I used to hang lizards off my earlobes as a kid to freak my Mom out but had to stop as she’s deathly afraid of lizards & I’m not even exaggerating that point in the slightest! She would literally run out of the house down the street, so Dad said I had to stop that immediately, lol. She, to this day cannot even say the word lizard. Mr. Ed, are you sure that was cut with a saw? Looks like the bees just started on a groove in the T-111 siding as it is a thinner spot to go through and they followed the sides of the groove to avoid the thicker part. Likely a small spot at the top and worked their way down. Owner needs to glue some aluminum flashing over those entry points from the inside to keep out future bees.

I can handle having one bee sniff around my hand but not a whole handful. Bless y’all. I don’t know if you remember me but we spoke earlier in the year about a mean hive. I’m amazed at where the scouts find places to establish a new hive when it’s swarm time. Some of the places I’ve seen you guys recover hives from are extraordinary.
There's much talk about how bees hear or even if they can. But we sometimes see bees vibrating other bees to wake them up, or a bunch will gather on a mature queen cell to shake her into emerging, so we know vibratory signaling is essential. The location of this colony, that's directly above an AC unit, which is loud and vibrates, says something about how bees can cope with their chosen environment. If you had asked me would bees live that close to a somewhat noisy vibrating unit before this video, I would have guessed they probably would not. Simply because the unit would interfere with their natural signaling. But there they are, thriving. Thanks for the video!

I’m sorry Mr. Ed, but that definitely looks like it has mouse teeth marks all over it. As if a mouse had gotten in between those two walls and was trying to chew a way to the outside. Probably way before the bees settled in.

I tried that years ago, but the weight of the light make the tip heavy and that makes vacuuming bees difficult. I's just easier for me to hold the flashlight with my teeth. Without wreck-it Ralph it cannot be THE dream team. It is A dream team. Ralph makes it a dream. So who got the honey beside you eating the comb up. They made such an artistic design I would hire them to bevel a piece of furniture or a wooden canvass.

I’m sorry Mr. Ed, but that definitely looks like it has mouse teeth marks all over it. As if a mouse had gotten in between those two walls and was trying to chew a way to the outside. Probably way before the bees settled in.
If the rounded edges had not been done along the entire upper edge of the plywood and only around an entrance, I would agree with you, I'm still of the belief the bees did it. God's peace Robert.

Someone needs to integrate a light for the vacuum hose.
I tried that years ago, but the weight of the light make the tip heavy and that makes vacuuming bees difficult. I's just easier for me to hold the flashlight with my teeth. Without wreck-it Ralph it cannot be THE dream team. It is A dream team. Ralph makes it a dream. So who got the honey beside you eating the comb up. They made such an artistic design I would hire them to bevel a piece of furniture or a wooden canvass.
JP got the bees and the honey, lucky him. These were some great bees. To bad Ralph couldn't make this one, he would have rounded out the team for sure. Training bees to chew rounded edges, now that would be a great trick. God's peace JJ.
