    This is a great pattern! As a plus sized gal with a large back (48C bra) I chained 16+1 for the cups and did 22 rows of sc to cover the entire side boob.

    Hey guys! I love using this cup pattern, but if you wanna avoid the gaps near the bottom, single crochet on the BACK BUMP for your first chain instead of the front loops :) That's the only tweak I make, and it avoids the gaps

    If the sizes aren't working for you, I recommend measuring from the base of your boob to the middle of the nipple and chain until it reaches that length. I struggled with this for a while and this worked great!

    As Kelsie recommended, using colored markers is helpful. I used a colored marker in my first stitch at the base, another marker in my last stitch of the row on the other side of the base and another marker in the middle stitch of the three at the arch made the base straight and the arch lined up. So I have three markers in my cup at all times. I also counted from one end of the base all the way around to the other side to make sure I was increasing two stitches each time I went around. Great suggestion because it took me a few tries!

    I’m a rather seasoned crocheter, and even I had a bit of a confusing time trying to follow from the starting rows. I think it would really help if you say how many sc stitches you have per row. It just helps with overall continuity, especially if this is a tutorial. The sped up time laps are also not beginner friendly. This is a pretty good tutorial overall, but only if you’ve been crocheting previously.

    • @PassioKnitKelsie
      @PassioKnitKelsie  3 роки тому +6

      Yeah it’s not a tutorial for beginners. If it were I would have taught about yarn and hooks and in depth descriptions of how to do the chains and stitches and increases but is implied that you should already know all these things.

    • @PassioKnitKelsie
      @PassioKnitKelsie  4 роки тому +24

    Hi there! Thanks for these tutorials, they are super helpful! Just finished 1 cup after many redo's as my first project and after that I would like to make the Lily top. As I was starting to watch the lily top tutorial I've come across a problem. The description in this video says chain 17 for a large and SC 16 rows. However, for a Lily top you're supposed to chain 16, and do 14 SC'S and one DC (and finish with 1 row SC). Is it a problem I started my cup as a 17 chain? Also, could I go a little bigger without adjusting the 17 chain? Because I feel like the cup would otherwise be a little too small for me, and if so, would you recommend going for even numbers on the single crochet or is it okay to go in odd numbers? Sorry for the many questions. I'm really new to this and I've spent 8h to complete the first cup. 😂

    • @PassioKnitKelsie

    Hi! your tutorial is honestly the one I've been able to best follow, I just have a question! For the second row, where we crochet on the bottom of the starting chain, do we sc into the chain we skipped from the first row, when we sc'd into the 2nd chain from the hook, or stop at the stitch before that one chain? sorry if that didn't make any sense 😅 that's just the one thing I'm unsure with!

      Hello hello,
      I haven't found any measurements yet but going by her +2 increments for each cup size with A being 10 chains to start, I would say H is 24 chains, maybe? I'm currently making a J cup with that logic, but you may need to adjust. as for rows, I'm going to work the same number of rows as I have for chains made at the start so 24 chains would be 24 rows. The beauty of starting off with more rows is that if it seems too big you can always rip out a few rows and see if you like that sizing more.
      A little further down in the comments Kelsie mentions measuring from the base of the breast to the middle of the breast going up the middle to get your base chain length, and just trying to work as many rows as you need to fit the width.
      Wishing you the best of luck! Hopefully you won't have to test too much.

      Hey there! I would definitely utilize stitch markers at the corners to make sure you are getting the right number of stitches each time you do a row, or you can count stitches :)

    Is there a way to modify this so it works for flat chests? I want to make a top for my friend but I can't figure out how to make the cups curve less

      Maybe just make flat triangles instead of this specific cup

    Hi Kelsie, I followed your tuto but I wonder why my bra cup is not streight but triangle at the bottom....🤔 do you have any idea? Thanks for your help!

      Most likely you’re skipping stitches somewhere! When you’re doing your rows it would help to count the stitches and make sure that you have 2 more each row
