How I wish every removal was this easy, but if they were, there would not bee a singe feral bee hive left in the world. Still, it was a great removal and the bees are doing great here at the abbey. Thanks for watching. God's peace to all. Mr. Ed
If there was ever a removal I was jealous of ....you just posted it!!! That was beeutiful
They just don't get any easier. Miss you buddy. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
😂😂😂 I couldn't have said it better 👏
WOW...I AM JUST A DAY LATE Thanks Jeff and your friend

Glad to have you join us no matter when it happens. Thanks for watching. God's peace Steve.

The 628 Dirt Rooster where hobby beekeeping is a way of life!! You know that guy? Actually through Randy is how I came across your antics! Great content! Wonderful property around the Abbey there too! -Bob...
Randy and I go back about 8 years now, and our friendship is very dear to me. Thanks for coming over from the dark side, it's a great joy for me that you have done so. Looking forward to hearing from you again on more of my be wrangling adventures and remember, I post a new one every Friday. Until then, God's peace Bob.
Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff Good morning Mr. Ed! I never knew Randy's last name until reading this post: Randy Dark Side! I think what has really captured my bee interest comes from following Ian, Canadian Beekeeper's Blog. Up in these parts it seems as though the bees have taken a detour, or moved away from these parts. Hope you keep the videos coming, and a shout out to Randy Dark Side! -Bob...
Your joy brought me joy watching this.
Thank you so very much for your gift, that is very thoughtful and of kind of you to give it, and I'm thankful for it. Along with sharing the experience of doing the removal with my audience, I love sharing the fun I have doing it, and I'm happy to hear that by watching the video it brought you joy. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Elise.
Mr. Ed
Can just imagine these Ladies busy collecting, meeting each other... So where's your Hive? Oh, we're in a Duck Box. Aaaww, that's cute. We're in a lovely Lion head water fountain. Nothing much, you know, but it's home... Later... So you know that Lizzie-Bee who was bragging about being in the Lion head water fountain? You'll never guess what happened! Erm, hold on to your wings, Brenda-Bee!
Poor Charlie! He missed the fasted bee removal in Mr. Ed history! This one was a pleasure to watch.❤
Everyone says that about Charlie, "poor Charlie." The man is truly loved. Thanks for watching. God's peace Nashia.
Mr. Ed
A new face, how nice👋😀 welcome Julio. God bless y’all & I’ll be watching for the next video🥰
Julio has been around for about a year and done 3 or 4 other videos with me, but since he is newly retired, he will bee joining us a bit more frequently. Thank you for your blessings and for watching. God's peace Paula.

Awesome Jobs, love it’s!!!👍👍👍👏🏽👏🏽❤
Hey Salli! Great hearing from you again, and I hope all is well with you and your boys. Thanks for checking back in. God's peace.

@@JeffHorchoff Mr. Ed same here!!! What about your other half, all is well with her? 🐝🐝🐝😇😇😇🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽💕
Whoa, the wasp shot!! Nice job, Julio! Sharp eye and fast hand.
As for you, Mr Ed, running around looking at noble lady's butts....tsk tsk!! 😁🤣🥰
It was an incredible shot, but it happened so quickly, I had to slow it down just in order to see the wasp. I don't know what it is about a queen's rear end, it just gets my attention. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

G'day Mr Ed always good to watch the easy jobs from time to time, no doubt God time Charlie would have appreciated an early lunch or brunch.God's peace.
Jose, Good Time Charlie is ready for lunch at anytime....even if he just had breakfast. Thank you for your blessings and for watching. God's peace.

And don’t forget about the dirt rooster. I might have heard he’s getting a complex cause nobody calls him. I enjoy watching both of you guys. I started with the dirt rooster and found Jeff s channel. Enjoyed the show. Nice nest removal
Thank you so much Willie for trusting the Rooster enough to take a chance on watching my channel, I guess I owe Randy another taco dinner for the referral. Looking forward to hearing from you again soon, and don't forget, I post a new video every Friday. Till the next one, God's peace brother.
Mr. Ed
1 hour. Does that count? Ha. Looks like the big swarm at your bee house won’t take long. Enjoyed the video. Thanks and God bless.
I just signed up for the Mississippi bee conference yesterday. I’ll see you then. I can’t wait.
Looking forward to meeting you Bill, God's peace brother.
Mr. Ed
Me too Jeff
I've been wondering for a while... why are you Mr. Ed if your name is Jeff. May God Bless you for saving his tiny creatures!
The name "Mr. Ed" was given to me the day I began working at the Post Office back in '82. Then, for the next 27 years while working at the PO, that is what everyone called me. When I started my UA-cam channel, because I loved the name so much, I decided to call myself that. Thank you so much for your blessings and for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
The Lion group has to be one of the most interesting comb builds I've ever seen - and I've seen them build stuff in an old cardboard box someone was using to "compost" things. I'm always amazed at how quickly swarms can build comb - so pretty. *And* you got bonus bees from the tree! Looks like a great day to be a beekeeper to me. Thanks for taking us along!
A real surprise for me as well, very unique place to build a hive. Thanks for watching.God's peace.

That chain of bees was fascinating.
It really is cool watching them cling to each other. Thanks for watching. God's peace brother.

This might have been easy ! But it was one of the coolest videos I have seen .Fountains are important for Birds and Bees in Wyoming!!!!!!
Now that you've seen a few of my videos, I hope you will check out a few more, I have almost 600 of them. Fountains and any water source are important to all creatures, and as concerned people, we should do our part to help God's creation flourish. Thanks for watching. God's peace Stanley.

You’re right!! Charlie is going to be so mad!!! Thanks y’all!!!
What a beautiful hive in the fountain. It can't be more than a few months old.
Did you film the duck box hive too? I hope you post the duck box removal next week 🐝🐝🥰🥰🤗🤗😘😘
Would you please post an update about the monster hive that went into the Layens? I'd love to know how that colony is doing after the move. 🐝🐝🥰🥰🤗🤗😘😘
God Bee with you, Mr. Ed and all of the lovely Bees 🐝🐝🥰🥰🤗🤗😘😘🐝🐝
I guess it was about 2 months old based on the hatched and capped brood that was in there. The duck box will be done in the fall, when the weather cools down a lot and we are in another nectar flow. Yes, I will post an update on the Layens but it will be a while yet. Thank you for your blessings and for watching. God's peace.

Beautiful bees. Nice comb.
The insect sounds n the background remind me of my grandparents farm n Tennessee!!
The cicadas certainly were noisy....but beautiful. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

I like the way you seem to always have a chomp on the comb you collect
I just can't help myself, I really want to taste what the bees have produced, and the comb looks so beautiful. That’s such a beautiful fountain. You sure hit the jackpot on this one. Nice and easy close to home.
That was quick. If Good Time Charlie was there he would have been disappointed since it was way to early for lunch😅.

@@JeffHorchoff, I hear that bees coming from a Wood Duck house aren't all that they are quacked up to bee... :-) Thanks again!
That was a neat one. That bee house pays off time and time again! There must be a big hollow bee tree somewhere in that vicinity for sure.
And I'm just the guy to scoop up some free bees. God's peace Tommy.
Mr. Ed
Two for one special? Amazing that they find such crazy spaces. It looks like when it rains, they have their own indoor pond. Great size swarm, they forgot to read the manual and get in the box.
A twofer for sure and a couple of great ones as well! Both these swarms proved once again, you just can't predict what they will do or where they decide where to finally land. Thanks for watching. God's peace Jack.

Who else demands updates on the Lion Hive see if they become the strongest hive in the Abbey lol Awesome video! That bit of woods looks like an awesome place to put bait hive boxes, Thats the sort of area that bees love. Honey bees are naturaly forest dwellers when left to there own and also rock caves near the coast lines is where I find most wild colonies,
That area is full of wild bees, the bee hive house which is only 2 miles from there is always a guarantee swarm catcher. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

Hi Mr Ed and Hulieo I’m sorry if name spelt wrong we no Mr Ed when you have the queen god bless and sir two hives lovely
Nice job. I was hoping to also see you taking down the birdhouse one.

This video snuck up on me! I didn't see it posted until now. Yay! Two for one day for me. Arkansas is my home state and I miss it. Why does smoke calm bees Mr. Ed? BTW just curious as to how you got the nick name of Mr. Ed? Had a bff that we called Mr. Ed...he passed several years ago. A kind and gentle man he was. A friend to all. Was that an Asian hornet that caught the bee? Those are mean things for sure. Glad you two had an easy removal. That was some pretty comb. Are you not going to get the bees from the box? Hoped to see that on this too. Oh well. I really enjoyed this show, as I always do!
Got to love gods wild life. Ripper video as always. And what a ripper ball of bees under the house did ya use straight lemon grass as a lure for that trap.
Easy pezie! Great job guys. About an hour on an odd hive placement! Thanks for sharing and letting me tag along :)

Judges 14:14 "Out of the strong came forth sweetness."
Samson found bees nesting in the carcass of a lion he'd killed.
What a great biblical story. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Hello
Ooooh Charlie gonna be mad hahahahah. Honey juice for the algo!
Is that fountain a heraldic Sea Lion? It reminds me of the old Tate & Lyle golden syrup tin. Bees nesting in a lion's corpse. "Out of strength came sweetness".
Judges 14:14
Out of the strong came forth sweetness.
Why use a vacuum when you can put the comb, bees and all, into a transfer box using rubber bands to hold it to a frame?
As the bee vac is specially designed not to harm bees, almost all professional bee removers use them as it is safe and efficient. Not to say it is absolutely necessary to use one, I have done dozens of removals without them, but there is nothing bad about them at all. It is simply a personal choice. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace.

Gives a new outlook on the saying, “In your face!!” 😂😂
Video was way cool Jeff.. a big ol box and they congregate underneath lol.. Like dog/ cat owners that buys them beds, they sleep anywhere but.
Reminds me of Samson
I was thinking more of the lion in The wizard of Oz. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Mr Ed, amazing how they attached the comb from the side. Great video.
Jeff, when you take down comb with uncapped brood and remove the bees, when you put them back on, do they go back and cover it or do they abandon it?
If the brood is uncapped, it generally will die during the time there are no bees covering it. All the capped brood will survive. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
I hope you fime you getting the other bees in that yard to.
Not until the fall. By then, the weather will be cooler and we will be in a nectar flow. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

Amazing
Hey Mr. Ed great job. What kind of vaccum do you use for that? Here in my country is a bit difficult to that.
I am using a "Everything Bee Vac." The link below is where they can be purchased. I'm pretty sure they deliver world wide. Great hearing from you again Luis, God's peace brother.

allmybees.com
Great catch Mr Ed. I'm jealous.
Why did they hang on / make a bridge between combs like that? 13:37 Have never seen bees do that before, hang onto each other in a chain as you remove the comb.
The behavior is known as "festooning," and it's how they are capable of building comb as they use other bees bodies as support to place the wax on structures. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
@16:03 This is not the same as Sampsons Riddle in the Book of Judges... But it UNIQUE: A BEE HIVE ON A LION FOUNTAIN! IMHO

Not yet, that will happen in the fall. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

Are my eyes borked or was that wasp the size of a sparrow?
It all happened so quickly, the image was blurred pretty bad, but the wasp was no longer than about 2 inches long. Delighted you mentioned the wasp in your comment, you are the only one to do so...at least so far. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Thinking about it the original box I had my first bee's in which is never died out but I have got splits and queen cells out of it I've seen the queen when I first got it and the second year but I haven't seen one since I know there's got to be a queen in there she just so dark
As long as you see new brood, you have a queen. Not necessary to actually see her. God's peace.

Does the vacuum suck up the uncapped brood?
No it does not. The bee vac is designed with a very low suction so it will not harm the bees or anything else in the hive. I post these videos, to show just how important bees are to our very survival, and why we should not just kill them out of ignorance. I have been rescuing bees from being needlessly destroyed for over 14 years now, and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come.
