If it was me the save the customer a few bucks, I'd change the scroll to a Tecumseh recip. Mounting is the same maybe some piping. Flush it, suction and liquid line drier and maybe some MO99...
You are the man I've seen countless change outs on the tube people just slapping compressors in without an acid test 🙂🍺🍺🏌 now at least you know you need neutralizer , a suction dryer , and with POE I'm not sure you shouldn't do a complete change out ! Give the customer options with the cheapest NO GUARANTEES !!! THANK YOU FOR THE TEST !!! 🥃🥃🍺🍺🍺🍇🏌 Stay safe. And if the TD after a week stays within°2 Leave it in. Retired(werk'n) keyboard super tech. You don't really need to do an acid test on a compressor swap. You already know the compressor is bad. You are removing all the freon and putting in new. I've seen some people acid test so they can use the old Freon though, but that voids any warranty. I've been working on refrigeration for 43 years
Nice job
I read that as *doing an acid TRIP* XD
lol
👍

good thing that's you. he needs an evap coil with that acid in there. new system would be more cost effective
Quote him a new system, or repair and definitely purge the line set out with nitrogen. I’m not a fan of RX11 or other additives, just my two cents.

Oil !!!
38 years second gen?
I think that’s what the tech did on my mini-split. The compressor worked for 2 weeks and shorted again.
Was there even a drier?
Where does the acid come from?
When Freon gets too hot. When it burns it turns to acid
@@HVACGUY thanks for the reply
Georgia is hot am I right?!!
Yeh we hit 100 degrees this week.
