This is really helpful. Could you do the same for NAGA gi rules? Lots of confusion about straight ankle locks being permitted but no twisting etc. Thanks!
1. And there could be pin only wrestling, or KO only boxing. But not everyone is into watching a 45 min match between 2 guys who can't sub each other. And if you want to bring up "EBI rules" - those OT rules are even more in depth then the IBJJF rules. 2. A lot of people competing want to test their BJJ in a competition setting - yet have jobs they need to go back to. Having everyone rip each others knee's apart and disregarding all rules is dangerous. There's tournaments you can go to do that, but there should also be ones with safe rules in place. There's tournaments where slams are legal - doesn't mean 54 year old hobbyists should have to compete in an environment where they're slamming each other unconscious to get out of submissions. 3. Don't compete in these types of tournaments - no one is forcing you too.
Your first statement that 'any takedown where you take your opponent flat to their back should immediately score you two points' is incorrect. There are no flash takedowns, and all actions and positions must be held for three seconds to score. Your subsequent comments about defending a spawl and moving to the back is not a takedown score either.
All these rules pretty much make me unstoppable since I practically can't do any submissions without getting banned from the damn tournament so I can just sweep guys and sit on top of them.
If my single or double leg take down is too fast will I get DQed for slamming? It has to be done fast enough that I don't get sprawled on. But shooting in that fast will create a hard land on the mat. I'm new and only 4 classes in...
@Bill yeah I wrestled growing up. My shooting take downs will always be hard hitting and slamming. But I just hope bc it's a "takedown" I'll be ok in the judges eyes. If I try not to slam lol I'll be moving too slow and get tied in a pretzel. I might as well yell out "ok bud sprawl out NOW"
@@jellybean8698 Just a grumble about the lack of consistency, some referees seem to believe that a takedown that slams the opponent into the ground, blows the air out of their lungs and pretty much ends them before the grappling even begins deserve points for control and are not a slam, others in the same competition believe any takedown they can hear a 'thud' is a slam.
Lmao and I thought wrestling had some crazy rules. Screw this I'll stick to training no gi and not competing. Maybe submission grappling but forget this. Plus everything I love is illegal.
That was very clear demonstrating and like I ate at that information. Thank you so much.

Great breakdowns and explanations, thank you
So if someone has a loose triangle just push them out of bounds?
Or there could just be submissions only...
seriously...way too many rules. Everyone is just adapting their game for these points instead of getting a submission which is the whole idea.

Then that sucks to be them don’t compete

so what is legel for the reaping the leg portion leg cross or uncross
I love that Minnesota accent.
Thanks for making this!! Oss🤙🏻
Thanks brother
Is reaping the knee illegal both ways? If you didn't cross his body but crossed his leg in the other direction, attacking the knee, is that legal?
Zero points for body triangle? Who wrote these rules?
thank you. very helpful
Thank you!
super helpful. thanks!

Is the hip throw legal? Or is it considered a slam?
Ive seen some really legit footsweeps dq players because the opponent landed too hard.
did you guys steal the Aussie Holden car logo for your academy - funny stuff
Seems 6:00 is also explicitly wrong. See: ua-cam.com/video/pKa7jTTNf-c/v-deo.html

6:28 da fuck is this??!!
So, no slams are allowed?
Never
@@jellybean8698 Except for takedowns which somehow don't count.
psychedashell what do you mean except for takedowns?

psychedashell if you pick them up and dump them in a take down then it’s not considered a slam, you didn’t do your punctuation right by the way.
Well that's simple then lol
Good. Not complete.
