I had been team Sony for so long. The OG Playstation, then the PS2 which I thought was revolutionary compared to a xbox.. (Hell I even think I owned a PSOne as well). The controller was so comfortable and truly ahead of its time. Plus it's overall shape didn't change for like 4 generations. I remember way back looking through the sunday paper for black friday events and seeing a full spread of xbox 360 games and like a little foot note of PS3 games on the back of the page.. 🤦♂Because of the shear game selection and amount of friends that already had 360s I (at the time) had no choice. Kids got it so lucky today because of crossplay. But back then, you had to choose your line in the sand.
I've been a Sony fanboy since the ps1 all the way to ps3 slim. So basically PS3 superslim (which was kinda scammy) onwards is trash. The consoles I mean.
The PS3 is the ultimate Playstation system, but it was ridiculously expensive, bloated, hard to develop for, and had a limited library. Sony's solution was to streamline the system, make it more affordable, and focus on developing must-have titles. They completely turned the ship around. Compare that to today: the PS5 is a fantastic system, but it's expensive (and bizarrely continues to get more expensive) and has a subpar line-up of games. It feels like there's more hardware being pumped out than software! PSVR2 is limited and unnecessary; the Portal is a glorified Wii U gamepad with fewer features (yes, really); and the Pro is obscenely expensive and doesn't even come with a stand, let alone a disc drive! I love PlayStation, but the decisions they're making now don't bode well for the future.
PS3 is 230 GFLOPS, XBOX 360 is slighly more powerful with 240 GFLOPS. PS3 had slow start, BluRay did not carry sales, but Microsoft ruined XBOX 360 future sales by focuring only on Kinect, that was ultimate rubbiss. Both companys should had left motion controls to Nintendo, despite that the feature made WII winner of the generation. PS3 & XBOX 360 motion control crap was too little, too late. Those consoles had different userbase anyway.
Not gono lie despite everything the ps3 was unlike abything when it released I remember seeing games and no console or pc could give me the same visuals and realism I have seem from the ps3 back when it released it was a powerhouse .
Wat? Sony almost died because of its other non-profitable divisions like phones and computers. PlayStation never almost destroyed itself. You need to learn history, bud.

I'm having a deja vu...
Playstation is destroying itself currently. However, if Nintendo can have a Wii U flop, Sony could have one to.
They were so desperate, so they created the Portal to make it alike!

Seems like it must’ve that crazy that it gave you an aneurysm while writing this
They are again trying to destroy themselves this time with their DEI program.
