    I "had to" read this in high school. I chose to come back and listen again now at age 25. Pay attention kids, there's a reason we make you read this (and 1984, Brave New World, Lord of the Flies, etc.)

      I'm British, I was born in 81' this wasn't in our curriculum but it was in my parents.... No wonder we know nothing about politics 😔 matrix took it out

    I'm learning English, and this is literally the first book I read. Enjoyed getting here to listen to every chapter as soon as I finished it.

    I think you really encapsulated each character into your different voices. They weren’t the greatest impressions of all time, but the effort really helped and made the audiobook better

    This was not requiring reading in high school or college, but it should have been! I would have appreciated this way more than Beowolf! I just finished 1984, too. Fantastic!

      @@sophiesleeps12 you're right, but think of it this way. If someone just read the book and they simply want to share their opinion or talk a little more about the book. What better place than the same UA-cam video they used to read it? As the other person said, it's usually better not to go to the comments on any show or audiobook before you read it.

      Nice little symbolism of how the state eventually gives zero fuck about you when you no longer make a profit. Instead of healing the horse it was rather sold to slaughter for one last extra dip of cash. I know this novel was anti-communism, but it could also be translated into anti-business as well.

    I find a contradiction in Old Majors speech that no animal should kill another animal. Is he not aware of predators like wolves or lions and their need to eat?

    It's almost like all the propaganda and lies in the book really had you questioning, as the reader/listener, what was really the truth? Nothing could be trusted, and a sense of paranoia gripped me. Living under a regime like this would be living hell.

      I gave each character a different voice to help distinguish their speech from other characters/narration.

    Thank god. This guy's voice is much more tolerable and free of speech impediments. In the first couple audiobooks that come up in the search, the guy can't pronounce his L's and it was making me want to become a speech teacher or something. L...tip of tongue. Roof of mouth 😆
