This is a somewhat long story of how I finally killed Behemoth with a bunch of randoms who responded to my SOS flare. I was surprised because I thought I was going to fail the quest again. There was no tank in our team and our team pretty much consisted of 3 Long Sword users (one of them was me) and an Insect Glaive user. Not only were we a good team but that Insect Glaive user was one of the main reasons why we managed to kill Behemoth. So basically, every time the Insect Glaive user mounted Behemoth, he would stay up there for as long as possible. He wasn't stabbing Behemoth so I assumed he just held down R1. Anyways, during that time, the 3 of us kept attacking Behemoth because we noticed that Behemoth doesn't really attack that much when someone is mounting him. We exploited it and we LS users just massacred him with countless Spirit Blade attacks and Spirit Healmbreakers. Someone also made sure to cut off his tail on Stage 1 of the fight (I assume it was the IG user since he knew what type of strategy he was going to use from the start). When the Insect Glaive user finally took him down, Behemoth would then summon 2-3 comets in quick succession (about 5 seconds apart) and then an Ecliptic Meteor right after. This was literally what happened in Stage 2, 3 and 4 of the fight. That's how much damage we did while the Insect Glaive user was mounted on Behemoth. I was so happy to finally kill Behemoth after months of being paired up with garbage team who kept dying over and over. I'm definitely going to start using this strategy every time I fight Behemoth and it's all thanks to that Insect Glaive user. He was a team player and the MVP of that session. Too bad, I didn't send him and the others a friend request.
Yep.. honestly playing with randos for the FIRST playthrough of behemoth is always likely to fail because of the fact most of your SOS responders aren't people who've actually beaten the Behemoth yet and are just leeching off SOS flares for the free allies, that was my experience too. However, I think your IG user was likely a person who had already beaten it and was genuinely helping out, because you have hunters like those. You really don't need ROLES to beat Behemoth unless it's Extremoth, as with the right skillful playing, even a Dual Blade Wielder can just take enmity and spam dodge around the Behemoth (I'm one of the few people whose tried this, but I don't recommend it still cause I was just doing it for fun to see if I could.. I'm actually not even that skilled of a hunter though, but I can say it works for base behemoth).
I beat it on my 284778394 try with a random sos squad and im a glaive user and I used this tactic as well cuz behemoth is chiller when he’s mounted I was just hoping they’d catch on to what I was doing!

I really admire the effort to animate the wiggler helmet, thats dedication! I also like how the hunters were somewhat competent while hunting and they actually kill the monster, that's surprisingly rare in MH animations.
And then there's randoms in hunts. I find good ones and not so good ones, and still win with 1 cart even if I nerf myself using unfamiliar weapon styles.
He isn't that hard to fight, just don't go into it with randoms like I did, I learned how to avoid almost all it's attacks but that doesn't mean you will always find other people whose learn to do the same, seriously, plan before going in alone, I have to have my whole inventory full of EVERYTHING just to keep everyone alive, so trust me when I say it's better with friends...
8:11 That literally happened to me once, where someone tried to do a FF14 jump during the Behemoths final death meteor, the cutscene of it falling played and followed up by my buddies body plummeted right in front of us.... The timing of it was so great and everyone of us was laughing so hard we actually forgot to carve the damn thing. It was great.
Capcom should create an in-game barrier that makes it mandatory to watch this video before any hunter is even allowed to join a Behemoth quest. Probably should include a written test, too. Just to be sure everybody understood what's going on.
all they need to do is add a Role system to matchmaking... just put people in roles based on their weapon and skills..... or have it where players can pick a role before heading into the quest. just to let everyone on the team know if they have all the roles they need. theres MANY ways to improve the matchmaking for this quest, but i doubt they put in the effort to implement something like that.
RW : V the thing is. The healer get stunned and people don’t bother to free him or heal themselves. I find just grouping with people you know is best. Somebody will queue as healz but have no gear for it. This happens in many mmos
So you never just have Jho show up at the right place at the wrong time huh? Or stun Jho to get him off just for Behemoth to go “f*ck both of you” & use Meteor?
This was brilliant! Been looking forward to this animation since you announced it, fantastic work...I always wondered how those comets appeared on the battlefield!
@Justin Oviedo I kind of like the sound of Wiggler Man. I haven't bought the game yet. Is that extra-tall helmet thing a cosmetic that shows up in every MH game?
@@Thalanox Wiggler head can get from event quest "Wiggle Me This". You basically need to catch 10 Wiggler(need to do quest more than once) to get Wiggle Ticket to craft this head at Smithy.
I did it with randos, the stars aligned and everybody did their part, 1 hbg tank to draw agro, 1 SnS user as healer, 1 HH buffer and me as cluster dps. Shit was tight and now I have bragging rights in my guild card.
Your behemoth videos helped me and my boyfriend fight through both versions of Behemoth, getting all the master rank versions of his stuff as well as the layered armour. Terrific stuff!!
fromeggman I was able to do it w/ randoms using wide-range lvl 5 to heal them the whole time. But even that won't carry randoms through extreme Behemoth apparently.
im about to give up on Tanking with randos........ im about to just switch to healer from now on. im so tired of trying to Tank without a healer..... but watch. as soon as i switch, there wont be any Tanks joining........ i just bet on it.
I feel you man. I got to the point where I was literally tanking with a goddamn Great Sword because nobody wants too man up and gain it's enmity and try to tank it EVEN WHEN THERE IS A TANK ON THE TEAM! I'm literally playing like 3 roles tanking, trying to do decent dps AND heal alll at the same time. It's a nightmare. I can only carry so much, but my back is starting to hurt. :(
Behemoth is also easy to predict if you can distinguish between his behaviors in each phase. (No clue how extreme acts compared to normal so this is what normal behemoth is like) Stage 1 is simple, his meteor is easy to escape and wind can be easily managed without flashing him. The only thing to worry about is his sweeping body charges that can catch you off guard from accross the room at times. Stage 2 is very focused on casting. Meteor will now target three hunters in a row unless enmity is active, so never assume you are safe from it unless behemoth has his sights on someone else. Also, he now uses lightning that can easily tap you with stun vulnerability before striking three distinct spots in front of him in multi-bolt lines. Best way to avoid it is to run slightly to the left or right of wherever he is facing or simply getting behind him quickly. This stage as well as 3 and 4 end with an ecliptic meteor. Stage 3 causes him to abandon most ranged abilities for physical ones, gaining a forearm slam that sends explosive tremors forward in a line as well as a horn attack that pins the target in place, afflicting bleed before sending them flying backwards and forcing enmity on them. It is highly recommended to flash the behemoth before he finishes the pin to keep the newly wounded hunter from being focused. If you have not by now it is important to sever it's tail by this point to keep his spin attack's range severly limited since this stage involves much more up close and personal combat. Keeping enmity on the designated tank is crucial in the last two stages due to how aggressive and quick he becomes near the end. Stage 4 is Behemoth's last stand. He will pull all of his available abilities from the other 3 stages together and attack very quickly, making it difficult to close in on him at this point. Saving your mounts until this point is very useful to get late stage damage in without his increased aggression forcing the DPS back. Keep in mind that the arena he fights in at this point does include environmental hazards, so keep an eye on both the fight and where you are standing at any given point. Force him to the brink, hunters, this is the time to strike decisively and end this Eorzean brute's invasion on this New World. Use the advice given here in combination with everything displayed in the video as well as the plethora of tips other veterans have discovered and prove to the New World exactly who you are. A real champion of adversity.
I would add to this that if Stage 2 ends without any part of the Behemoth beeing broken, it will head for the hot areas of the map for Stage 3 and 4 (ending in Teostra's lair). The Behemoth retains the same attacks and patterns as with normal Stage 3 and 4, but the environmental hazards are much more lethal and you have to manage Cold Drinks. My suggestion is to go for a tail sever as early as possible to both avoid this scenario and ease Stage 3. No idea if this is also a thing in Extreme Behemoth.
@Nyan Gatetoh I want to solo the Extreme Behemoth at least once... but that's a project for another day. It's hard enough in a decent group, and thus far even harder solo.
Stage 2 is where most inexperienced players will fail. Stage 3 requires luck and coordination. Mounting here works well. Remove its horns and tail ASAP, either stage 1 or 2. Yes, you can dodge Ecliptic Meteor by using Jump, but timing has to be precise. Stick to using the Comets for cover. As for stage 4, good luck. As mentioned, you have ALL of its attacks to deal with. It can be done, but get a good team.
@@christianalbanito3062 I fought him 5 times and I say with randoms no chance and his tremors and the range of his tail are often nothing short than unfair. The only monster I hate this much is Bazelgeuse. The first because beeing unfair (I dont have good mates for killing even the normal Behemoth) and the latter because he is annoying.

As someone who is new to MHW, I’ve loved these animations and they’ve gotten me very heavy into the game, thank you for making these and adding in the bare advice you do, it really makes me so excited for end game Alatreon, Fatalis, Behemoth etc.
how far along are you?! I got world about 6 months ago and I just got iceborne this past Christmas I don't play as much as I like but I just got to Master Rank 10! Velkhana is next on the list! I've only been playing solo btw
Played base for around 4 years, not consistently obviously, switched platforms, lost saves, never beat Extremoth even with parties, beating him and getting Iceborne is my goal as of right now though, wish there was a new monster hunter on the scale of World, but Monster hunter Rise will do just nicely, I played duantless too.
Im gonna make a new account where i play as NotGenji Wish me luck cause im gonna go insane only wearing legania armor and playing longsword Now if you encounter a guy named NotGenji expect me to spam you with *i need healing* Thx NCH 4 da heart -w-
@@enriquepowers I mean i guess, but even then when we defeated him for the first time and we continued for more runs on him, they got substantially easier after the first struggle
That's what Monster Hunter is all about: going from a green hunter who can barely kill small carnivores to a seasoned slayer who can kill anything the game throws at him.
I'd like to say I've never done that, but I did have ONE time where the same guy got himself KO'd by the same attack three times in a row... in phase 1 (I had vouchered for insurance, too, and he just tossed it away). Knew where that fight was going, and after hours of trying to succeed in a party of randos to no avail, I wasn't having it that time.
That was almost every Behemoth fight I joined. Doesn't matter when someone carted, even if it was just once, everyone bails. I get wanting to preserve your items but why do they bother setting up/responding to an SOS if they're just going to piss off? Unless flawless runs are common?
Tbh I do that, but only during runs where people waste two carts before even getting out of the first area. No point wasting mats on an obvious lost cause :/
Not really? If it didn't happen I wouldn't say it lol but you have good points though. Two first phase dropouts does scream lost cause. Second phase I can kinda see too cuz, while it seems like you could pull through, the players might not be willing to take such a risk on all the items the invested into that particular hunt. It's still annoying but I guess I can't really fault them for it either.
I never did...okay maybe a just that one time but that was because it was my fault for fucking up twice so I thought it'd be best to not be in there again.
As a Final Fantasy player and a former Monster Hunter wannabe, I love how they make both mechanics work in such different games. While I watch how this Behemoth work, I assume it is not that hard because I am used to everything we have been through in Final Fantasy XIV but Rathalos EX is a pain most of the Final Fantasy players would rather avoid. However, our playstyle is different and it is not what we are used to but what can our characters do.
Ive bounced off of Apex monsters in 4U...i have slain the Ancient Scrolls super Gogmazios entirely on my own...ive climbed the peaks of Shah Dalamadur and experienced its meteor spam first hand. I ventured the fields of Bherna, stooped low into wyverns end to face off with Nakarkos, and climbed the sacred mountain to impale the heart of the storm Amatsu on my Insect Glaive. I can say...i know one or two things about Monster Hunter, and i say...I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MUCH BULL§&$% in the entirety of ALL MY TIME PLAYING THIS FRANCHISE LIKE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST FUCKING BEHEMOTH! SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK?! AAAAAAAAARGH!!!
I only stayed in this game for a short time, probably about only 60-70 hours tops compared to my 800 hours in both 4U and Gen. Also...i really didnt mind underwater combat that much...
I've managed to defeat my optional quest of Behemoth with a team of 2 insect glaive users and 2 dual blade users and lemme tell ya man it was fire! It was such a good run with 1 death from me but we were 5 min away from the quest and it was nerve wrecking but I finally defeated the optional quest! Now I have to farm the shearclaw solo cuz that fight only gave me ONE shearclaw! I can't believe I just found out about this channel you've just gained a new subscriber! This is so hilarious and super helpful and amazingly animated!
Right this is the best video ever, not only do you clearly play other Monster Hunters as you used Valstrax, you used the Timesplitters military theme, literally my two most favourite franchises in one amazing animation :0
You mean Do: GET FUCKING TEAMMATES THAT KNOW HOW TO FLASH AND GET BEHIND THE BOULDER Don't: NOT ABONDONING BEFORE ALL YOUR STUFF GETS WASTED BECAUSE R.I.P. TO LIGHT OR HEAVY BOW GUNS. That is all.
Now that’s a lotta damage! How about a little more?! *NOW THATS A LOT OF DAMAGE* But flex tape- I mean Astera Jerky fixes all the bloody leaks and keeps your armor clean and dry!
Longsword still ruining things for everybody, even in World! Also 9:36 I see the Shaun of the Dead strategy of holding up in the pub and having a few pints until this all blows over is a valid approach!
I'm an insect glaive's user and whenever I'm fighting the behemoth with randoms, I tend to communicate with the Radial Menu. I also try to mount the behemoth after every attack he makes and hold onto him while the rest attack. When I'm low on stamina while still on him, I let them know to give me a refill. I have the Wide Range skill so I'm basically the healer and dish out attack boosts and defenses and the main one flashing him when he's casting charybdis. I tend to be a team player and communicate as much as possible as that is very important in this quest. If I screw up, I'd tell them that I messed up. I'll be honest. Fighting the behemoth is fun. Every time I fight it feels like my first encounter. By the way, this video is hilarious as it is informative. You've earned my subscribe. That Kirin video and AT Zora Magdaros was great as well. Well done.
the fuck? I watched your nergigante vid and I really liked it but I didn't know it was done by a fellow singaporean. and you got 400k subscribers too that's awesome! Edit: Whats more crazy is that I watched your first video on the channel "WE LIVE IN SINGAPURA MTV" when I was very young a long time ago. This is absolutely incredible
I really think tanking is a better option. At least behemoth will stay still and if the tanker is good, he can inflict quite a bit of damages apart from the dps team.
The regular Behemoth is fun, I can do this fight with 150 health and full DPS and expect to survive pretty much everything without a healer on the team. The extreme one doesn't work like that. It's not that much harder, the damage is bearable for me. Temporal mantle fireproof mantle take care of most of the damage. If you're a longsword hunter, definitely learn the evade attack (R2 + circle). You can use it to avoid all attacks except the ecliptic meteor. Even if you don't dodge perfectly, the damage you take is way lower and you deal damage at the same time and increase your spirit bar. 200 health and full DPS for the rest of the armor is pretty much all I need to stay alive. Now, if only the randoms would win the DPS race in phase 3 (ends with ecliptic if damage was not high enough, no ecliptic if damage was enough). Well, if we even get that far. It happens frequently that people don't even make it past phase 1. For the extreme one, keep in mind that there are three ecliptic meteors in the final phase. Also keep in mind that you should never, NEVER tank the extreme Behemoth if you're not good at it. You need to be able to survive even if the healer on the team doesn't care. Feel free to throw a flash bomb or just leave the quest if the healer and the others don't do what they're supposed to do. Its not worth wasting your time and items on a lost cause/a bad team. For the rest of the team: Don't forget lifepowder, you can kinda compensate for a lazy healer and the heal is faster than a mega potion. Also, if the others are too bad, just leave the quest, it really isn't worth it. Do not fight close to the comets, don't stay too far away. There are two comets in phase 1, one comet in phase 2, none in phase 3 (DPS race) and one per ecliptic in phase 4. Learn the jump, you may need it if some genius manages to get the comets destroyed or the Behemoth is just an asshole (happens a lot). Do not place bombs near comets. You can destroy them as well. Charybdis is a major problem in the last phase, get it over with as fast as you can.
Like your comment but you forgot something phase 1 can be passed in about 2-3mins. If you sleep boulder 2x 10k damage that means that after that you just need about 1.5-2k more damage then ecliptic meteor and phase 2. It's harder to lure if there's more than one person in that area. so it's better if people stay at camp until the Sleep Gunner sleep Boulders 2x BY HIMSELF then calls in the other hunters from base once after phase 1 head back to base to change your set. And no other status til phase 4 including mount. If everyone did this including the other already mentioned tips extreme behemoth would pretty much be a piece of cake.😎
Meaning sleep boulder, then everyone places bombs and leaves again is second phase. And agreed on the status. This fight really sucks with randoms. Anyone wants to team up? I can go melee DPS, support, or HBG Cluster (don't like HBG, I'm not that good) and status DPS or status support in last phase in addition to the other roles.
Then bazelgeuse crashes into the party.... (If only he made an cameo appearance that'll be great) but I love this Do's and Don'ts for fighting the new bad boy, The Behemoth
I'm gonna cry, after a year and the release of a new MH game, NCH has FINALLY ASSEMBLED THE MHW CREW. BetaGuy(Player 2?), WigglerMan, NotGenji, and TankGuy. But the squad goes deeper with Player 1,3, 4 from the Beta, DBRath, and HammerBro. Haven't seen Salt, Pepper, Thicc, or Locke since before the beta, hope they got the game. Also using that LifeAlert commercial as a meme....Boi.
@@smartguyjaja You mean cheryl, Sir Bibit, weston, boon, and Mittens? Who knows, with the theme of this video plus a Valfalk reveal as well, they may be reused assest after a couple of months. Winter special anyone?
From someone who lost to behemoth pleanty of times I have some tips. He has 4 phases, phase 1 is introduction, phase 2 is getting used to his tornado and melee combo, phase 3 he doesn't do tornado at all and will now perform bleeding damage move with his horn (do avoid it as he does show when he is about to do it) and he will at most drop 4 comets, finally phase 4 is the roughest (rougher depending on location) he will perform 2 heavy moves in combo on top of each other so be extremely carful around him and be sure to stop his tornados if you are at crystal location and try not to be shoved against a wall when fighting him so you wont be 2 shot. Another thing is with phase 4 is he drops 2 comets and will die after his nuke so focus on avoiding that at all costs when it comes down to it also he is extremely open to staggers and other aliments in phase 4 from what I have saw, abuse sleep, paraylze and stagger or mount as much as you can to avoid any more move spam from him in phase 4. Final note don't play the hero, please pay attention to him at all times and come prepared with all the items and cut off that tail asap, I love this monster but I also hate this monster with a burning passion. EDIT: I forgot to mention Bombing! I suggest bombing him whenever he is knocked over (mounting or bonks) only in phase 1 and 2, for phases 3 and 4 he gets up faster so unless you are fast at it and predicting it then don't go for it. You can also make him run into the bombs, when he is paralyzed you should bomb him too, and of course when he is asleep (always). Please be mindful when behemoth is sleeping and watch your attacks, if you must treat each new phase by going back to the closest camp to be fully prepared each time.
ACTUALLY, I suggest taking that horn hit, and healing the bleed damage on the move, as earning his enmity is GURANTEED after that that attack. Whoever he hits gains his enmity. I take the hit, toss on temporal, and heal up before wailing on his legs
My first Behemoth fight not only did I get locked out of the area by Charybdis and faint trying to get in but when I showed up at camp to respawn I got locked in by a meteor blocking the main door out. LOL
This is so fucking true, I had a great team, no one died and we got to stage 3 but I guess we didn't dps hard enough so Behemoth casted Ecliptic Meteor without even summoning a single comet...I felt so discouraged I haven't logged back in.
Joseph Murray. I hate to break it to you. But Behemoth Extreme doesn't summon comets on phase 3. You need to go ham and dps it so hard that it runs away instead on phase 3. on Phase 4 it will summon a comet (two if you're lucky), before casting ecliptic. I recommend making it fall asleep once at phase 3, bomb the shit out of it asap (because it regs really fast). Also, on phase 4, it's pretty much immune to all status effects. Good luck out there soldier. >:L
@@MangaManiac I figured it was one of the two scenarios, either deal enough damage to get him to drop the comets or force him to retreat but I didn't think it would be option two. Still bummed out we did so well then got wiped there.
Try cluster for dps, I was the only one dealing damage in my team so I guess I did close to 60 to 75% of it all, the rest was a tank who was stuck getting hit with the aggro, a HH who buffed us and a SnS healer.
this was more informative than any video i have ever watched, animation explanations are KING!!! Also, could not stop laughing at literally everything happening here, excellent work

Capcom should create an in-game barrier that makes it mandatory to watch this video before any hunter is even allowed to join a Behemoth quest. Probably should include a written test, too. Just to be sure everybody understood what's going on.
Especially those who think they can tank the cyclone spell.
Plus it should be
all they need to do is add a Role system to matchmaking... just put people in roles based on their weapon and skills..... or have it where players can pick a role before heading into the quest. just to let everyone on the team know if they have all the roles they need. theres MANY ways to improve the matchmaking for this quest, but i doubt they put in the effort to implement something like that.

fromeggman It really is.

im about to give up on Tanking with randos........ im about to just switch to healer from now on. im so tired of trying to Tank without a healer..... but watch. as soon as i switch, there wont be any Tanks joining........ i just bet on it.
with chinese randoms you can do anything, they're really smart
Behemoth is also easy to predict if you can distinguish between his behaviors in each phase. (No clue how extreme acts compared to normal so this is what normal behemoth is like)
Stage 1 is simple, his meteor is easy to escape and wind can be easily managed without flashing him.
@@TheTriforceDragon I had no idea that was what decided where he went after his first Ecliptic. Very nice to know!

One thing that must be warned. The wonderful disconnections from hunters when they just give up.

I know that because I'm LS main.
I really think tanking is a better option. At least behemoth will stay still and if the tanker is good, he can inflict quite a bit of damages apart from the dps team.
6:53 😂 That's worth an instant sub. Thanks for the laughs, even though this fight is stressful as hell.
Behemoth looks like he's wearing glasses.
Makes him seem like a raging nerd on a rampage, lol.
Make that a REALLY buff raging nerd on a rampage
Don't mess with us nerds,we will use our meteors on you
LOL, that Valstrax joke was the best ever
Dude it made the big meteor in phase 3 to me
Also carry sunfish scales and greater sunfish scales. They are basically potions and mega potions that heal instantly
Allesandro, that means your group failed to deal enough damage.
Oh my god I had no idea we could be at the canteen and survive Ecliptic Meteor! xD
If you're still in the tent when he uses it yeah but outside it sometimes you can die

@@williammitchell2046 I have seen his rage mode not turn on sometimes with it so its a give or take but I do agree just don't do it unprepared.
Sitting at the table: the "Popping down to the Winchester, having a pint and waiting for it to all blow over." Tactic, eh? Classic.
I felt depress and this made me feel better
Me too I still can't beat ex behemoth. :c
2:27 omg that had me crackin upn a while
I been waiting for this...the time is finally here.
Also so many memes and reference, gotta find them all!
5:45 I watched this so many times, but I only just now noticed you quietly snuck the classic Ed Edd and Eddy sound effect. You freaking genius
My first Behemoth fight not only did I get locked out of the area by Charybdis and faint trying to get in but when I showed up at camp to respawn I got locked in by a meteor blocking the main door out. LOL
I can't speak English but this movie is very interesting!!!!! I love this channel

That was just the tutorial level !
That’s EXTREME behemoth over there !
"What's up Chumps?"
"OH GOD HELP US!"
"GOD CAN'T HELP YOU NOW!!!"
I'm flattered to be in your Behemoth video as the Stereotypical Tank. Uragaan Armor set with the Elder Babel Spear is my jam.

Nergigante 2: Electric Shindeiru.
This is both extremely entertaining AND helpful, thank you very much NCHProduction!
I... honestly didn’t expect the meteor to be the Kenshiro meme this time around. I’m not sure what I was expecting.
Dang man, you’re really improving! This seriously must’ve taken a lot of work for something this big. I loved the Charybdis shots most of all, that glow affect was neato.

The first few times I watched this I was too mesmerized by the animation. The second time I am actually listening to the advice.
