Ever since Iceborne expansion, anyone who starts with that will be skipping leveling up their high rank levels and move straight to master-rank, hence why this skit is not revelant anymore with the current experience. (but yes, back then HR49 was a challenging wall many day-one hunters had to face)

I just kept trying until i beat it. Took me 6 solo tries with dual blades. (No anti-stun equipment or raincoat) Once you recognise it’s attack patterns, it’s doable
Actually. I got MHW on PC launch, but the controls were so horrible to me that I stopped at Tobi. Then later I watched this video and thought that in end-game everyone is using the exact same things due to the dudes being copypasta. Now I'm 100h in and loving it.
I don't get the fuzz really, had like negative 9 lightning resist and didn't die once on the run I killed him (after failing numerous times before) Tried weebsword, dual blades and lance, but finally settled on sticky bomb/cluster HBG, worked like a charm.
Tbh I don't think lightning res matters too much. I did the quest with -4 lightning res. All I needed was temporal mantle, thunderproof mantle, and vitality mantle.
idk if you know this now or what but unsheath ur weapon walk to sleeping monster's head turn at another direction then roll 1 time that's mostly perfect distance or just watch ur character walk 3 step from monster's head(I do this when I got evade extender on my list lol)
As a great sword main, do you think that your weapon is objectively better than every other weapon in the game? (And do you or do you not hate hammer mains most of all) that's basically GS mains in a nutshell for me...at least the ones i hunted with...they were very entitled "ooh look at me I've got a huge sword that's bigger than yours and it's so much better because it does so much more attack even though the Greatsword is literally just do the same attack over and over and over and disregard every other GS attack that ISNT true charge!"
At the beginning, the Kirin looks about 110% done with the hunters following her that I just couldn’t help but laugh at the whole thing. It’s so bizarre and satisfying at the same time seeing these two franchises being mixed.

@傷齒龍147 Troodon147 no, 400 defense isn't low, and regular tempered kirin can't 1 shot with 400 defense and 25 thunder resist, you can survive a thunder attack from arc tempered with 400 defense and 25 thunder if you're a Gunner because most of kirins attacks are element based so a Gunner will survive it
Hm, my Defense on High was 380 and later in Super High was 510. So, I guess the defense is OK. You sould be glad, you dont know Akantor, G-Rank Dalamadur, ore fucking Crimson Fatalis. Ore G-Rank Magma Tigrex. Everyone of those is a Oneshot. Fatalis whit his Bodyslam, and he is big, Dalamadur attacks nearly the entire Battlefield. Supermandive in the right moment, ore your screwed, and Molden Tigrex litteraly oneshottet two Players in the exact same Time whit his Roar. And later another one, 3 Oneshots in one Battle, just by Roaring. And Akantor, ore his Icy Version Ukanlos, they have no Oneshots, but are Bulky and can Two-Hit-KO you. I know no Monster beside Fatalis, who uses his immense Body so incredible for his oppurtunity, and I love it.
@@Sunaki1000 I've played monster hunter freeeom unite on psp, they werent too hard, those days it was about dodging correctly to be a tank, but now you can tank just enough to kill anything in mhw since they know the new movesets are sometimes unavoidable or unpredictable For example, tigrex had a small sign what type of running/trampling he was gonna do in and out of rage mode by wich foot he steps with first, but monsters now only have the sign if it's gonna be a heavy or light attack, wich in case of luna, her supernova tends to catch people off guard because her spiral twirl is kinda fast
Alright, not bad but I'll leave a few extra tips here. First, the canteen has a veggie platter that if you eat, provides elemental resistance large which gives you 15 more resistance points in everything. Second, when Kirin strikes himself with lightning there are only two ways to not have your weapons bounce, having white sharpness or attacking the horn. Third while paratoads don't work there is a sleeptoad that is on different platform in that area that will allow you to sleep bomb Kirin for that easy damage. And finally, vitality jewels because 50 extra health is nothing to scoff at and can allow for more careless plays if necessary. Edit: There are also poison cups in the same area as the sleeptoad that can poison Kirin for extra damage, along with that a mind's eye skill can greatly help if you can, but the armor that gives you it does leave you a little weaker to thunder, and along with that elder seal can force Kirin out of his electrified state lowering his defense down to normal. These edit tips were given by the helpful people who responded to this comment, if you have any that can apply to all weapon classes I would love to add it.
I'll toss another couple of tips in too, first: kirin is weakest to fire and poison so use those poison cups as much as possible, second: lance is a good weapon to use as long as you are willing to wait 60 years. tldr; fire and poison is good, thunder is bad.
Ragnorak64 I prefer going for the helpful info that the game doesn't tell you because chances are that's the stuff that makes or breaks the hunt, not drag it out a few more minutes by not knowing.
Ragnorak64 some more things to lance: my fastest tempered kirin with the los lance was ~10 minutes. New to this game you can block the normal lightnings without the uragaan guard, but not the lightnings on the ground (did not test ultra block, too dangerous xD). If you block the kirin while it is charging towards you, it can happen that it will stop and be stunned for a very short time. So with lance, stand in front of it and stab, stab, counter guard (and maybe ultra block from there if you need to change direction), stab, stab, ... (eventually you need to "Block-Evade" sometimes, i mean this hop with raised Shield you can perform while blocking or mid combo) oh, and the stabs with circle (or B) deal more damage then the others. ^^
Yeap. When you get struck by Kirin's lightning, you will have static on your body and there next lightning strike will paralyse you. Thunderproof Mantle will prevent that from happening. Also eat nulberry if there is static on your body.
Same for immunity mantle, but thunder mantle also reduces lightning damage. Immunity mantle also prevents being stunned from being repeatedly hit within a short amount of time. Also being stunned =/= paralyzed. Anti-para for paralysis, Stun Resistance for stun.
The thunder blight highly increase your chance of being stunned when attacked but won't paralyse (paralysis and stun are not the same thing), it's just that some of Kirin's attack will paralyse you and some other will only do damage.
well he tends to do the MH stuff in seasons, and he also never did animations for MHXX stating he wouldnt until it comes west, so thats coming west in august meaning its likely the next season will focus on MH Generations Ultimate, aka XX
well thats a sensible reason not to, im not hating either way lol but yeah im still hoping it eventually comes to 3DS, ive got some friends who played Generations but they actually cant afford a Switch for a VERY long time, probably a year or more, they dont really have any monetary access so its hard for them to shell out $300 USD for it so i just hope it eventually comes to 3DS, mostly for the people who CANT get a Switch or at least dotn want to, plus playing games on the go is easier on 3DS because it actually has some level of battery life, the Switch is a fun system and all, but if im playin on the go i dont want my system to crap out after about 2 and a half hours, im usually in a 6 hour car ride in those cases
Same with reloading something that makes you sit still. Can't tell you how many times I have been knocked out of a reload while everyone else is right next to the monster.
It actually is. the AI prioritizes the most vulnerable players in order to keep the challenge up. otherwise it would be somewhat easy if it only would attack the closest targets

@Mhwman 2947 It all comes down to not getting hasty and being prepared. When I fight Kirin I don't fuck around: +3 Vit, Stun resist, Para resist, LR, and a full assortment of mega nutrients, ATK/DEF potions, healing cloud powders etc. Then you see the moron with 100 base health and no stun resist or LR get carted 3x in 2mins and facepalm.
Aoi Tamashii Aoi Tamashii To be honest none of that is needed. It helps greatly, though! I just eat food for Elemental Resistance L and some form of Def Up to compensate for using whatever gear I want to use haha. I never fight Kirin with random people. I usually go solo if I need materials, or just want to have some fun and practice. Tempered is for fun, normal is for materials. Both I see as practice.
When fighting Kirin, I always have maxed thunder and stun resistance. And if I can manage to squeeze it in, a bit of paralysis resistance as well. If your thunder resistance is above 20 youre basically immune to thunderblight I think as well
I only attempted this fight after I got thunderproof mantle and maxed out my Fatalis set. The helmet gives max stun resistance and I had the thunderproof mantle for paralysis. Bring in my Fatalis Dual Skies and the horsy died in 15 minutes
I was like 'How am I supposed to dodge all these lightning attacks?!', then I crafted some Kadachi armor and upgraded it for thunder resistance, proceded to fight again without getting hit by any lightning attack. I got gud.
You don't really need full thunder res. Having higher defense is better. As long as your armour is high enough and you don't get stunned by blights then it's fine or you learn to not ever get hit.

@@bryllbotardo5749 yes they are. In order to resist blights you need to have a high enough elemental resistance to that element. Defense is your main armour though and if you have good gear then getting hit won't matter because you can tank the damage. Element resistance just slightly reduces the damage you will take from that element but it's basically pointless if you're not going the blight resistance.
The C&C song, Turok song, the old-school pixel scenes, and the MLP mash-up with TiaraWhy made this pretty great. Great video. Whenever I fought Tempered Kirin I had no less than 43 thunder res. I could STILL take more than half damage at times from thunder attacks.
Yeah i had like 35 Thunder Resistance, and i had the gems that increase max health. Having such a high lightning resistance made me immune to paralyze, it meant i took WAY less damage, and having a really large health pool means i couldn't get 2-shot by Kirin and only way I'd die is if i got hit twice, got "stunned" and hit a third time.
I got you beat. I had 43 thunder res, 200 health with food (Vitality 3) and level 3 divine blessing. Still took a ton of damage and could die if I got careless. Not everyone has a setup like this so it's hard! It's funny because my friend said World was too easy. When I brought him along for HR49 he died multiple times in a row going for GS meta charges blaming it on lots of reasons.
Foxon Silverfur oh I had Divine Blessing too. I dunno I beat tempered Kirin on my first try. In a part of just 2 people. I then soloed every other Elder Dragon and beat them on my first try. Deviljho was the first monster to actually give me trouble. I try to build my guys so I can't get 2-shot by the monster I'm about to fight. I have shit reflexes so I figure if I can't get 2-shot then only way I die is if I get careless.

Danger Beans Took me a day since I made an Anti-Kirin set and after getting used to it’s attack patterns somewhat. I gave up doing it as a group since everyone kept dying and I stopped dying. Thus I went and soloed Kirin with my trusty great sword.
LuchoGFly Its "Timesplitters 2: Siberia" Thats why I love these parodies so much. Not because they hit my sense of humour that hard, but because he uses Soundtracks from Timesplitters which is basically my favourite childhood game. I think I dont need to explain why. ;)
You forgot the most important tip of all: *always hunt Kirin solo* Rando Calrissian, Antonio Randeras, and Marlon Rando are lightning magnets and are guaranteed to burn through your carts in record time. If you've some friends that you can trust to dodge lightning then fine...but still: Kirin and TKirin are a lot easier solo. If you ignore this tip, then at least take something with high elder seal. I'd recommend the Nerg bow. It's rapid-fire combo does a pretty good job at keeping Kirin from being able to use his lightning barrier.

Day 89 in HR49 hell I've brought about 10 outta the 14 different weapon types all with lvl 7 and 8 rarity my hands have blisters from shooting Sos flares. The sound of lightning and carts keep me up to the late hours of the night unable to blink and move.. When I flip on my kitchen light I expect to return to canp with my buffs gone and my rewards reduced. You thought the "brony era" was cancer in 2010/2011? No Kirin IS THE STUFF OF NIGHTMARES. Thunder Mantles mean little to him and mega potions and 26 lightning resistance is all but fodder while he gallops and laughs and tramples all over your hopes of dreams of obtaining HR 50. I bow to you oh lightning horse for I am at your mercy. Perhaps... this is fate and what I the Hunter (who is now the hunted) deserve.

solo it, use LBG and slice ammo, take your time and go slow, slice ammo doesn't get affected by his thunder armor and doesn't have a critical distance either, deal same damage being close or far from him

No actually, this one was "easy" for me, I cleared the quest fast but Behemoth and the remaining crowns are another story (small: Tobi, Rado, Ura; big: Rathalos, Ura, Black Diablos, Lavasioth, Kirin, Kushala, Vaal and Nrgigante).
Hunted the hr 49 Kirin for the first time today and I used a tank hbg build but all I could think of when it got enraged was “THERE IS SO MUCH LIGHTNING”

I found that doing by yourself is easier. Using your Palico with the buffing horn can give you immunity to paralysis. Also wearing full ingot armour worked like a treat especially with gems for extra elec res and anti para

I'll toss another couple of tips in too, first: kirin is weakest to fire and poison so use those poison cups as much as possible, second: lance is a good weapon to use as long as you are willing to wait 60 years.
tldr; fire and poison is good, thunder is bad.

I prefer going for the helpful info that the game doesn't tell you because chances are that's the stuff that makes or breaks the hunt, not drag it out a few more minutes by not knowing.
Ragnorak64 some more things to lance: my fastest tempered kirin with the los lance was ~10 minutes. New to this game you can block the normal lightnings without the uragaan guard, but not the lightnings on the ground (did not test ultra block, too dangerous xD). If you block the kirin while it is charging towards you, it can happen that it will stop and be stunned for a very short time. So with lance, stand in front of it and stab, stab, counter guard (and maybe ultra block from there if you need to change direction), stab, stab, ... (eventually you need to "Block-Evade" sometimes, i mean this hop with raised Shield you can perform while blocking or mid combo) oh, and the stabs with circle (or B) deal more damage then the others. ^^

Yeap. When you get struck by Kirin's lightning, you will have static on your body and there next lightning strike will paralyse you. Thunderproof Mantle will prevent that from happening. Also eat nulberry if there is static on your body.
Same for immunity mantle, but thunder mantle also reduces lightning damage. Immunity mantle also prevents being stunned from being repeatedly hit within a short amount of time. Also being stunned =/= paralyzed. Anti-para for paralysis, Stun Resistance for stun.
Does Not stop Stun though. ;)
The thunder blight highly increase your chance of being stunned when attacked but won't paralyse (paralysis and stun are not the same thing), it's just that some of Kirin's attack will paralyse you and some other will only do damage.

It actually is. the AI prioritizes the most vulnerable players in order to keep the challenge up. otherwise it would be somewhat easy if it only would attack the closest targets

When I fight Kirin I don't fuck around: +3 Vit, Stun resist, Para resist, LR, and a full assortment of mega nutrients, ATK/DEF potions, healing cloud powders etc. Then you see the moron with 100 base health and no stun resist or LR get carted 3x in 2mins and facepalm.

I never fight Kirin with random people. I usually go solo if I need materials, or just want to have some fun and practice. Tempered is for fun, normal is for materials. Both I see as practice.

When fighting Kirin, I always have maxed thunder and stun resistance. And if I can manage to squeeze it in, a bit of paralysis resistance as well. If your thunder resistance is above 20 youre basically immune to thunderblight I think as well
I only attempted this fight after I got thunderproof mantle and maxed out my Fatalis set. The helmet gives max stun resistance and I had the thunderproof mantle for paralysis. Bring in my Fatalis Dual Skies and the horsy died in 15 minutes

I was like 'How am I supposed to dodge all these lightning attacks?!', then I crafted some Kadachi armor and upgraded it for thunder resistance, proceded to fight again without getting hit by any lightning attack.

You don't really need full thunder res. Having higher defense is better. As long as your armour is high enough and you don't get stunned by blights then it's fine or you learn to not ever get hit.

@@bryllbotardo5749 yes they are. In order to resist blights you need to have a high enough elemental resistance to that element. Defense is your main armour though and if you have good gear then getting hit won't matter because you can tank the damage. Element resistance just slightly reduces the damage you will take from that element but it's basically pointless if you're not going the blight resistance.

Whenever I fought Tempered Kirin I had no less than 43 thunder res. I could STILL take more than half damage at times from thunder attacks.
Yeah i had like 35 Thunder Resistance, and i had the gems that increase max health. Having such a high lightning resistance made me immune to paralyze, it meant i took WAY less damage, and having a really large health pool means i couldn't get 2-shot by Kirin and only way I'd die is if i got hit twice, got "stunned" and hit a third time.
I got you beat. I had 43 thunder res, 200 health with food (Vitality 3) and level 3 divine blessing.
Still took a ton of damage and could die if I got careless. Not everyone has a setup like this so it's hard!
It's funny because my friend said World was too easy. When I brought him along for HR49 he died multiple times in a row going for GS meta charges blaming it on lots of reasons.
Foxon Silverfur oh I had Divine Blessing too. I dunno I beat tempered Kirin on my first try. In a part of just 2 people. I then soloed every other Elder Dragon and beat them on my first try. Deviljho was the first monster to actually give me trouble.
I try to build my guys so I can't get 2-shot by the monster I'm about to fight. I have shit reflexes so I figure if I can't get 2-shot then only way I die is if I get careless.

Took me a day since I made an Anti-Kirin set and after getting used to it’s attack patterns somewhat. I gave up doing it as a group since everyone kept dying and I stopped dying. Thus I went and soloed Kirin with my trusty great sword.

You forgot the most important tip of all: *always hunt Kirin solo*
Rando Calrissian, Antonio Randeras, and Marlon Rando are lightning magnets and are guaranteed to burn through your carts in record time. If you've some friends that you can trust to dodge lightning then fine...but still: Kirin and TKirin are a lot easier solo.
If you ignore this tip, then at least take something with high elder seal. I'd recommend the Nerg bow. It's rapid-fire combo does a pretty good job at keeping Kirin from being able to use his lightning barrier.

Day 89 in HR49 hell I've brought about 10 outta the 14 different weapon types all with lvl 7 and 8 rarity my hands have blisters from shooting Sos flares. The sound of lightning and carts keep me up to the late hours of the night unable to blink and move.. When I flip on my kitchen light I expect to return to canp with my buffs gone and my rewards reduced. You thought the "brony era" was cancer in 2010/2011? No Kirin IS THE STUFF OF NIGHTMARES. Thunder Mantles mean little to him and mega potions and 26 lightning resistance is all but fodder while he gallops and laughs and tramples all over your hopes of dreams of obtaining HR 50. I bow to you oh lightning horse for I am at your mercy. Perhaps... this is fate and what I the Hunter (who is now the hunted) deserve.

solo it, use LBG and slice ammo, take your time and go slow, slice ammo doesn't get affected by his thunder armor and doesn't have a critical distance either, deal same damage being close or far from him
with vaal hazzak LBG + 1 reload speed /2 recoil suppressor you can shot, reload and walk at the same time with slice ammo

No actually, this one was "easy" for me, I cleared the quest fast but Behemoth and the remaining crowns are another story (small: Tobi, Rado, Ura; big: Rathalos, Ura, Black Diablos, Lavasioth, Kirin, Kushala, Vaal and Nrgigante).

I found that doing by yourself is easier. Using your Palico with the buffing horn can give you immunity to paralysis. Also wearing full ingot armour worked like a treat especially with gems for extra elec res and anti para
