Koby is my favorite character in the series. He represents true humility, humbleness, empathy and so many more virtues. He is the perfect example of what a Marine should be and care about. For me it's not a coincidence that he is the first person/friend our protagonist comes across and that they depart for the exact opposite paths so early on in the story. My theory is that he'll have a major role against the fight with Imu. His moment in Marineford against Akainu was monumental in my eyes. He attracted the eyes of individuals such as BB, Law, Garp, Marco, Kizaru ( who was about to obliterate Law's ship and hypothetically lead to Luffy drowning) and Sengoku. He got an honest praise from Shanks too! I believe that his words of humility resonated with everyone listening to him. Yes, even BB. The war stopped for a few seconds due to this young Marine's speech about the value and preservation of life, an ideology that every Marine should strive to have as they're fundamental reason for fighting. I believe that was the moment Garp realized how vital his role is. You can argue that Oda could've come up with another reason for Kizaru's attack to be stalled so Luffy could escape safely, but he didn't. He chose to give Koby that part. He'll act for the side of the Marines, Luffy for the side of the pirates and Sabo (possibly) for the side of the Revolutionaries. Ideally though, I'd prefer it if it was just Luffy and Koby. Not implying that Koby will reach Luffy's level of strength anytime soon or be on equal footing with him in that fight since Luffy is obviously the "chosen one", the Sun God/JoyBoy and all ,fighting against the final villain. I would like to fit Dragon somewhere in there, but my agenda just loves this idea of Luffy and Koby being the final enemies of Imu. I consider their importance equal in the sides they represent.
If Luffy carries the will of Roger, and Koby carries the will of Garp, and Blackbeard carries the will of Rocks, maybe we’ll get God Valley part 2 with Luffy and Koby teaming up to save Garp from Blackbeard
I hope not. Tbh, Garp is too dangerous to keep alive. And if Garp WAS killed, tbh that would make the Blackbeard crew the most fearsome crew in the world. Garp was the best of the Marines, he fought Roger multiple times, teamed up with Roger to take down the Rocks crew, and other adventures we don't know about. His death would turn the world to chaos, if Oda goes that route. It would put more of a priority on Marine bounties to show that ANY Marine can be killed, it would increase the Blackbeard crew's numbers, demoralize the Marines, and increase the morale of pirates.
@@rudybarrera9285 I mean, can you imagine what would happen if he KILLED Garp? If he isn't killed right after the fight, chances are BB is not gonna kill him anytime soon and is gonna try some political skullduggery. It's one thing for 2 equal powers to go to war, it's another to piss off a Yonko who has just punched the world's strongest creature THROUGH an island, two influential and well loved Navy heroes, and your own strongest subordinate while trying to kill Garp. Zoro alone can already cut mountains in half, and we haven't seen new Sanji pushed to his limit, Jimbei is just every devil fruit reliant pirate's(ie, everyone there except BB and Aokiji) nightmare, AND Hancock who already took out several titanic captains at once is sailing to join Luffy, so at the very least he's losing all of Hachinisu in that fight before the marines even factor in. He can't even use his full Quake power to defend, or Hachinisu will be erased like God Valley. Also, since noone has been given Moira's fruit, he might still be alive, which is another ticking time bomb waiting to get revenge on him. BB has actually been playing it pretty safe skulking around the sidelines and grabbing power after everyone's already tuckered out, I doubt he would suddenly want to put himself in the middle like that.

not sure about anyone else, but yeah, i was actually surprised by coby's ability. don't forget, not everyone is a walking encyclopedia on one piece, who remembers everything that ever happened, especially something in an ova/tv special. i've only seen the ova once and i'm not even sure 3d2y is considered canon, so even if i had remember it, i would have considered the metal ball feat about as valid a measuring stick for coby's actual strength in the manga as luffy defeating shiki in strong world.
Koby is a perfect example of why I hate Usopp so much. In the beginning he was arguably weaker than Usopp but he was willing to put in the effort to improve.
Yes, I like how you mentions that willpower or ambition is what Haki is all about and that it is one of the major themes of _One Piece_. I would like to add on to that point. Haki beautifully encompasses the different personalities and ambitions of the different characters. For example, Sanji is a strong willed character, especially when it does not entail hurting a woman, which was beautifully illustrated when he begged Robin to help him escape from Black Maria. Other examples include but are not limited to when Sanji sensed Tashigi cry in Punk Hazard, when Zoro sensed the booze near Onigashima, when Usopp really wanted to remember Luffy and help him escape from Sugar in Dressrosa. Without question, Haki embodies characters' personalities and ambitions ever-so artistically and more enjoyably than other fictional power / magic systems.
For us who have glasses you definitely get used it but you also don’t. Especially if you wear them all day once you take them off you can feel the marks left on your face but also get the feeling that your face is finally free. Since I do sports I wear contacts too but I plan on getting laser eye surgery at some point because both glasses and contacts are a pain in the ass.
I found out I needed glasses when I was in 5th grade nearly 18 years ago now. When i wore glasses at the beginning, I was deathly afraid it would fall off. So, I had strings attached to them to prevent that. I think around middle to high school, i realized those were not necessary. Now, I am very much used to my glasses but I can't just forget the fact that I am wearing glasses because my peripheral vision aren't quite covered by it. it is also constantly rubbing the bridge of my nose. So, I have to lift it up. I do think having glasses are the reason I have a very mild near permanent headache. The worst aspect of wearing glasses at all times is that it does get dirty and it was a pain during the pandemic to wear mask with my glasses which fogs it up pretty badly.
Oda is a genius, all this time since chapter 1 he was establishing two diffrent protagonist journeys. Luffy from the pirates side and koby from the marine side. We could litterally make a 1000 chapter manga about koby and garp
As a person who can't see anything more than 1 foot infront of him without their glasses, the worst part is when you haven't cleaned them in a long time and they get all smudged up.
Koby and Helmeppo's first mission with Bogart would be cool if it went something like Yuji's first mission with Nanami in JJK. A tough lesson to learn about duty or sacrifice that sticks with them from the beginning
The only hard thing about glasses is because I work in a kitchen, so acne right there where the bridge is can go a little haywire. Otherwise I love glasses for the style
I think it hits more when you think abt how most marines have a hard time being honest and true to their justice while being a marine like how garp was unable to save ace even tho he wanted to or how kuzan had to leave all together just to find his justice
Hello Matt! Fun fact about those humpback whales, the reason they go to Antarctica is to feed on MASSIVE algae blooms that produce the krill they need to eat. The melting ice in the summer for Antarctica provides the perfect conditions for the algae. It’s cool how one thing can just chain link to something as big as a whales entire energy source
I’m imagining a small moment where Koby and Alvida encounter each other after so long and while Alvis read about Koby she’s still stunned that captured chore boy grew so much maybe a little flirting too like “if you were still on my crew I might have fallen for you” or something meanwhile koby holds to his promise to capture Alvidaa
I have had glasses and worn them since i was 5 and at this point it feels like a part of my identity, I also like how they look on my face. The only points i wish i didn't need to use them are when i want to use VR headsets, and when i'm on amusment rides like roller coasters (just afraid i'd loose them)
9/10 for wearing glasses. I need them to see stuff far way. I just don't use them everyday is because inconvenience, but damn do I like cool with them.
I wear glasses and contacts about 50/50. Glasses are easy to throw on whenever and I have some pretty nice-looking pairs. They also help me see so there's that.
Glasses: 8/10 Pros: can see better appear intelligent can do the anime glasses push (or Kuro's adjusting) Cons: humidity/condensation rainy weather running
What if the story took place after then end of one piece? With koby as the protagonist: his rivalry with the pirate king luffy, his jouney to become the greatest admiral, and how he contributes on making the world a better place. flashbacks of koby's training and missions with garp. Perhaps akainu doesnt die but takes on a role like Zephyr to bring about his own version of justice after the deafeat of pirate king Luffy Helmeppo trying to fight zoro 😂 Also could cover the stories of others in the one piece world, like seeing zoro training momonosuke in wano, and many more! Would be awesome to watch.🎉😊
yeeeeesss kobyyyy video I love koby is the best marine... can we talk about... he deserves a promotion a ton of people saw him destroying a giant island first... he saved 800 marines... and this time no errors... people were saying he didn't deserve it be a rear admiral... I understand that... I was hoping to see him get promoted after fighting boa... but that never happened... then he was taken by Blackbeard and obviously was considered missing and you don't promote him... but not after this... the marines can't deny koby strength
This chapter event will have a sparkling effect on many endgame characters. Dragon won't not only have to react to his father's status, but also about the bunch of punks the latter trained to be the Future of the Marines. Garp was part of the reason Shanks grew up as a pirate on Roger's ship. Shanks saved Koby from Sakazuki in Marineford, he'll definitely have strong feelings and thoughts about the situation. Luffy will be Luffy, that's enough. And Sakazuki will have his worst paperwork day.
0:50 I kinda have to wear glasses for resting my eyes, and I got them with blur light and anti reflect filters, and I ended up wearing them all the time with no issues whatsoever. I can go about my life almost perfectly without them (though at the end of the day my eyes hurt), but I don't understand the issue/discomfort some people get from wearing them. It's definitely WAY more annoying to see blurry when I'm tired
I like wearing glasses when I don't have long hair, it helps me see and I usually wear my glasses at home to game because I need that sharpness from my astigmatism correction
I've been wearing glasses since middle school. They kinda just become a part of you. When I first got em I was told I didn't need them all the time, but I wore them too much cause I liked the look so now I need em for real lol. They're ok. Misplacing them is the worse, but I can still kinda see without em so it's not too bad. My brother and dad on the other hand might as well be blind without em. I'd say having glasses is a solid 7/10.
I wear prescription glasses & also prescription glasses designed for scotopic sensitivity. The latter are useful when experiencing brain inflammation as they are large wraparounds which filter all light.
About your question about glasses. I think for men its the few accesoaries that they can go away with (next to watches, signet rings, etc), so its a nice fashion choice. If you have to wear one wear it with style :)
I do like wearing glasses yes. It completes my look. Garp is a top 5 One Piece character for me, Koby is a top 20 because of what he represents. Recent One Piece events have been cathartic.
Hi, marine biology student here. Dolphins are whales, feel free to talk about them. I see dolphins when working in Florida Bay Also I don't mind wearing glasses, it's annoying if they get scratched or there's rain
To answer you're question about glasses, yes I like my glasses lol I always wanted glasses as a kid, and when I found out I needed them I was so happy. Though I don't like them when I have to wear a mask, so I'll wear my contacts for that but otherwise love my glasses
Been wearing glasses for 10 years now. At some point, you get used to it so it just becomes a part of life. Yet, I'm pretty sure the majority of us wished we hadn't ruined our eyes.
Things with the Gorōsei and Imu might be a Marineford Arc type of Arc when it comes too connecting the Straw Hats but instead of it being the Marines and The Whitebeard Pirates, It'll be the World Goverment itself (added God's Knights) and Revolutionary Army. The Straw Hats will be a wild card as if asked, Luffy would help Sabo but even then the Straw Hat's would be more Side Characters while the likes of Dragon and Sabo are more the Main Characters. It may very well be after Laugh Tale is reached as it holds 'a tresure that will turn the world upside down'
My glasses are pretty okay. It’s weird, i can’t see without them and that’s a bit strange but overall I think it looks fine on me. You too Mr. Sir. Trekking One Hundred and One. As for Koby’s epithet, “The Noble Knight of the Marines”? Eh? Edit: Also get some weird “phantom pains” where I feel like my glasses are on even without it but idk. Just used to it lol.
Yeah! I like wearing glasses , most people look decent in them. The frame is real killer though , it can make or break your looks. But yeah , I don't mind wearing specs. I'd much rather them than contacts , as contacts have many issues and have some unsafe moments.
I grew to hate wearing glasses over the years. They get dirty often and in winter they get foggied every f-ing time you go inside a building or a room from outside. That being said nowadays my eyesight got much better and even though it hasn't been cured 100%, I decided to ditch my glasses. For the first time in years I didn't have to feel like I was observing the world through window. It was very refreshing. When I see other people wearing glasses it kind of seems weird to me that they would do this to themselves when they don't have to. But then again, if I were to just wear glasses occasionally then maybe I would've grown to like them more as well. And I do think many people look fashionable wearing them.
almost each major member of SWORD can be compared to each Straw Hat or ally of the Straw Hats Koby=Luffy obviously Prince Gruce=Zoro because they have similar vibes Hibari=Boa because **S I M P** Kujaku=Nami because again similar vibes Helmepo=Ussop because they're both cowards and there's probably more comparasons but idk

not sure about anyone else, but yeah, i was actually surprised by coby's ability. don't forget, not everyone is a walking encyclopedia on one piece, who remembers everything that ever happened, especially something in an ova/tv special. i've only seen the ova once and i'm not even sure 3d2y is considered canon, so even if i had remember it, i would have considered the metal ball feat about as valid a measuring stick for coby's actual strength in the manga as luffy defeating shiki in strong world.
Koby is a perfect example of why I hate Usopp so much. In the beginning he was arguably weaker than Usopp but he was willing to put in the effort to improve.
Koby definitely needs his own spin-off series.
Thank you for the video! I always enjoy watching your videos!
I mean, fujitora's position is open now... mayhaps we getting a new big boy?
If there ever will be a One Piece Spin off, I hope it's about Koby.
I’ve had glasses since I was three. I love them, they complete all of my outfits and just suit me well. Can’t imagine not having them
I could see Koby beginning "The new age of marines" a parallel to "The great age of pirates"
Cool
Never been this early to a Tekking drop. Caught it perfectly on break!
As someone who loves glasses characters who has now become a glasses character. It's the best.
Been waiting for this update on our best boy!
Oda is a genius, all this time since chapter 1 he was establishing two diffrent protagonist journeys.
Luffy from the pirates side and koby from the marine side.
We could litterally make a 1000 chapter manga about koby and garp
A spin off of koby and him fighting pirates would be pretty awesome tbh
As a person who can't see anything more than 1 foot infront of him without their glasses, the worst part is when you haven't cleaned them in a long time and they get all smudged up.
Glasses are not the worst thing but I wouldn't recommend. They're more of a accessory if you find a pair that suits you
Koby and Helmeppo's first mission with Bogart would be cool if it went something like Yuji's first mission with Nanami in JJK. A tough lesson to learn about duty or sacrifice that sticks with them from the beginning
The only hard thing about glasses is because I work in a kitchen, so acne right there where the bridge is can go a little haywire. Otherwise I love glasses for the style
We NEED Koby and Sakazuki interactions!
Immediately like the video because the the thumbnail was spitting facts
Koby= Deku.
Seriously they are so fucking similar it's wild and I love it. They'd be best friends by the way
0:50 I don't wear glasses, but when I try them on, people usually tell me that I look much more sophisticated and serious
The only points i wish i didn't need to use them are when i want to use VR headsets, and when i'm on amusment rides like roller coasters (just afraid i'd loose them)
Keep up the great work and videos tekking
Love how you said Koby and Hibari and as soon as you did you showed a picture of Koby blushing because of Rebecca hahah
I would love a Koby spin off series ! Or light novels
Glasses: 8/10
Pros:
can see better
appear intelligent
can do the anime glasses push (or Kuro's adjusting)
Cons:
humidity/condensation
rainy weather
running
Can confirm… I like wearing glasses and also think they make me look cooler 🤓
What if the story took place after then end of one piece? With koby as the protagonist:
his rivalry with the pirate king luffy, his jouney to become the greatest admiral, and how he contributes on making the world a better place.
flashbacks of koby's training and missions with garp. Perhaps akainu doesnt die but takes on a role like Zephyr to bring about his own version of justice after the deafeat of pirate king Luffy
Helmeppo trying to fight zoro 😂
Also could cover the stories of others in the one piece world, like seeing zoro training momonosuke in wano, and many more!
I Don't Really Like The Way Glasses Look Aesthetically But All The Maintenance Stuff Doesn't Bother Me At All. Solid 8/10, Makes Me Not Blind.
I see dolphins when working in Florida Bay
Also I don't mind wearing glasses, it's annoying if they get scratched or there's rain
I wake up, and im like, "AH, I can't see, where is my glasses", and can spend several minutes looking for my glasses.
Garp:leave the old man in that jungle
Also garp: alright ace and luffy your like 4 year old now live in this jungle later.
It may very well be after Laugh Tale is reached as it holds 'a tresure that will turn the world upside down'
After One Piece ends, I bet you there will be a fan manga or spin off approved by Oda that would tell the story from Koby's perspective.
Out of all the characters tekking could cosplay, cosplaying cabin boy Koby is by far the best
in the name of the attack it may not seem like a big deal but when you say it screaming it sounds really good, HONESTY IMPACT
I like glasses, I think I look better with them than without. But I am jealous of the fact that people can just wake up and see
Honest Impact fits Koby perfectly. Glasses are okay but I lean a bit more to not wearing.
Kobe naming his techniques like that reminds me of Gantz Abridged and Kato with his Pacifism Attack and Pacifism Barrage
I love my glasses and wear them unless I'm swimming or doing heavy labor, going to an amusement park, and the sort
Yeah! I like wearing glasses , most people look decent in them. The frame is real killer though , it can make or break your looks. But yeah , I don't mind wearing specs. I'd much rather them than contacts , as contacts have many issues and have some unsafe moments.
Hey tekking, the orange volleyball kid's name should be easy to remember since it's also naruto's wife's name.
I keep seeing him referred to as the Pink Mamba. Is this a fan thing that people just started calling him or is it legit? Either way it sounds cool
I think “Humanitarian Cross” would be a cool name for Koby. Like he clotheslines someone into the ground. Or go all Jo-Jo’s with it.
Full Koby tekking talking about Koby was so close
I like wearing glasses, gives you some aesthetic definition on the face
almost each major member of SWORD can be compared to each Straw Hat or ally of the Straw Hats
Koby=Luffy obviously
Prince Gruce=Zoro because they have similar vibes
Hibari=Boa because **S I M P**
Kujaku=Nami because again similar vibes
Helmepo=Ussop because they're both cowards
and there's probably more comparasons but idk
0:50
I needed to wear glasses ever since middle school
And it was annoying at first but I like wearing them now and I definitely think I look better in them
I now have to wear glasses. I always thought it wouldn't look good on me or it would bother me, but I like it! Never saying no to an HD world lmao
Luffy learns about Garp disappearance and that is where we see the Grand Fleet pull up too and Koby learns that both Yonko are fighting and he decides he wants to join in the fight. We got the God Valley 2.0 but instead of Rocks v Garp and Roger we got each inheritor of their will. We got the Rock pirates 2.0 v Koby with Sword and Luffy with the Straw Hats and the Grand Fleet.
