@@UniversalAudio I hear you. LUNA is great for mixing and mastering but it’s lacking with production. I know you want to be the best at everything so step it up guys 💪
I love to write good reviews. Here I can’t. I own a X8 and a X16. Bought a lot of plugins, easy 5K+. And now O have to pay for a plugin I already own - against the statement that was made by UAD for native versions of plugins that you already bought. Thats a good example for not appreciating loyal customers. As soon as the lifespan of my hardware expires I’m going to choose a different brand.
u forgot to mention that you have to pay for the SSL upgrade, something UA hasn't done yet with their native rollout. I'm assuming they're indicating that they want to start charging for updates like Waves.
@@RicardoTolbert I probably won't partake, though. I stopped using their SSL strip years ago, in favour of PA and now SSL Native, who has my bases covered
It’s $200 for the upgrade if you own the signature edition. That’s 12 plugins for under $17 each, not bad at all. I tried to buy UAD complete 2 and was only offered a $100 voucher for 61 plugs in the bank lol. Not worth it at all.
@@Ryan-TheBeatTweak I have the Signature Edition v1, but I also have the LA-6176, Verve lite and full, Helios Type 69, Manley Vari-Mu and Ampex ATR-102 which were on some sales this year. Someone who has a Signature ed. v1, and there are no plugins that I mentioned, they will pay the same as me, who already have half of those new plugins... I think this time I will skip any update...
I was able to get the Native version for $10, I upgraded from the SSL 4K bundle, I also had the legacy G and E installed with my harware when I bought it yonks ago, (channel strip and Bus comp), using the code shown at the checkout. In the scheme of things, it's a pretty low cost upgrade, especially considering what I've paid for UAD plugs in the past. And since they've added the sidechain function, it's actually a new feature so it seems pretty fair to me.
I own both the ssl channel strip & the G comp in DSP WHY should I pay $50 for a native upgrade ? Why start charging for native drops NOW? DIABOLICAL 🤦🏾♂️
Hi UAD 😊👏 please make a native version of the Ocean Way Studios plugin! That’s the one I’m waiting for since the moment you announced you are going native
good work drew, so would you have compression on a drum fx group and then have the g4 on the. master or would you just bypass those drum groups and put this on themaster, I also then use ozome on the aster for my mastering. what is the best way to go about it. @@UniversalAudio i want to get it can you hit me with a special code, or also if i buy the apolo do i get this inc anyway as i was thinking that way roudn. thx buddy..... loca UA I have a few of our plug ins but want more.
This is great but @ 5:43 when you explain about external Side chain what is in your mix bus? I see you're sidechaining to the kick and snare but whats Sidechaining to the kick and snare? the instruments, bass and vocals?
Please offer the free native upgrade to the owners of the DSP version like you did with the previous native releases. I'm disappointed that I would have to buy it again if I want it to run native. I'd even accept a free upgrade that doesn't include the new sidechain feature, though it would be nice to have. 😉 It's not too late to offer it for free to previous owners as you did with other plugins in the past...
Like the SSL mixer shown in the video, can you add the SSL Bus compressor (and a master limiter) to the master/main bus in UA console? I hope this could be a feature added to the Apollos since Sonarworks will be available soon.
This compressor on the master track is the boss. I keep coming back to it, everything feels like jumping from the speakers after engaged. Glad it's native now, quite annoyed to have to pay for this being a long time UAD customer. Even more annoyed to be charged for the amp sim plugins owning the pedals.
Thanks that there is a native-version now. Slowly it is time to get a UAD-2 Satellite, cause my CPU is aching under the load of your plugins Christmas is coming ,)
Quick open question...i was wondering if I should get VCA comp like this glue comp if i have digital comp like sonible smart comp2...from my opinion i think VCA imparts very little character and seem very transparent?? So i just use digital comp instead...whats ur opinion on this?
Wait... so they gave us native versions of all the other DSP plugins (well, as many as theyve done so far) but with this one they are asking us to pay for the native version? I have this plugin on Console already. Its the exact same plugin. Oh but muh sidechain. Yep and that doesnt get added to the DSP version lol 10 dollars plz. Are they not giving this one to DSP plugin owners, even though they did with like 30 other plugins already? I can hear Drews snarky retort already.
@@bresk13 The bad blood they created with this had better be worth the couple hundred thousand dollars (maybe) they will make. This reminds me of that time they tried to charge people 3 dollars or some BS for not logging into UA Connect to register plugins on time. So slimey.
Okay guys, can we stop with the negative comments. If you don't need a plugin, just don't buy it. Cost you nothing pay it no mind. Let's get back to making music.
They’ve Fully taken advantage of us they know the amount of DSP the channel strips take up we could really use the native versions which is why they’re asking for money
Having to have hardware to use plugins has always been a bad look. Glad they are finally expanding their horizons. Albums have been made without UA plugins so it was a good move on their part to ensure that their plugins are now used on every major release moving forward. Not to cater to the few, sorry bud.
@@kylebostick2601 Not sure what the push back is. I do prefer native versions for mixing. The only point I was making that UA started charging for the native "upgrade" unexpectedly. They did not charge for native versions for all plugins they released over past year, for the people who already owned those plugins. Seems like they're just testing how many users they will alienate vs. the revenue they get. Which feels bad.
