Aokiiji made sure that the Blackbeard crew doesn't kill Garp by freezing the Old Hero's body...note the ice dagger on Garp's chest... it's cauterizing the wound inflicted by Shiryu. The Blackbeard crew are convinced that Aokiiji never double crossed them. Or so they thought.
It says the disappearance of legendary hero vice admiral Garp, if he died he would had a memorial like ace, whitebeard, etc. So anything could happen at this point 🤔 maybe akoji saved him 🤷🏽♂️

As excited as I am for current events in the manga, what really has me hyped is how close we are to finally seeing Gear 5th in the anime.

Blackbeard using Pudding to steal Garp's memories and then selling him to Cross Guild is my favorite scenario. Not only can you get a God Valley flashback, it's also possible to get the Luffy's mother flashback further down the line if the Cross Guild decides to execute Garp. I suspect that the main players of that flashback are Sengoku, Garp, Crocodile and Dragon. Although i doubt Akainu will send the marines to free Garp, since Buggy is a yonko, the members of sword might go try rescue him on their own with the help of Sengoku and Tsuru. And maybe Dragon stops by to show what he can do before the great end war. Garp is his father afterall.
I see it taking Crocodile and Mihawk to force Buggy to execute Garp because I think he's terrified of Luffy.

This make me wonder something about Pudding's power. Do you think she can completely remove from someone the film roll of their memories? Like making them completely amnesic, and then having that film roll as a physical object outside of their bodies (and disconnected from them).
I guess it sounds a bit similar to what Law can do with hearts and personalities, and I suppose the filmroll would be incredibly long for someone old like Garp.

When I first watched One Piece, I thought Coby was just an ordinary side character barley anyone would talk about. I'm really surprised how much Coby changed since we first met him. People don't understand how good One Piece it is.

I'm not that scared for Garp dying because Kuzan seems to be doing the exact same thing he did to Saul and we just learnt that Saul is still alive. Also I doubt BB would kill off Garp if he was going to use Koby as a bargaining chip anyway, he just got a better bargaining chip...

I have a feeling that all of this was actually Garps and Aokiji's plan. Aokiji might have sent BB and a part of his crew to fight Law and at the exact moment Garp attacks to save Koby. He never planned to leave the island which felt pretty obvious towards the end and Aokiji primarily took the fight with Garp to build credibility and also to make sure nothing lethal happens to Garp. In the end again it was Aokiji who froze Garp. They might be planning something Big and it could be that Akainu is also in on this.

I love the name of Honesty Impact for Koby's named attack and when I first read it it made me think that he named it because of the brutal honesty Luffy has by just saying whatever he's truly thinking. Mainly when Luffy met Koby for the first time and he just blatantly called him "clumsy and dumb" as well as "worthless", but not necessarily in a mean or hostile way, he's just calling it as it is.
Fourth option of garps fate is that he somehow escapes cos its One Piece

I like the theory of BB becoming a King and going into the throneroom, but to steal Imu's Devil Fruit and complete his trifecta(Dark, Nightmare, Earth) which also allows powering up his commanders like we recently saw with Cobra in Marie Jois. Only issue I have with BB becoming a King is the timing wouldn't work out unless we're still misunderstanding the timing of all these events and Oda has purposely misled us for this arc which has a bunch of mystery and timing questions already(along with an island "500 years in the future"). If BB is to become king then it would have to happen over at least a couple weeks so arrangements could be made right? Unless BB has taken Garp to the Red Port to directly negotiate? If its taking a couple days/weeks then I assume the Straw Hats lose on Egghead and have to lick their wounds for a bit then maybe thats when Shanks or someone from his crew hand over all the ponyglyph etchings and tell Luffy how to find the "fire scarred man".
I'm also thinking it could be cool for Vegapunk to transmit all these reveals on Egghead around the world, with Morgans the worlds "news" source heading there too. Then you could have;
- Lucci revealing CP0 and admitting he started the fight on Egghead, how Enes Lobby went down, and his other orders that were "evil" to the common man.
- Saturn admitting the other 4 elder dragons exist, and that they can wipe out entire islands like Lulusia when they revolt.
- Garp telling the story of God's Valley and/or Edd War, and revealing from the "Hero of the Marines" own mouth that the WG+Marines are bad people.
- Dragon/Sabo/Vivi/Wapol revealing Imu exists and that some bigger countries should begin revolting if Alabasta and others are getting behind Sabo and the RA.
- Kuma shooting Imu or the other Elder Dragons to Egghead to reveal more.(maybe some of the rich brats in bubble suits just start raining down on Egghead for a dark comedy effect, though Kong or Sengoku if in Marie Jois would also be cool to see)
- Kizaru talking about how evil Akainu is as leader, and how he wishes that Kuzan should have stayed.
- Belo Betty speaks her words of revolution to the world, with her DF abilities being transmitted by Vegapunk to every corner of the world.
- Reveals about BB and what he is, Sword and who else is in it, and what Kuma/Pacifistas are.
There are so many possibilities for whats about to happen on Egghead, but they didn't mention Egghead transmitting all over the world for nothing to the Straw Hats.

I think Kuzan could be the man marked by flames. He has pirates come to him for info on the road ponegliffs but he really just steals them for blackbeard. He might kill the pirates too, acting as a double agent for the marines in his own way. The ponegliff thing makes sense cos it could definitely tie in with his past with Robin.
This will likely motivate Koby and make him train even more making him even stronger.

there is a theory that as always blackbeard had a plan in who he kidnapped and thet he would get pudding to take garps memory to find the burial spot of Xebec (dont know why they wouldnt destroy the body) then they would have moria turn his body into a mario and insert garps shadow into him and then as seen in an opening blackbeard would make the sky go dark so that he couldnt be defeated with light and imagine how overpowered that was like brooks shadow in ryumas body was insane and it was way stronger then brook actually was so xebec one of the strongest characters getting physically enhanced and then having garp also one of the strongest characters shadow put into him would be crazy

All theories are super cool, the only thing i'm a bit doubtful is shanks dying by blackbeard's hand in the hypotethical marineford-like war. As of now, Oda has shown us that Shanks is pretty much at roger's level by now, while blackbeard, even tho maybe not taking seriously his fights, has been shown to have some difficulties fighting against Law. That said we can't really know till oda shows us. Still all theories were super cool and i'm extremely curious what direction will the story take.

Imagine if BB wants access to Mariejois just to get Rox’s corpse?! He does have Moria after all so that is entirely possible. Maybe when all the pieces are in place, namely he gets info on Rox’s corpse whereabouts from Garp’s memories he straight up murders Moria just to give his DF powers to a trusted ally whom he can have accompany him at Mariejois. Also how epic would it be that instead of stealing DFs or secrets about DFs he just yoinks the corpse of a dude that almost destroyed Mariejois. Then again the “ corpse “ would be a skeleton by this point but who knows.

Blackbeard asking for official "King" status and be affiliated with the world government is more probable than it seems. Edward Thatch - the real life Blackbeard - was working with Charles Eden, Governor of North Carolina an official of the British Govt. The story goes as :- The British Govt. offered a royal pardon to all the pirates in the Republic of Nassau - The Pirate Haven - as a means to create a faction among the pirates, one side being in favour of this scheme and the other side not so much. The then leader (unofficial) of Nassau Captain Benjamin Hornigold (also Blackbeard's Mentor) struck a deal with the Crown's official to colonise Nassau while it would still be a free land for pirates but under the British Territory to be used a means of Trade between the British-Spaniards-French-Dutch-Scots etc. As the legend goes Hornigold lost his authority in the Pirate Republic when he bailed out Charles Vane (his former Pirate rival Henry Jenning's Quartermaster and the leader of the Anti-Pardon faction) from the authorities under his word that Vane would accept the Royal Pardon to which vane eventually agreed but betrayed Hornigold. Vane would even keep plundering and looting merchant ships no matter the Flag they hoist and return to the Port of Nassau every now and then essentially insulting and punching the Crown in their face. He eventually grew stronger, started to take control of the island and forced Hornigold to go into hiding as he was losing authority, opposed Vane's views and Invited the British Crown onto these free lands. As the Crown official fled Nassau the word reached the Crown. A Pirate Hunting Squadron was created under Captain Woodes Rogers who would later chase out Vane from Nassau and Hornigold would fold to the Crown to essentially give up that island in control of Rogers. While on the run Vane tried to contact Thatch multiple times to create an alliance and take back Nassau which was possible given Blackbeard's terror and his large fleet but he was suffering from syphilis and wanted to live out his last days in peace (if no cure is found) and therefore rejected Vane's offer. Vane would later be cast off of his ship due to his incompetence to fight against a French merchant vessel and essentially endangering his crew's life due to his own cowardice and would later be captured by the crown and publicly hanged. Meanwhile Thatch took the Pardon and continued to work as a Pirate, under the political protection the Governor of North Carolina, giving a cut of the loots to him (he would also plunder British ships) and although Blackbeard's crew comprised of a lot of freed slaves he did not see himself as a god/saviour and would also sell slaves to the Governor. Governor of Virginia (the richest trading state) scared of the plunder of his merchant ships, when it was reported a pirate gathering was formed in Okracoke Island (Blackbeard's known refuge), possibly when Vane last met blackbeard to offer an alliance, ordered Lt. Robert Maynard to finally go and finish Blackbeard's tale which he successfully accomplishes by tricking Blackbeard to board Lt's ship and attack him by surprise. It is said that Blackbeard took 5 bullets and several deep cut wounds before dying. The Royal Navy would then attach his severed head on their ship's bow as a sign. It is believed that soon after Blackbeard's death the golden age of Piracy ended. Hornigold was sent on a Manhunt for Charles Vane by Capt. Woodes Rogers. It is said that he then took up privateering (attacking pirates under the Crown's name), but nothing is known about him since then and he is speculated to have died during an expedition. Also Black Sam Bellamy and Paulsgrave (Partners) were notable figures in Pirate history. They became the richest pirates only in under a year but Black Sam died in a sea storm. Paulsgrave lived but don't know what happened to him. Henry Jenning's accepted the Pardon and continued to live as a wealthy plantation owner
TL;DR - Blackbeard irl took a Royal pardon (became affiliated with the govt) and still lived his Pirateering Life in North Carolina under their Governor's political protection. In his 2yrs of Pirate life Blackbeard essentially became a menace to everyone, other Pirates and Navy alike. Obviously OP's Blackbeard/Thatch/Teach is much different and the Good Parts of his story is probably what Gol D Roger is based on (short career+made a name for himself+a menace+couldn't be defeated in straight forward way) and a few aspects of his life may be given to OP's Blackbeard, like the one I just told)

8:20 I've been wondering about this recently, as this clearly wasn't Blackbeard's original plan: he had intended to capture Luffy for the title of Warlord, but ran into Ace instead - meaning the Battle of Marineford was a consequence of an accidental change in his plan!
So the question is: was he always planning to get Whitebeard's fruit, or would he had settled for another powerful one? And if so, what was his plan to get it? Any plan involving going to the old man's territory would seem optimistic to say the least.
Though I suppose such speculation is useless when it comes to fiction: what happened was most likely the only course of events Oda had thought of.
This color spread is one of my favorites. And I love that you can tell that it’s not only the East Blue 5 but the East Blue 5 from Arlong Park. Maybe ever. This did not feel like a death for Garp. It felt like the setup for another Luffy rescue mission. But I'm going to predict this rescue will be successful because the rest of the Straw Hats will be there. And he won't be fighting against other Marines as we say in this chapter, they’re reticent to go against a Yonko.
It makes sense for me that the blackbeard pirates will make a partnership with cross like kaido and big mom. The result will be that they will try to public execute garp to show their strength but straw hats with the sword marines will partnership and a big war will occur where we will see luffy fighting blackbeard and zoro fighting mihawk. Shanks also will need to emerge.
