They mention in this video the front fenders had a gap to the body when installed on the truck and they ended up cutting the fenders. That gap was for the fender rubber strip. I have a original 1949 and there is a large gap there for the rubber.

The vehicle that got me into cool vehicles about 50 yrs ago. A guy that worked on my Dad’s farm had a 55 ford with a 327 Vette engine with a Muncie transmission. Metallic blue, loud and beautiful.
