I hated lord of flies but loved 1984. Never read animal farm. 1984 is what’s happening today! George Orwell is psychic!
you’re a life saver. i have a test on this tomorrow and I haven’t even read it yet 😭
I hate Napoleon and I am not sorry about it
The "e" in Sartre is not silent, you dimwitted pretender!
Who’s here because of summer reading?
The wealthy can never have enough. Considering the wealth of many countries why is there children starving and living in deplorable conditions. I tire of this materialistic society where the wealthy are admired and put on pedestals. This is only how i feel and i know others will disagree and thats their right.
Thank you
This was not requiring reading in high school or college, but it should have been! I would have appreciated this way more than Beowolf! I just finished 1984, too. Fantastic!
Poor Boxer 😔
I am @1:54:17 the problem is... They never left the farm, same as we never leave the matrix 😔 I'm British, I was born in 81' this wasn't in our curriculum but it was in my parents.... No wonder we know nothing about politics 😔 matrix took it out 😔 we can never beat the elites... This has gone on for too long 😔
Woah bro

Hello from Peterson Academy ^_^
The Anatomy of Human Destructiveness
Thank you
here for my summer reading assignment , this was really helpful
"A clump of cells eventually becomes a person. Should we then classify the clump of cells a 'person?' Well, an acorn eventually grows into an oak tree. Would you then say they are one and the same? That an acorn _is_ an oak tree? Of course not. Therefore, it is illogical to claim that a clump of cells _is_ a person simply because it may eventually become one."
I'd never heard this before! I had to go back and listen to the last sentence twice to make sure I heard it correctly! The author thinks like I do, but developed her arguments more thoroughly. To me, this is a phenomenal and indesputable justification for pro-choice legislation.
Im doing this for my english journal and to be honest its kinda overwhelming
yeah
Thank you so much for reading this, I had to for summer reading. JUSTICE FOR BOXER

Who else is here for a school? but u forgot the packet of questions so in the end y’know ur going to fail
Benjamin is a fucking realist
I hate this book but he makes me like it a little bit
The pigs in this book made me so mad when i read 📚 this
Am I the only person who’s here not for a class but purely out of genuine curiosity and existential dread?
Philosophy was invented to confuse women while you seduce them. Ugly little googly eyed Sarte was a poon hound gentlemen.
Boxer😭
The absolute truth exists in the immediate sense of oneself
the fact that George Orwell predicted soviet union dawnfall
I "had to" read this in high school. I chose to come back and listen again now at age 25. Pay attention kids, there's a reason we make you read this (and 1984, Brave New World, Lord of the Flies, etc.)
Same and yes
I'm British, I was born in 81' this wasn't in our curriculum but it was in my parents.... No wonder we know nothing about politics 😔 matrix took it out
20:50 He alone chooses.
Even existentialist philosophers to some degree wanted to be people-pleasers and to sell their philosophy to the public, perhaps to validate their own rightness and their names. But the real core meaning of existentialism is that "nothing really matters" in a world of tragedy and absurdity. It is "reaching" to try to put a positive spin on that. There is a certain freedom in realizing that you have no real obligations nor prohibitions upon you, in a meaningless world, beyond the practical results of your decisions. But that freedom is a consolation prize, not a gift. We can still be humanist in the sense of trying to console others in the tragic absurdity, yet still the underlying theme of human life is pain in a universe that does not share any human sense of meaning. Existentialism has nothing to offer humanity but clear-eyed truth. Few people will really want that.
Bruh I knew it as soon as those buckets of milk disappeared. Not my comrade 😤

Your sound is so cool. 🎉

Bro changed my idea of pigs. 😢😅
You have such a pleasant voice to listen to! This was brilliant, thank you :] Edit: wording
Thanks for saving me $57 dollars for the opportunity to read it
Squealer is the epitome of gaslighting
My question would be if morally you are put in a situation to where you would hurt the same amount of people equally then how do you make a distinguishment towards a decision
When you walk by an Earthworm drowning in a puddle without helping it you have to really think about where you stand with regards to a "Good Moral Foundation" i guess.
you a real g for this one. read the book already but i have to re-read it for my class and i'd rather die then re-read any book ever
Your voice is so pretty and nice to listen to, that I’m gonna check out your other vids. I’ve never read philosophy before, or much nonfic at all, but I’ll give it a shot
Never has a book left me with such an existential dread.
Anyone else doing this for an essay 😢
Boxer’s sayings were annoying “ N is always right.”
Your consideration to read slowly is brilliant, simply brilliant. It transformed this text for me. Thank you!
Where was this when I had to read the book in high school??
Ah The Camp of the Saints…
