Unfortunatelly did not work even after extending the number of files with this tutorial. The file I deleted some days ago and then also removed it from the bin was not found.
I figured it out if you haven’t done it yet all you need to do is change the setting “Allow accessories to connect” from “Ask for New accessories” to “Always”
I configured the system extension successfully, but I'm not seeing any additional recoverable data than without it. None of the typical residual graphics from web surfing etc that I would see with Mac OS versions before Sonoma. Maybe it's because of the advanced garbage collection in the Mac OS - which is a good thing. Thoughts?
Will this not work on free version? I just need to see what i have deleted cause i don’t remember if i can replace it or not. I did all the things you said but nothing more than cache files shows up in the deleted file during the scan. Any solutions to this?
Unfortunately I tried this and got an error message from Apple “settings cannot be changed. In order to change security settings please power off your Mac and then hold the power button to start up in Mac OS recovery
hi I tell u my problem, well actually I had a folder called "h" and by mistake I replaced it with another one with the same name. now, I installed disk drill trying to figure if I can get the first directory named h cuz I had files in it that I need, if you can help me I'd be glad for sure and thankful! thanks in advance !
@@cleverfiles I do have two questions. see i am not a computer dude that knows more than the average but would i get in trouble with apple or whoever for unlocking these things? Just cuz i see a lot of things that say no permission and things like that. and do i have to lock these things back up after i recover what i needed?
Would this work on a SSD MacBook M1, or, is there a system program that deletes things space in the background, rendering your program ineffective for these hard drive types?@@cleverfiles
This did not work for my 2023 MacBook Pro M2 on Sonoma. Then I go to Startup Security Utility, I get a message "Security settings cannot be changed. In order to change security settings, please power off your Mac and then hold the power button to start macOS Recovery" which is exactly what I did to begin with. I even powered on, disabled Firevault and tried again, no dice. Please let me know how to proceed here.

I need to recover a specific file I just deleted. Is there an option to search recently deleted in trash. The file organization on this is very overwhelming.
Try to filter the results by file type, date and size and then preview each file by clicking the “eye” icon next to the name to see if it is the file you need. Please contact us at help@cleverfiles.com for further assistance.
This app is great, but does free use of it allow the ability to recover all files, or should I upgrade to a paid version of this application to allow full access to deleted files?
We offer a free recovery of up to 500 MB of your data if you use Disk Drill for Windows. Unfortunately, this option is not available for Mac users at this time. We do guarantee the recovery of the files you can fully preview in the free version.
Great tutorial, it was easy to follow and allowed me to do what I needed

Will this help Disk Drill find a word document that I never saved?
Each recovery case is unique. Scan your drive with Disk Drill to see what can be recovered.
Is it safe?
Yes, it is completely safe.

I'm having some OS issues right after installing this, missing wallappers and such, how does one remove this extention tho?
ok, issues seem to went away on next restart
what about the m3 Macs?
This should work for M3 Macs too.
What about Mac OS Monterey ?
This should also apply for macOS Monterey.
Does it not search deleted items, until you do this ?
This depends on your system. Sometimes internal drives require extra steps.
