    I guess another aspect worth mentioning for people wanting to buy the game is that it plays very differently in single and multiplayer, or even in a small server vs big server. Digging a small mine to support your production needs feels nothing like the industrial excavation needed to supply 200 people on a big server :D.

    This is one of those games either you don't hook on, or you get in and 4000+ hours are lost on this. There is no middle ground XD!

      You're kind of right! Either a big addiction factor, or little interest at all.

    I can certainly see why alligators and wolves would take away calories. Running away burns LOTS of calories! Like running away from killer rabbits.

      You can play solo. Fundamentally it consist of downloading the server-side of ECO, and playing from there. There are big parts of the gameplay you'll miss solo though. For instance there's no economy aspect or reason to produce goods except for your our building purposes, and there's no law or government system gameplay (You can make laws in solo, but they are only laws to govern yourself, so you can...but not much point in make laws).
      To make it easier, to have a more solo experience, I'll suggest finding a low population server, joining it, and just playing in some remote part of the world - it's practically like being solo, but avoids all the server-side setup and hassles - only downside is that the hosted server you join could stop the server at any time or just manage it poorly so it not available when you want. I actually did this when I first started just to get a feel for the game - joined a random low population server for a few weeks.

    First time I heard the word 'Civilization' while there's nothing other than players to populate the world. Especially when the servers die out or the end-game has already been reached. The civilization aspect is completely dependent of whether you play with others or not. Without them you're actually creating a lot of non-pupulated structures. However, playing with other players allows them to do the same, which makes it obsolete for others to build the same. So I really never got the idea of 'Creating a civilization' in this game.

    What you think about mobile shops, do they ruin the transport guys jobs?

    • @Oearth
      @Oearth  Рік тому +1

      I don't think so, and I'm speaking on this without having experienced life with the shop cart, but it could even provide more points of distribution for transportation. Good Question!

    • @davidflint9883
      @davidflint9883 Рік тому +1

      I don't have much experience, but I would think mobile shops a good way for transport people to test the viability of areas to place more permanent shops. If used by non-transport people, it just gives a more convenient location for transporters to buy/sell

    This still does not help explain what the game IS at its core. what is the main gameplay loop?
    How does one build a bridge?
    how do you get the materials?
    how do you mine?
    does the game have automation?
    does the automation include moving or breaking blocks?
    I need a game that gives a good sense of progress. but It needs to not have any grind or time wasting functions. crafting should be very low cost but not free. Automation should allow the player to fail quickly and rebuild just as fast. Not a single game has all those features. but a dozen games have at least one.

    The downfall is always people. They are power hungry and want to control everything. Griefers too, and the logs are shit.

    This game looks like an amazing game. I would love to play this. but there is just no survival... how silly. There is no eating food to survive, or hydration to survive, or a threat of being attacked/killed by animals.
    If they make this game have some actual survival mechanics I'd buy it in an instant and I know I would love it. This would probably be my favorite game. That's so unfortunate that the devs made such a great open world game and there's no survival at all. that is so stupid. if you could like hunt animals and stuff that'd be so cool.
    playing this and surviving while on some shrooms or on a microdose of meth would probably be really fun. game has so much potential, but it is just missing survival.

    • @Oearth
      @Oearth  Рік тому +2

      I think a higher consequence from an animal attack would be nice, or a more "personal environmental hazard consequence" would be good. There is the meteor that does world wide destruction, but something like a tornado that can wreck stockpiles and things not in an enclosed "room", or something that makes "building better" have a benefit (beyond the current skill point accumulation bonus) would add some good flavor. So yes...I agree...some sort of personal survival aspect against a hazard that has consequences if ignored would be nice.
      As an aside, you can hunt the animals, but it's only for food, skins, and taxidermy - they run and need to be chased as soon as attacked.

      Games are fun without drugs; consider substance abuse counseling!
      I dislike survival aspects in games and am thankful it isn't required but I do think there should be an option for people that want it on servers. Still in Early Access tho and there are plans
