I've added these because the Wilcox Family Archives versions have been taken down by some random publishing company. It is unfortunate but that is the world we live in. The rest of the books will be posted soon! I already have them all, just need to edit and upload.

I'm ancient enough that I heard the first radio adaptation broadcast in 1978. I still have that on cassette tape! Utterly brilliant writing. I also still have my typewritten programme from the stage play at the Rainbow. That was beyond mad, still pretty much dress rehearsal, but plenty of opportunities for hilarious audience participation. My only regret was that after the show I didn't have the budget to buy a circuit board badge that occasionally flashed 42.

None of the parishioners believe any of it's real but that doesn't stop them enjoying themselves. Also, they don't require you go knocking on anyone's door and annoying the occupants at inopportune moments in service of promulgating their nonsense.

I never saw it in any of the 4 secondary schools I went to, but that's because it extolled the fun of getting drunk and made references to sex. England in the 80's. Or maybe that was the official reason and it was really because if a copy has appeared someone would have promptly nicked it. Also, school libraries did focus on the sort of books school wanted you to read, the fun books they knew you'd read anyway. Things have changed,I know. But reading it FOR school??? Just wrong..And who the hell is too lazy to read a book like this for homework 🤦

@BurnDoubt Adam's was an atheist because he was rational and a materialist who understood the concepts of critical thinking and reality. He isn't sitting next to any god because gods are a man-made fiction, and he's dead, BUT he will be remembered for centuries to come, at the very least. His literature satirizes socioeconomics (capitalism) and woowoo mystical thinking almost perfectly.

It’s like there is some big yellow blob, fuzzy in my vision in the early morning light outside my focus, just menacingly hanging there, almost mockingly so.
Just waiting for some sort of legal eagle to land on my porch and fortell the future of the next few minutes…
    Oh my,
I must bid farwell, as that eagle will eat my cat.
