The Acadian Beaumont was based off the Chevrolet Chevelle, and it was built by General Motors of Canada. Acadian Beaumonts were sold at Pontiac dealerships in Canada, Chile, and Puerto Rico. Acadian was a standalone marque in Canada, but in 1970, GM phased out the brand and model in favor to sell other GM A-Body models Chevrolet Chevelle/Malibu, Pontiac Tempest/LeMans, Buick Special/Skylark and Oldsmobile Cutlass/Cutlass Supreme
