Pity the quick bits weren't cued properly first or second time around, but Warren coaxes some interesting stuff out of his guitar here. Would be nice if Terry went back to the Octoplus kit rather than the industrial/tinsel effect he's been using for the last 20+ years. And to get a bit trainspottery, Patrick has completely changed his right hand position since '77. Used be be way back near the bridge, now he's on the neck. Wasn't expecting that.
Rest assured...Zappa's music will live on, in the capable hands of the musicians with the pedigrees to play it. I do not advocate making it a career, but it's wonderful to know, every once in a while , this (and others), will pop up occasionally to let us listen to Frank's arrangements with the proper attitude, that seems missing in so many other bands attempts. Great performances guys...I loved it!
What is the point of such a monstrous drum kit? A 3 piece with some trash can lids would have sufficed. I would be embarrassed to make my roadie set this up. It took a day and a half! For what?!
This old Zappater loved it! But then, I was working backstage when Bozzio was with him. The New Year's eve shows @ Pauley Pavillion, if any one remembers. Yah, Dale was there, and ALL the attention was on them. Don't know where Frank was; prolly wearing that sly, but proud smile, thinking, I did that😉
Guitar and bass just need a UHaul. The 2 tractor trailers are for Terry's kit. Tooooo big. Frank would never have taken a kit that size on the road with him.

Totally agree. That kit with the "tuned" toms and trash can cymbals do not work with music. Listen to him with UK reunion - horrible. Rotot toms were the best.@@seanmurphy26

I'm a Zappateer from way back. This was too noisy. Not even O'Hearn could save this ship from sinking, and his bass playing is always the best.
