Some other useful tips: - Soil Sampler is really good for figuring out when a tree is fully mature and ready to harvest. It's also useful if you want to fogire out what a given block is made out of in case you run into something interesting in the world map that you want to copy. - Oaks are hard to check with the Soil Sampler when they are mature, but you can put them on one dirt piles sticking up so you have easier access to the soil below to check. - If you have a buddy operating a skid or an excavator and want to help them dig faster, you can empty their inventory through a nearby truck or stockpile. It can really speed things along! - If you put your Skid one tile into the ground and position your arm just right around the top of the ground you want to excavate, the arm will skip across it and let you dig faster than if you'd move your arm into it (your Skid won't slow down as much since it's skipping over terrain rather than hitting it). Really useful for road excavation when you're digging up flattened dirt and all that.
Yes, you can. The server I play on found it a bit OP though, and it made contracts for the type of agricultural community we wanted problematic, but on most servers, most people do it. What we do allow though are massive green house structures over farms to help protect the land from invasive weeds. :)
You actually don't need the real estate desk to make new properties. If you hover over any of your properties while in the map, click on the name of the property on the bottom of the screen. From there, click edit and just go wherever you want and place new claims. They don't need to be connected to the original claim.
True, but it assumes a player has an understanding that they won't be editing that claim but creating a new one elsewhere, and also prompts that you are splitting a claim, and all that can be confusing as to what the result will be for a new player - so I navigated them to the least confusing approaches.
There's A LOT to potentially say about it!! But overall, I like it. Anything that brings a little challenge and strategy into the game, I welcome. And it provides a use for the various cold-storages available in the game. So much more to say, but I think it's a good thing. I've heard some folks not liking it, but I can't help but feel it's because we are creatures of habit, and once we get used to things being a certain way, and playing a game with a specific set of mechanics, anything that upsets that is taken negatively.
Alt click is actually a set amount of calories...I think 10k? If you ever have a 9999 queue you might use alt click two or three times without having to eat
