This comment will mean nothing to many folk, including the reviewer, but the reason I might be interested in the Grandland is size. We currently have a Ford C-Max, and sadly these have been discontinued. We're obviously not a major customer segment for car makers, but we LOVE the C-Max size and find the Kuga, Tucson, etc just look and feel too big. Then there's a drop down to Puma or Kona etc which look and feel too small. The Mokka was looking OK till Vauxhall reduced its height significantly so we would have lost the high driving position we like. T-Cross maybe, Karoq possibly. And this Grandland. It's 2 inches lower than the Sportage, Tiguan, Tucson, Kuga and generally a little narrower and shorter. So it doesn't feel 'too big', and it may pass our Goldilocks test. Notice, I haven't said a word about drive quality, size of wheels, yada yada, so I freely acknowledge that my perspective isn't that of most people who would read this.
Would be nice if they updated the interior to match how they face lifted the outside, im in 2 minds i love the look on the outside but feel the inside is lacking compared to others.
Are there blindspot sensors? When you put the car in reverse do the wing mirrors tilt? Is there a leather interior heated seat and heated windscreen option?
Just ordered the top spec one as new Peugeot 3008 hasn’t got the power tailgate or heated seats, they cost extra. It also never has heated steering wheel or windscreen. Apart from the pano opening sunroof on my now 4 year old 3008 this in ultimate spec the seats are in Alcantara. So me very happy, same diesel auto still with the toys but cheaper than the less spec 3008!
The reason the screen has climate controls on either side is that it's the same system as Peugeot use, and Peugeots do not have separate physical climate controls. The new Vauxhall exterior styling direction is great, I think, but the interior is dull. (That's why I bought the Peugeot 3008. Mechanically the same but really chic interior.) It's a shame, because the Vauxhall interior is actually very good on substance, which makes the lack of style the more regrettable. Let's look at the details, which this road tester skimmed over: 1. Seats. These a genuinely better than you'll find elsewhere for the price (Kia, Nissan). AGR stands for Aktion fuer gesunde Ruecken. It's a German campaign supported by doctors and therapists. Their approval is worth having. If you drive for a living, like I used to as a sales engineer, it makes a lot of difference to not have chronic back pain. 2. Secondary controls. These (e.g. the already mentioned heater controls) are real buttons and knobs, mostly grouped by function. These are much better than touch controls (offered by Volkswagen, for instance). Again, if you drive for a living, you will appreciate this. The reason why touch screens are so popular with car makers is that, for models with a lot of electronic functions, they are cheap. Fewer buttons = fewer separate parts = cheaper. All the more praiseworthy that the Vauxhall has real buttons. Shame about the style though. Now I'm retired, these virtues aren't so important to me.
Not to keen on this but vauxhall as turned the corner Corsa No1 seller mokka no3 best seller and new astra will definitely be top seller looks great vauxhall as already knocked ford of top spot well done let's have something built in uk
I have a 2024 Grandland ultimate and it's a nice car to be honest , it does have a few negatives like the gearbox whine , transmition is very is quite short on the gears and the braking system seems to feel underpowered. Happy with it but no it's not as good as a Kia Sportage
Sportage would need a petrol tanker following you around as it just drinks the fuel, particularly this new e10 rubbish, I'm down to 25miles per gallon with e10 petrol!
3008 I think. Whichever one it is, it's a rebodied Peugeot. I'd have a Skoda Karoq with a few options for this sort of money....or, as the reviewer pointed out, a Kia Sportage.
BUT what they don't tell you is the engine will need a new wet belt every 5 years or 70000 miles. That's gonna cost you between £500 to £1000! The issues will start with a low oil pressure fault. If you don't get it done the Oil pick up will get blocked then it's goodbye engine 🙄🙄
Don't buy one, the engine has a design fault. There is a rubber cam belt that runs through the oil sump it swells and corrodes and bits of rubber block the oil filter up, you have to service the engine twice a year but the belt is only good for 35000 miles, once mine is out of the garage next week I'm selling it. Bought new February 2020 it has 32500 miles on it, still under warranty but was refused twice by Vauxhall as the service was due 3 days before I could get it to the Vauxhall garage because of Christmas had to go to complaints Never again will I buy Vauxhall
I like the Citroen C5 Aircross more. The Grandland feels very dated, and I don’t think the Vizor has actually helped. I also really don’t like interiors that appear to have one long screen on the dashboard. It looks old to me
There are better cars out there. I think Vauxhall have lost their way on styling, I also think it’s time to drop the Vauxhall nameplate and rebadge as Opel.
Avoid this car. I have one 1.6 D and it always a problem. Every now and then there is something going wrong. 1.2 petrol has a problem with wet timing belt
Why would any thinking person buy a car called 'Grandland', sounds too like Neverland! Who's the marketing genius (team players obviously ) who came up with this daft name? 'In big bold lettering' so everyone knows your'e driving a Grandland' said without a trace of ironry.
How could anyone buy a car with such a stupid name, whatever the merits of the car itself! I'd feel mortally embarrassed any time people asked what car I drove.
Atleast we dont need Suzukis at ur door, unreliable. And u use that for flaming it’s obvious, why don’t you stop being a troll. I even doubt about those 10,000 reliable car consumer reports in that scientific level I doubt Science there.

Nope the front end is different backend is exactly the same and inside is exactly the same literally nope point in getting this take the sportage it’s better in every way trust me and I’m a Vauxhall fan

Karoq miles better, even the cops drive them so far ahead.
@@TinaVaughn007 Thanks - will take another look.
@@TinaVaughn007Karoq sucks, thirsty petrol engine. Had one sold it and got the 8 speed auto diesel grandland and boy it sips fuel and drives solid
I opted for the Grandland Turbo GS Line in black with black wheels and darkened rear windows. It looks fantastic and I love driving it in sport mode 😃
Would be nice if they updated the interior to match how they face lifted the outside, im in 2 minds i love the look on the outside but feel the inside is lacking compared to others.
I’ve got a plug in hybrid and its the best car I’ve ever owned. I’ve previously had a Freelander, Sportage and new 3008.
I like the transmission whine, it gives the car character
Good coverage. I wish you'd mention the blue tooth and screen when trying to make a call....?
The Sportage is in a completely different league, zero competition.
I've had one for 8 months and it's brilliant.
And is the engine as noisy as they say.
What if you drive an old astra H how does the grandland feel to drive then? Is it a massive upgrade or disappointing?
you should have a suit case that you can put in the boot to get a size like to like other cars
Enjoyed the review. When you consider the discounted prices that buyers will actually pay for this car, it’s good value.
3 seats in the rear and 1 usb port....brilliant design for a family friendly suv👏👏 vauxhall
It’s sister Citroen c5 aircross is a big culprit too
If u had choice between this qashqai or kia which wd u buy 🤔 anyone give me a answer 😅
Are there blindspot sensors? When you put the car in reverse do the wing mirrors tilt? Is there a leather interior heated seat and heated windscreen option?
Yep all of those things are included, there’s an orange light the lights up in the mirrors when a car is in the blind spot
Yes, all of those on the a Ultimate model.
Lovely car
I’m getting one on May 5th, it’s being manufactured at the moment.

I reckon they'd sell more in the UK if they dropped Vx altogether and went with Opel.
I don't believe so. Personally anyway, I'd much rather be driving a Vauxhall brand than Opel.
@@reeceCC I agree. The Opel brand has no appeal in the UK.

Dudes body still growing into his head .just joking. My heads big to. 😂, I agree, it does look slightly cheap inside. Stil a cool looking car tho
Grandland and better should not be used in the same sentence.
Poor interior quality probably will not hold it's value because it is a Vauxhall. 32,000 for that tin box no thank you.
