Mr Ed please keep making these videos. I know sometimes as a content creator you might think they've seen this a hundred times so I won't film this. I personally could watch these videos and never get sick of it
Thank you so much for your encouragement and support, as well as for taking the time to watch the video, it is all greatly appreciated. Until the next one, God's peace. Mr. Ed
I too love watching the bees clean up the residual honey, but even better than watching it, I love walking into the midst of them while they are feeding and listening to the sounds them make. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Jeffrey. Mr. Ed
If you ran a bit of aluminum foil from the edge of the 50 gallon drum to the edge of the separator then spills would be caught vs running done the drums outside.
That sounds like a great idea, I will consider that next time. Thank you for your suggestion and for watching, it is greatly appreciated. Also, I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Mike. Mr. Ed
Love watching each step in honey processing. With the right equipment and knowledge, you make it look easy! Thanks for taking us along on the adventure.
I so enjoy your channel for the education and entertainment. Have you considered making a filler piece with radiuses of the spinner and barrel to help minimize the cleanup, maybe of a plastic?
I have never considered adding anything to the separator as it works so well. The little mess it makes is not worth the effort to me to come up with a way to contain it. Plus, I'm really lazy at heart. Thanks for watching. God's peace Craig. Mr. Ed
It has taken over 8 years to put together all the toys inside our honey house, but trust me, the finding the right tool for the job and using it makes the job so much nicer. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Michael. Mr. Ed
Then I know for sure you will bee watching this Friday's post, it is on rendering all the cappings I separated from the honey. Looking forward to your comments. Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time tp watch my videos when it's possible. God's peace. Mr. Ed
I make sure there is not puddled honey in the bucket. As long as there is basically a film of honey on the surface, the bees will not get stuck. Thanks for watching. God's peace Brian. Mr. Ed
I know exactly what you mean, it's just so cool seeing how the work is done and the awesome things bees make are refined. If you really like this video, wait till you see Friday's post. I'm taking the wax that was separated from this video and refining that to get pure beeswax. Let me know what you think after watching that one. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Corey. Mr. Ed
It's a lot of work for you, but I sure appreciate you filming it so I get to sit here watching from my little part of the world too. It's very cathartic. I look forward to seeing the wax being rendered, and knowing just how much it weighs at the end.
I am glad to hear that you all are doing well after the storm. 😊 I enjoyed all you do for those ladies 🐝🐝🐝 , and taking us along with you. God bless 🙏 Thank You 😊
Thank you very much for your blessings, concerns, and for all the time you spend watching my bee wrangling adventures, it is all greatly appreciated. God's peace. Mr. Ed
Delighted to hear you enjoyed the honey, our girls did a fantastic job with it once again. And thank you for my birthday wishes and for watching the video, it is all greatly appreciated. God's peace Nancy. Mr. Ed
I'm simply blessed to have at my disposal great tools that make the job so much easier to preform as well as saving my back a lot of pain. Thank you so much for being a member of my channel and giving me the additional support, it is very much appreciated. Until the next one, God's peace Darrell. Mr. Ed
Thank you very much, I'm always delighted to hear when folks like what they watch. Happy birthday! This was a deeply satisfying video! Love these videos of processing beeswax. Hope to see hoe you melt these in your next videos. Love from the Philippines 🇵🇭!
Thank you for the belated birthday wishes, that is so kind of you. Stay tuned for next Friday's post on rendering of the bees wax, I'm working on it right now. Till then, God's peace. Mr. Ed
Interesting that you use a pump to drain honey from the settling barrels to the storage barrels. I think I'd just use the hoist to put them on a stand above the storage barrel and let gravity do the rest. Glad you're using machines to look after your back. A back is so difficult to fix if you injure it!
Love the content as always . Just a thought to help your process out cleaning the dry stuff from separator. Grab either a drywall knife of whatever size you think works best they’re stifff yet flexible or for bakers they have a plastic spatula that’s rigid
I did not show it on the video, but I did use my crawfish stirring paddle, a stainless steel paddle with a 7 inch paddle and 4 foot pole, to scrape the inside of the drum. It worked very well and made very short work of removing the capping from the wall of the drum. It also made picking up the pile very easy as well. Thanks for watching and for your suggestion as well, it is greatly appreciated. Until the next one, God's peace Ryan. Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff ah ok makes more sense I just noticed you were using wither a hive tool or a trim pry bar looked like you coud use some more surface area Glad this was capping separation went as well as it did what a haul for “trash” and you’ll be able to make some yellow gold bars
Hey Tom, I did not know you had a UA-cam channel, and now I have subscribed toit.I promise I will call you. Thanks for watching. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed

I have to admit, the drum lift is an awesome tool, and the fact that it is hydraulic assist really adds to it's value. Thanks for watching. God's peace Ed. Mr. Ed
Hi Mr. Ed! Thank you for sharing your perspective and process with us. That is some impressive equipment you have. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
I have to admit, I have some really cool toys to help make the work a lot more manageable. Happy to have you as a member again. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed
Unless you are a beekeeper yourself, the labor and costs are always hidden. Of course, most of us do it for the love of bees and we don't factor much else in. God's peace Rodney. Mr. Ed
Good morning Mr Ed, what a wonderful treat to have two videos this morning. Thank you 😊 we are just sitting down at the breakfast table with a cup of coffee. The sunshine is bursting thru the window, sayin hello. It's a lot of work you do, Mr. Ed. I am grateful to know you. Ya'll have a wonderful weekend yeah hear!!

Hey Jeff. You do so much without pay. God loves you. You do it for the bees and the Abbey. God bless you and all the hard work you do. Keep it coming. I know you will be retiring soon. God bless you and Mona and your life together.
You must have ESP. Hopefully I get to rendering later this week and post the video next Friday, Get ready! Thanks for watching. God's peace Shawn. Mr. Ed
Thank you Tammy, and if you enjoyed this video, next weeks video is about rendering all the cappings into beautiful blocks. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
I think we need to make a patented Mr. Ed scooper. Some kind of high tech gadget that can spread out just underneath the layer of wax and let you lift if out the top of the barrel. Maybe something that goes in as a single line, and then fans out? You heard it here first!
I'm all about high tech gadgets, especially if they can save me from doing a lot of grunt work and avoiding back pain. I can hardly wait to see what folks come up with. God's peace Adam. Mr. Ed
Actually I do not have it all figured out, but I'm working on a new technique to make the wax processing more efficient, and when I have it in place, you know I'm making a video on it. Thanks for watching. God's peace Benjamin. Mr. Ed
I love watching the Transformer movies, and I agree, the lift does have the sort of mechanical movements of a transformer along with the cool noise it makes when lifting a drum. I like the name and I may actually use it. Thanks for the suggestion and for taking the time to watch the video. Until the next one, God's peace Thea. Mr. Ed
Happy belated Birthday Ed! Hope you had an amazing day and wishing you a year filled with many blessing’s! 🙏 My daughters was the 9th and my Moms the 10th 🎉🎉🎉

Hi Ed, good video. Curious why you don't use the knifes? My understanding is they help to turn the wax over to allow more to extract and then there isn't a scraping process at the end? Or am I thinking of a spinner that auto empties?
The function of the knives is to chop the cappings as they fell into the spinner, but since the cappings from our uncapper are so small, the knives were not necessary and I removed them. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Kevin. Mr. Ed
Good morning Mr Ed. I've always loved watching how you process your honey. It's very efficient and clean making a nice honey in the end. God Bless you and all that you do for the Abbey!!
I have to say this Phil, having the right machines to help make the job so much easier certainly is nice, but having great folks like yourself following along just adds sweetness to the mix. Thank you for your blessings and support. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed
Thank you very much Larry, it's always a great deal when goodness is shared in well wishes. I also appreciate all the time you spend watching my bee wrangling adventure, thank you for that as well. I have NO idea if it is even possible, but I would LOVE to see a clip with a camera mounted to the inner drum of the wax spinner. That way it would look like the wax is just crawling to the side and then up the wall.
Though I did not show it, I did use my honey stirrer to scrape the wax off the walls, and it worked so much better. Dear Mr. ED, I enjoy your videos very much, especially the spinner videos. Could you please tell me the size of the outer tank of the wax spinner without the legs? Also, what is the length of the leg from the ground to the valve?
I'm sorry, but I do not know those measurements. However, if you go to Mann Lake Bee Supply on the web, and type in extractors and wax separators, you will probably find all the info you need on them. Thanks for watching. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed
Nice to meet you, Mr. Ed. I just found your videos today. I was wondering where I might be able to purchase a jar of your honey for myself and my family to enjoy? Is it sold online by chance?

Being a hobbyist beekeeper with around 10 hives I know beekeeping is a lot of work. You are doing an order of magnitude more work, but enjoying the efficiency economies of scale can bring. I find your shop and machinery fascinating! Thanks for sharing. God Bless
The main focus each beekeeper should maintain, regardless of the size of their operation, is to keep it fun, and for me, I'm having a LOT of fun. Thank you for your blessings and for taking the time to watch. Until the next one, God's peace. Mr. Ed
Mr.Ed an of subject question. In your oppion. Are privet or ligustrum good to have close to honeybees? The reason i ask is i enjoy making new plants rooting cuttings. I would like to have a reason other than a privacy fence for these plants. Thank you
In my opinion, yes. Some people consider the smell of ligustrum overpowering and a aids to suffering from allergies, but I'm perfectly fine with every aspect of it. Plus, it does make for a good privacy fence when tall enough. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff As a follow-up question Buford holly bush. I ask because i wish to target people in Apiculture. Do you have any suggestions. In trying to have plants in bloom over an extented time important? As well as what not to grow? Thanks good bless
Actually not a lot goes towards candle production as we just don't have enough beeswax for that purpose. However, some does as well as balm production, but most is given back to the bees for the next seasons honey crop. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. I love watching your videos. Have you ever made a video on the bottling process? Besides being able to purchase your honey from the gift shop do you sell it any other way? I sure would like to get some raw honey because I think it is so much better than getting it from a grocery store.
I made a video on bottling our honey last year, and the link is below. The only other way of buying our Abbee Honey is through the gift shop. However, I do offer my UA-cam viewers the option of buying through from me, and if you'd like to buy some of our Abbey Honey, I'd be more than happy to send you some. Every bit that I can get is used either in our honey operation, waxing plastic foundation for spring time honey, or in the Monk Soap operation, making candles and balms. The demand that is placed on wax just from these two operations here at the abbey uses all we can produce, and I turn down sales of wax all the time. Thanks for watching. God's peace Sandra. Mr. Ed

Could you develop a tool that sits in the bottom of the barrel to help you lift the wax out instead of scooping it? Cut a screen into a round shape just smaller than the barrel. Then fashion long handles that attach to the edge, but stay above the level of the honey. As you lift it, the screen will allow the honey to pass through, but it will catch the wax, and then dump it in your separator... Just a thought...
It is possible to make such a screen for the drums, however, my concern would be the placement of such a tool would obstruct some impurities from rising completely to the surface, and since our honey is unfiltered, I would not want that in the honey. Still, something to consider. Thank you for your suggestion and for watching. Until the next one, God's peace. Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff The way I imagine it, you'd have one for each drum and the screen would be in the bottom of the barrel before you start to fill it. The handles would run up the side and almost reach the top of the barrel. If the screen started at the bottom, there would be no issue with obstructing impurities from rising. The only potential issue I can see is the drain valve obstructing raising the screen. I'm not sure how far it goes into the barrel. You'd have to modify the screen to pass the drain valve, but that would be easy enough.
Mr Ed please keep making these videos. I know sometimes as a content creator you might think they've seen this a hundred times so I won't film this. I personally could watch these videos and never get sick of it

I have to ask when you put out all those buckets 🪣 for the bees 🐝 to clean don't the Bees get stuck in the honey ? Thanks 😊
I make sure there is not puddled honey in the bucket. As long as there is basically a film of honey on the surface, the bees will not get stuck. Thanks for watching. God's peace Brian.

Interesting that you use a pump to drain honey from the settling barrels to the storage barrels. I think I'd just use the hoist to put them on a stand above the storage barrel and let gravity do the rest.
Glad you're using machines to look after your back. A back is so difficult to fix if you injure it!
I use the pump as often as I can because it is the easiest way, at least on my back, to move honey. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

Love the content as always

Are privet or ligustrum good to have close to honeybees?

Does the honey separated from the wax taste the same as the rest?
It sure does, after all it all came from the same source. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Do you have a video of your processing of the wax after extracting the honey and what do you use it for?
I sure do, as a fact, I make a video on it every year so there are many videos you could choose from to watch. The video link below is just one of them, and if you go to the playlist on my channel you will find a lot more. Thanks for watching. God's peace Lee.

Goldenrod is blooming here in north west alabama. The rain came just in time. The last few years it has been dry of nectar.
I just saw the beginnings of flowers on our yesterday. I even took a picture of it. Thanks for watching. God's peace Michael.

Hello there Mr Ed blessing to you and the whole crew. I try to watch as many of the folks,as I can but I have limited time sweet friend. I will try to catch a few videos when I can .i just think what you all do is so important.💕💕💕
So very kind of you to stop by when you can, I understand it perfectly. Heck, I watch very little UA-cam because I'm so busy with things going on in my life. I do however spend a lot of time shooting, editing, and posting videos as well as answering as many comments as I can. Thanks so much for watching when you can. God's peace Grace.

Late Happy Birthday Mr. Ed. God Bless

Mr. Ed
If I may ask, what is made with the wax? Plus can we buy honey and or other products of yours in the Netherlands? Do you ship out?
The video link below shows what the rendered wax is used for in our honey bee operation here at St. Joseph Abbey. I honestly can't say if the products sold in the Abbey's Gift Shop are sold out of the country, but if you visit the Abbey's web site at stjosephabbey.com and visit they Gift Shop, you may find your answer. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace.

@@Chris-zo5ze Just have the screen resting a bit above the bottom.
