Not so sure whether all the VAG SUVs are for techy feel and driving fun :D but i got it, this car is just so average, and lots of people are actually wanting something just like that.

Mine is a 2019. Love it. Its got close to 100k miles now... and its the 1.2.. ... ya... lets see how it holds up. So far so good. Frequent 500 mile day and so far so good. A few engine warning lights. Dealer has been great on that. No fuss. Still, would have been beter of with an astra tourer. Lower fuel consumption and more cargo space

I actually quite like this (checks name) Vauxhall Grandad, even though it's a tad dull, it looks like a fairly quiet and comfortable thing.

I quite like the look of the new facelift. My local dealer has put me off Vauxhall for life,

My mate had just got one and loves the fact that it is a quiet fuss free bus. He previously used to drive a Scirocco and a Civic Type R, but he prefers potting about in his Grandland.

Great review Mark.. think you've finally hit that balance of interesting and informative. I actually like the new Grandlad, shame Vauxhall's image isn't a bit better (and this is coming from someone that's ordered a new Dacia)

I test drove the newer Peugeot 2008 as I'm due a new lease and how you describe this car's drive is exactly how I tried to explain it. Everything is so light. I'm used to driving one handed but the steering wheel just doesn't allow it, there's not enough control as it flies away. I ended up stamping on the pedals as they don't even feel like they're there. When I got out after parking, I felt like I was floating. Even the doors are so much lighter than mine. It's nippy, though.

I had one of the smaller ones for a few months and while it was very well equipped it felt like it sucked any joy out of driving.... almost like they reviewed every aspect of the car to make sure nothing gave any hint of pleasure while at the same time giving no specific offence either. Quite a party trick that!

Great job at making an entertaining review of a boring car. Plus stellar (Stellantis?) work in not saying "these instruments are designed for old people".

It may be. Put a fat wife and anoying brats in the back and you will love it. Especialy in auto guise. Trust me. I know.

Same question as I asked you before being the same height, did you have any trouble getting behind the wheel as far as legs and pedals go?🤣

These are a 3008 without all the good stuff. Very basic not comfortable and the result of a cost cutting exercise gone too far. I had a 3008 for five years and the difference shocked me.
Take the boot for example, the moveable boot floor is made of thick cardboard that once you use it won’t stay in the raised position because it has no structural strength.
No power outlet with in the boot.
You can’t open the power tailgate from inside the car because it saved a few euros not to have the internal tailgate release button as the 3008 does.
The dash is ridiculous as I agree there is too much black on view.
The centre console is much lower than the 3008 for some reason and the auto stubby gear lever removed for buttons that are so low you have to lean over to press when you can see which one to press. Non of the left hand out and just flick the lever without looking to select drive/reverse or park.
The switches for heated rear screen are also too low for ease of use.
I got one without seeing one at all due to no stock because of Covid.
The centre console has been so small you can’t store anything of any size unlike, the 3008 you could store multiple bottles of water and other things in.
Seeing as it’s supposed to be a 3008 equivalent it really isn’t. And, the Ultimate is about as well specced up as the base 3008 model.
I was so impressed it lasted for 2 months before I terminated the lease as I just couldn’t cope with the top model being so poor and driver unfriendly.
So, I got a Renault Austral middle spec not, top spec.
It has all the toys and power outlets and an internal boot release plus, it’s comfortable, and I switched to a petrol/hybrid that returns almost 60 mpg which, neither the 3008 or Grandland, both diesel auto never got near to.

I’d take one if the offer was right. Hate beige headlinings though. Does anyone actually prefer them? 🤮

driver drowsiness alert..... in a Vauxhall Grandland. I'm guessing it goes off the moment you sit in it

I had the Grandland x 2018 1.2 turbo, swapped over to the Grandland 2022 1.2 turbo and I'm gutted. I've lost about 12 things from my old car. This "newer" model is a cheap "fake" of the older model. I HATE it!

What kind of occasion do you want? It’s for lugging a small family to and from school and sports clubs!
