Only including up to an XL is NOT size inclusivity. The average size of an American woman is a 16(2X), the average American would be excluded from this. If plus sizes ( above an XL) do not call it size inclusivity because it’s not.
@@mayaoppong8847 if you look at the description it shows the size and corresponding chain/row counts. For each size up it adds two extra rows and two extra chains. So for 2X you would need 2 more rows and 2 more chains than the XL and so on and so forth for 3X, 4X, ect. Just because she didn't not spell it out for you does not mean you cannot use common sense to figure out how many extra rows/chains you will need for your own size.
@@desertskycacti ah yes ease only for thin people and extra hoops to jump through fit fat folks, especially in this description she doesn’t provide what bra sizes correspond to the rest of the sizes adding additional work for any plus size crocheter making this top. (size charts are not universal).
Can I just say that the cup/shirt tutorials are some of the best beginner crochet videos? I’ve come across many “beginner” tutorials where the creator moves fast, doesn’t clearly explain what they’re doing, and even has sloppy camera work(moving out of frame constantly so you can’t see what they’re doing smh). I remember when I made a shirt as an absolute beginner, and even with me being slightly confused at times as I was getting used to crochet, I was still able to make quality work. Now as someone who knows her stuff, I can easily make perfect cups/shirts thanks to these videos.
made this today and i'm obsessed!! :)) made the medium and i love it! if you're thinking of making this & you're a wider-ribbed girl who wants coverage at the back - i chained 15 for the sides/backs and wish i had done 25 for a more all-around ruffle !! might add it on later but for now i can't take the finished product off!
Just have a question. Did you add the coverage on the sides of the cups? Or when she did the 10 chain for the ruffles? Cause I loooove this top but don’t want my back to be exposed as much :/ please reply 🙏🏼😭
@@marilynramos9848 I would suggest doing it on the chain. If you make the chain longer, it’ll make it cover more of your back. I personally did 40 chains on each side.
Thank you Kelsie for the tutorial!! It was very easy to follow.☀️🥰 I just finished my top. I made it size XL, did 20 chains on each side and 8 rows of ruffles and I needed 230 grams (approx. 8 oz) of yarn, in case anyone is wondering! 🤍

i made this and it was my first clothing crochet project and it turned out SO nicely, i love thqt theres some flexibility with sizing etc, i made a wee tie in the front to feel a wee bit more supported and i absolutely love it, such a great video to learn from 🥰🥰🥰
I just wanna thank you for putting so much effort and thought into your craft and in your videos. I love how easy you are to follow and how you show EVERYTHING your using. Thank you for being an amazing teacher for crochet! ❤
Yes, I’ve got two cups sewn together and in the midst of my first neck strap. It’s adorable and I’m scared it’ll be to big as it’s so stretchy, this cotton. We shall see and go from there. It’s so fun having it going so thank you.
I’ve been crocheting little bunnies and frogs forever, and today I wanted to make a pretty black top for a bikini-style swimsuit. Why? No clue, purely bored on my spring break. IT TURNED OUT GORGEOUS!! I LOVEEEEE IT! The black yarn I used just makes it look so slick, thank you!!
Thank you so much!! I just finished making this and I love it!! This was so easy to follow along with and thank you for including the other sizes aswell! I really appreciate it
Love this tutorial. I just bought the pattern from Ur Etsy. So excited to make this and I like that it will cover the part of my body I'm insecure about
Kelsie, this to turned out so cute🥰 I’m in the process of making my daughter one or more using 24/7 Cotton. Thanks for inspiration.. Happy crocheting 🧶 🌺
Me a size 46DDD 🙃 this will hopefully be my first wearable. While you don't have my size written Im hoping I can wing it 😂 (and obviously no hate either, having anything past a medium is extremely inclusive for crochet patterns)
I made this top! Its so cute. Honestly its really cute and the instructions are easy. I used a 4 weight yarn red heart, and a 5.5 mm hook. I would recommend a bigger cup for bigger breasts obvi, but I am a size medium and the sizing proportions where a little off. But I should have put the cups up to my chest first 😂. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m making one now and making a medium as well. Definitely having to add more than 14 rows for some extra coverage. I held it up for a test and my nips were out lol
Thanks for pointing that out, I am making one extra small, and it is ridiculously small 😅 it just covers the nipples, also made another small for me and it was the same, I had to change the pattern a bit, but it is still a great tutorial.
Imma just add this note here. I understand you used different yarn so you could see the stitches. But I was hoping for the baby blanket yarn so the sizing would be accurate. With this yarn the sizing is off. So if anyones using the bernat yarn , for XS I did 8 stitches instead of the 10 and that's a better fit for me personally. Idk it's just off putting clicking on a tutorial and then a completely different yarn being used. Either way I'll figure it out lol
Do you have a video showing how you weave your ends? I'm interested in your method, it looks very secure and I tend to feel insecure about mine coming out later even though they are weaved in like how everyone else shows.
Do you think single crochet are better for cups than doing hdc ? My cups always look pointy when I do hdc (I’m sure it could be my tension as well, I’m kind of tight) so I was curious on your opinion if you’ve made tops with HDC or not :)
My top is too loose with what you suggested for the tie in the back in the video. Is there a way to make it tighter. Also I made suggested size cups for my bra size and they are loose in the middle
So cute! I made one with the velvet yarn and loved how it turned out! I was curious since you used the velvet yarn as well as the cotton - did that create a noticeable size difference? Or were the amount of stitches the same without much difference in size? Thank you!!
Absolute beginner here! I haven't finished watching the video yet but I want to ask if it's possible to use a larger cup size like Large with a smaller underbust like Small? I'm honestly built different 💀💀
Thank you for including the stitch count for the other sizes as well! The size inclusivity is very appreciated! 🥰

This comment is cute. You remind me of my Nonnie. 🥲
Currently making this for my sister for Christmas, first top I've made and the pattern is so easy to understand and the top so far is super pretty!

Imma just add this note here. I understand you used different yarn so you could see the stitches. But I was hoping for the baby blanket yarn so the sizing would be accurate. To connect the back, could you make a 'connection' panel of just a few rows so the back isnt so open? or would that mess up the ruffles in the front?
Are the ruffles made from double crochets a preference or does it only work with that stitch?
