- In the years since Lenny's Bruce's death there have been dozens of books, albums, articles, and family arguments about them. Certainly the best known movie is the recent film with Dustin Hoffman. It's a great movie with fine acting but it's still not the real thing. But there is film around with some very exiting footage of Lenny Bruce talking, performing, and just being himself. It's made by writer/producer Fred Baker who know Lenny Bruce. While so many others have tried to exploit the Bruce legend, Baker and his wife have tried hard to make an honest film. Take a look at a segment of it.

Hi Flailfist Jr. We are kindred spirits- I agree with your summation on the hypocritical "folks" who crucified a man, a comic, would-be screen writer, - how I wish we had those stories- Are you a stand up comic? Isn't it so typical of the masses, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel- the popularity of that show, how they deem handsome, talented, Luke Kirby- he excellent as Lenny- got his mannerisms down pat- witness the foul mouth, hilarious cracks made by the mainstay of the show for me- anyway- not Midge- SUSIE- what comes out of her mouth and what's implicit! Nothing like a frigging hypocrite huh?! People, people with money often, the bourgeoisie not just beatniks PAID to sit in Carnegie Hall ( check out THOSE a'holes, the so-called, "robber barons- how they made their billions sickens MY sense of justice, morality! Depends on point of view huh? Lenny Bruce never owned a slave, didn't have a maid- ah crap- I am meandering because I'm angry!) He was before my time but people/comics I treasure can say what they want because in part of sacrificial lamb, Lenny Bruce- I am not in the best health and yes, I am in rehab for getting hooked on society endorsed, doctor recommended, Tylenol 1's- as many as 22 per day, so I could cope with our -ucked up world with it's labeling, disenfranchisement, inequities etc- well I hope I don't have to face The Big Chill, but if I do, I sure hope I can sit at The Lenny Bruce Comedy, Burlesque, Folk Club ( another "Leonard" I adore is up there too, L. Cohen)
