speed
This means you are completely in control of the car, the speed is just limited.
i hear ppl are liking the 458 more than the 488,,,what do you think?
I prefer the 458 over the 488 because
- Designed by Pininfarina
- Looks better IMO
- Is naturally aspirated (tho I have nothing against turbos)
- Is cheaper to buy
- Performance is good enough for any normal person not doing laps the same speed of a professional
I love how 7 minutes into the video and he’s already driving
