I'm at 53 year old guy. Seeing Carol Burnett Really takes me back to a simple, wonderful time. My mom, dad, and sister would all gather around the tv in our modest, 70s style living room and laugh together and have the best time. Mom would even allow us to eat some snacks in the living room those nights, which was rarely allowed because of fear of a spill. ha Life was simple and good. I don't think families do much of anything like that now.
It was my favorite night of the week. The line-up was amazing! The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Bob Newhart and The Carol Burnett Show. SO cozy and fun. Some of my favorite childhood memories.
When did the world become like this. Why has it evolved to the way it is. I believe it is because of the innate human fear of our beliefs, choices & decisions being compromised, marginalized or ridiculed. Human nature relies so much on complete individual acceptance in one form or another so is such the mutual reliance on love for personal confidence could it be that this is the central fault of humanity instead of being comfortable with one:s inner self or mind, maybe a higher power of whatever sort. We look to the people around us for this accountability of the soul which is what religion is personified. When true artistry is not even really pure anymore and the illusion of life is perpetuated by all the nonsense proliferated by nothing but that's all there is. What can be done about it. Guessing what matters is what mankind is striving for and the struggle never end's until death is outlived is that crazy who's to say folks.
I wish i could one night of my mum dad n siblings round the TV, dad n mum n us laughing together, mum n dad both passed now, n family scattered n divided, but i carry that distant beautiful happier memory forever in my soul space. 😔💕🌌
I worked with Ms. Burnett when she was the first guest star on Dick Van Dyke’s short lived variety show. This woman was a complete pro. Came to the table read having made notes in the script the night before. She learned all the names of the crew on the first day, and addressed every one by their name. On time, never grumpy, she had a sense of joy about the work. No wonder the below the line peole loved her. She made the work play.
Saw the old people sketch on Van Dyke recently where Dick threw an improvised punch into Carol’s stomach..& then it became a great free for all. Could tell there was no studio audience but could hear the crew cracking up watching what was unfolding in front of them.
I love Carol Burnett. I read a story about her where she was in a restaurant with friends and some people reported that she was "drunk in public." Carol was not drunk and she sued the newspaper that reported this and she won the case and donated the money to a charity. Good for Carol!
That article stung her terribly. Her parents were both alcoholics, and she was pretty much raised by her grandmother. She swore from a young age that she would never behave that way. So when the Enquirer came out with that hit job, she came at them with all she had. Good on her!
@@weedermann I don't know her personally, however, she seems to be genuine. People who have met her & other celebs, have said the same. No different than James Gandolfini, albeit, he played a mobster, there was something genuine & likeable about him. RIP. One don't last long if they're difficult to work with. That rule applies to everyone. 😉😊
See Joan Rivers' interview on the Dick Cavett show. That's a funny woman compared to this drab. (Carol & her had a bitter rivalry). Throwing mud at various people she didn't like then pleading the 5th while the cameras were rolling is not classy
Celebrities NEVER say anything bad about other celebrities - at least not the old school ones. I recently worked with a very famous older actress on a show and we became chummy, and although the other star was the most obnoxious and mentally sick no-talent on the face of the earth, the actress would never say anything bad about her. She didn't even really know her, but she would make happy excuses for her awful behavior when I moaned about it to her. Later, when she got to know me and trusted me, she told me that she HATED this actor and wanted to run her over with her car in the parking lot at Warner Brothers. The only time I have ever seen a big star dish another star was when Bette Davis laced into Faye Dunaway. In fact, the industry was shocked that Bette did that.
In 1984 I worked at the Great Earth Vitamin store in Westwood Calif when Carol Burnett walked in to buy vitamins for her daughter. Just like everyone else reports she was kind and gracious. I did not make a fuss over her just treated her like I would any other person- with kindness and graciousness. She was so awesome.
A dear friend of mine, who has long since passed, knew Carol when they were teenagers. They were both ushers at one of the movie houses on Hollywood Blvd. Carol was a loyal friend, and remembered where she came from. Carol never looked down at anyone...........not ever. Classy as they come. We love you, Carol!
Carol Burnett pointed this out to Dick Cavett in an earlier appearance with him that included Lucille Ball and Lucie Arnaz. I thought it was sweet of her to mention that to Dick when she was growing up.
Oh I hate that ditty, sorry, I just do. Then she tugs her ear lobe for her grandma. Sometimes on a skit with famous guests Ms Burnett, will play her part far into beyond even slightly funny. I know I probably stand alone with this opinion I do have the right to differ, yes?
@@melissagregoire9278 - Awe! I liked that part of her show as a kid! I thought it was endearing, kind, and thoughtful. It made her seem human instead of a “Star.” 🤣
In the show's seventh season, Carol Burnett fired Harvey Korman. That week, Tim Conway (who was not yet a permanent cast member) and Petula Clark were the guests and Korman was being downright rude to them (along with everyone else in the cast). Burnett does not like to be confrontational, but she realized she had to do something. After rehearsal, she went to Korman's dressing room to talk to him... he told her to mind her own business and said she couldn't dictate to him how he feels at any given moment. She tried to remind him that, since her name was the top one on their production, it was indeed, VERY MUCH her business, but Korman simply backed her out of his dressing room and shut the door in her face. Burnett then called Korman's agent and told him that, after filming tonight, Korman would no longer be working on The Carol Burnett Show. After they finished filming that evening, Burnett paid him another visit to give him the news personally. Korman asked what he could do to make amends. Burnett told him that, _"Come Monday, I want to see you cheerful. And not just on Monday, I want to see it every day of the week. We all have moods, but we don’t bring them to work. … In fact, it would tickle me pink to see you skipping around and hear you whistling in the hall!"_ The following Monday, Korman ran into Burnett at the elevator (he was getting off and she was getting on). Burnett said it was a pretty awkward moment in silence as they stared at each other but, in his uproarious style, Korman then took off, smiling, dancing, skipping and whistling down the hall, which had Burnett almost literally rolling on the floor with laughter. From that moment on, Korman became, and remained, the most upbeat actor on the show. And he was very grateful to Burnett for being both a good enough friend to point his attitude problem out to him, and for being a good enough boss to give him a second chance.
@V8 fool -- Is it that you somehow doubted me, or is it shocking that someone told a true story... on UA-cam? I'm kidding, of course. It's a rhetorical question. I simply wanted to make that jab at UA-cam.
@@antoniod I’ve seen many documentaries and interviews that Danny Kaye was an asshole. I told my mom about it (who is 72 and watched him growing up) and she said “I can’t see that, he’s a nice, funny guy”. Yea mom, on screen. It’s called acting.
@@janettripper3132 Any celeb with any marquee value should be able to sell 3,600 seats in Chicago ... it's a huge city. Unfortunately, most people 40 and under likely don't have a clue who she is. I mentioned Burt Reynolds to a group of mid-30-year-olds the other day .... they had no idea who he was.
Sometimes I cringed at some of the questions people would ask her. Her age was certainly one of them and sometimes questions about her children which it seemed to make her a bit uncomfortable and I don't blame her. She was just protective and not wanting to reveal too much about them.
@@irisheyzgrl24murphy92 Yes! There is a difference between asking questions that are career related and asking very personal questions. Questions about her age border on stupid - it does not take much effort to find a celebrity's age!
She was always smarmy with her fans who received the short end of the stick with her blatantly obvious insecurities. Treating people like that is a defense mechanism
My sister was a receptionist at company that had many celebrities for clients. The employees were all told NOT to make a fuss and gush over the celebrities, but just be polite, of they would get fired. One day my sister was showing another receptionist how the light meter in her camera worked (this was before digital cameras). She pointed the camera at the elevator because it was well-lit. The elevator doors opened, and there was Carol Burnett, and my sister is pointing a camera right at her. Carol got really hammy and started posing for the camera. My sister was so upset that she might get fired and started apologizing. Carol said don't worry, she's not upset. My sister said Carol was so nice and friendly.
This tells me first hand what a kind, great person Carol is. She has compassion for the little guy because she was there also. Love her look at show business being fun and adult playtime. She is the best.
MOST actors were "the little guy" once. Not everyone grew out of a showbiz family. MOST did not. It is almost an impossible industry to get into and stay in. NO ONE got in without hard work, and no one stays in without it.
@@purselmer5931 That is absolutely untrue and unfair. Have you ever known any celebrities? I have. NOT the way you described them. Kar-trash-ians and people like them are famous for marketing themselves, but have no talent for anything but getting their names splashed across the headlines. ACTORS have to have talent. MOST actors are grateful for their work, and hard work got them to "celebrity" status, but they are there because they love the WORK.
@@swarzeoz2550 Funny, I thought "celebrities" were there now to tell all of us plebians how to think about every issue in the world and snub their noses at us. And I completely agree w/you about the Kardashians (whom I've never watched) but have seen enough of them just through the sound bites and trailers I've seen. Ugh.
I was visiting a friend who worked at the Burbank Studios in 1982 when the movie "Annie" was being filmed there, and of course, Carol Burnett was one of the principal stars of that film. My friend gave me a tour of the back lot and then we walked through a couple of the sound stages where films and television shows were in active production. He took me into the stage that housed the set for the house used in "Annie" and as we were walking out, here comes Carol, walking right towards me, in full makeup and costume for her role, and as she walked by, I said "hi Carol" and she gave me the biggest smile I could imagine. And funny, as we walked out the stage door, I noticed an old fellow seemingly half-asleep in a director's chair, and I finally realized after we left that it was John Huston.
@@joshuaisaacmayes would you put ur feet up on someone’s table (? ) especially being she was on tv. It’s rude and arrogant. I love Carol, she is beyond talented. I am a huge fan, I just think it’s wrong to put your feet up on a table it’s not a foot ottoman. No biggie
@@bryceharper446 it was that era. They were trying to be "hip", super casual. The Carol Burnett Show was one of the best shows ever. I laughed so hard at that show as a kid. We never missed it. DIfferent kind of comedy but on par with Monty Pythons Flying Circus. Comedy Genius.
I met Carol Burnett at the Beverly Hilton Nov 4th 1977 At Lucy's 25th Anniversary at the Friar's club. She was carrying Flowers, I took her photo, she gave me a big smile.
I saw Carol Burnett at a local theater here in 2017. She did a Q&A like on her show. I remember at one point she asked if someone could bring her a chair. She asked the stage hand his name and thanked him and had him turn so the audience could see his face. She was so humble in her answers to questions too, always sharing credit with others or sometimes giving others all the credit.
According to stories by several people (including Carol Burnett), for a while during her variety show Harvey Korman was the kind of person she and Dick were talking about that they despised. He only changed when Carol told him on a Friday that he would be fired on Monday if he didn't come back as a "changed person." He got the message.
That was the best show on TV, it truly was an icon even to today's standards, they don't make comedy like that and I never seen so many people almost break their character laughing at Tim Conway. 🤣
How can you not just LOVE Carol Burnett. Not only is she a talented actress (comedy or drama) and she can sing but she is also brilliant. It goes to show that it takes brains to be funny. She’s seem just so sweet and wonderful, but also down-to-Earth. ❤️
4:00 Carol says "They (abusive star performers) would be that way in any kind of job." TRUE. In every profession there exists arrogant, abusive, cruel, narcissistic meanies who treat others like dirt.
@@bonnienadinenewman I couldn’t find it by name but checked out your channel; some nice swinging stuff there. What’s the name of the Carol cover, I’ll give it a whirl.
Lucille Ball had this in common with Carol; she was the funniest woman on the planet and savvy. Smart. An astounding businesswoman. Cared for “underlings.” These women are the last of a dying breed. Carol is a good listener; she doesn’t prattle on and on herself, bulldozing the interviewer; she actually is quiet when Dick talks then answers thoughtfully. I love her.
~~ Lucy had a few TV series after 'I Love Lucy' - in one she did in the late 60's - she would often have famous guest stars - but Lucy expected full professionalism from them - she expected them to know their lines and be ready to work - so when Joan Crawford did an episode - (she had long been known as a big drinker) - she was so unprepared Lucy nearly fired her - but the show was taped & aired. Richard Burton - also a BIG drinker - was so resentful after his experience on her show he was later quoted as saying; "I LOATHE Lucy".
I love that Carol recognizes that the entertainment industry is just fun... play acting... it isn't rocket science, nor is it necessary for survival as a species. As a retired RN who faced life and death decisions on a daily basis for 40+ years, I appreciate her attitude & honesty!
I would entirely disagree with your ignorant assessment that entertainment (and therefore the industry that creates it) isn't necessary. And BILLIONS would agree with me.
It was titled Went With the Wind. Funnily enough, there was an episode of the Marlo Thomas show "That Girl" titled Gone With the Breeze. But Carol's amazing parody was Went With the Wind.
That was Cavett's great skill as a talk show host. He asked a different sort of question than the others did. His were more open-ended, drawing out his guests, rather than letting them slide by with their public personae. Many bios of celebrities of that time period reference information elicited on Cavett's show. And Lord have mercy, whatta brain. Even the people who hated him (and I can't think of any offhand) would probably have given him credit for having a top-notch mind.
@@haplessasshole9615 You need to watch the Roman Polanski interview. It was shortly after Sharon's death, about 1 and half years. Roman did most of the talking with Dick asking minimal and relevant questions that were respectful as well. Also, Roman's childhood was brought up with subtle and respectful politeness. Dick Cavett, a class act all the way. Do not make em like him at all anymore. Not even close. Also the Jim Brown & Lester Maddox debate with guest star Truman Capote. A classic episode from 1970. And RFK's death, right after with several guests, including Robert Vaughn.
Most of the time, I would say, Dick books really interesting people, and he knows some of their most interesting stories/opinions... so he says something that he knows will get them to tell their stories/opinions. His talk show was the best... ...kind of like Carol says in this video, most of the people in U.S. entertainment are really boring because they don't want to take risks. So they have nothing interesting to say on current talk shows, so current hosts do most of the talking
Found this accidentally, watched it. I was so happy to listen to her again. Watched her as a child. I'm so glad we had that time together. (and there's the pun - as I pull on my left ear lobe). Carol, Harvey, Tim, and eventually Vicky - great skits, wholesome comedy, and good music with their guests. Those were the days.
That's why I like the Jiminy Glick interview parodies (played by comedian Martin Short). These are the perfect satires of the interviewre as a complete a***ole.
try Graham Norton, he generally let the guests do the talking after feeding them wine. Sometimes he throws something in to stoke the fire but not in an intrusive manner.
Yes, and that the interviews are so produced. They aren't organic anymore. While maybe here Carol knew a little what she was going to be asked, the interview is still allowed to breathe. And now, you can't even rely on anything a star says. They will say whatever to get you to buy that cd or that ticket or that book.
My mom and sisters would always watch the Carol Burnett show and we’d be laughing our heads off. Always funny, clean entertainment. Thanks for all the laughs, Carol. 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🤣🤣🤣
My dad would come home from a tough day of work and he would make the largest laughing sounds every week watching Carol Burnett brilliantly entertain on her variety show. I'm sure she did that for millions of others as well. She is simply a living legend!
I love how relaxed and free she is. We didn't get The Carol Burnett show in the UK but i really wish we had as i can see why people idolise her after watching clips of he show
I love Carol Burnett! Classy, beautiful, talented, and absolutely hilarious! The opening to The Carol Burnett Show was so exciting, my mom and I couldn’t wait to see her beautiful gowns and how her was styled and knew that she was would have us giggling when interacting with the audience. wow, a real person. Carol Burnett is the most real person anyone could be lucky enough to meet. I have always loved her acting and everything about her. And she sings beautifully as well.
@Just My Opinion I felt that Carol had more range than Lucy. Lucy kept portraying the same form of comedy that she did since I Love Lucy. Still, they both had a long lasting friendship. We should be thankful that Carol was nice and humble and allowed other stars like Lucy to be on her show.
I met Tim Conway in 1997 and he was such a delightful witty man. It was funny that not many people make me nervous/star struck but Tim Conway was one of the few that made me feel as if I had two left feet. 💜😊👍
Carol burnett is an inspiration to all folks who get too big of an ego. Like my sainted grandma would say if u haven't anything nice to say don't say anything at all. Loved her interview with cavett. I can just picture Harvey korman whistling and skipping down the hallway after Carol giving him another chance. What a beautiful human being she truly is.
Getting out of the way of one's guests is what is missing with talk show hosts these days. For example, if you watch Rodney Dangerfield on Johnny Carson, Carson becomes the consumate straight man ( second fiddle in comedy terms) and let's Rodney shine in his moment on the show. The whole show was better for it.
I don’t believe he is under rated. In the business he has recognized as a intelligent comic genius, thoughtful and respectful of his guests whom he makes comfortable enough to share with him openly.👍❤️
It's refreshing how she put the work she does (show business) in perspective, saying that a lot of celebrities take it too personally.... down to earth lady!
This content is comfort food, for me. I never watched Dick Cavett, while it was on the air -- I just grumbled as I tried to ignore it. Rediscovering these shows, I've come to appreciate their discussions for the sober yet lighthearted perspective that they bring on recent times.
@@Melinda8162 I wasn't around when this show aired, but thanks to the wonders of UA-cam, I'm getting my fill. It's so much more interesting to hear proper conversations about things with talented people rather than the dross we have to witness these days.
Anyone who's ever seen the Moon Over Buffalo documentary knows what an incredible, consummate PROFESSIONAL Carol Burnett is - criticised by a clueless theatre director who tries to tell her how to get laughs, Burnett walks away with the show on opening night in an otherwise mediocre Broadway production. Imagine telling Carol Burnett how to be funny.
One single sketch from the Carol Burnett Show is a complete seminar on how to be funny. That's an amazing story, and now I feel the need to look up Moon Over Buffalo. So thanks for the recommendation. I do love documentaries anyway.
Having watched the documentary now, I have to comment that the director, while possessed of a rather overinflated ego, was not trying to tell Carol Burnett how to be funny. He was working with her to make the pace and the timing of the jokes work better, which is what a collaborative theater project is supposed to be. All throughout the rehearsal/rewrite period, everyone - cast, director, and the extremely neurotic writer - worked together to improve the show. The director was working to find the best ways to highlight the comedic talents of Carol Burnett and Philip Bosco.
I love and respect her so much! I really loved her shows during their original Saturday night run. She has amazing strength too. We’re both Angel Moms makes her even more special 💕
Among all the other well-deserved compliments Ms. Burnett gets in these comments, I would add that she comes across as very thankful to be in show business. As she says, to be able to play, and make believe.
I love both of these people. I've only had glimpses of them through their work, and through interviews, and was an avid watcher and fan of The Carol Burnett Show and loved it so much. She spent her life......... entertaining us. And Dick spent his career...... enlightening us. I have immense love and respect for both of them and they have shown themselves to be VERY genuine decent human beings who have lived their lives with dignity and class, showing much respect for others as well as compassion. I think what they have shown the world of themselves speaks very highly of their character and values, and certainly, those values were exhibited here in their disdain of people in show business whose ego's have turned them into sadistic tyrants. Bravo you two. You took the high road and though that road is often lonelier and less traveled, it is the one with the greatest view and the best company in the end. Much love to them both.
She's one of the most talented comedians that ever lived imo, and to be so, I think you have to have a grasp on the concepts she talked about. So right. 💗✨
I have always admired and loved her. This interview proved just proved that she is not only a most talented person, but a truly admirable person as well.
Spoken like the true professional she is. At one time I was doing stand-up comedy and let me tell you, some comedians who have a likeable stage persona, are flat out bastards off the stage. I experienced it several times until it finally sunk in that the entire business is make believe. Forget images and personas, that's only their act and they're good at faking sincerity.
Weirdly, some of the stand-up comedians specializing in insult comedy struck me as the nicest of people to meet in person if you had the chance. Jeff Ross going out of his way to perform for people in jail to provide some relief for them, for example, but I suspect Don Rickles was a great guy from some interviews I've seen.
@@fleeb👍 Most definitely there are comedians who specialize in insult comedy who are very nice people, and quite benevolent. Like I said it's an act. It's a business of make believe.

She grew up on a painful environment too.
Oh well she was a carpet cleaner.

In 1984 I worked at the Great Earth Vitamin store in Westwood Calif when Carol Burnett walked in to buy vitamins for her daughter. Just like everyone else reports she was kind and gracious. @@melissagregoire9278 You didn't like the song or you did not like the show?
… In fact, it would tickle me pink to see you skipping around and hear you whistling in the hall!"_
The following Monday, Korman ran into Burnett at the elevator (he was getting off and she was getting on).
I'm surprised to hear that, as Korman had once had to put up with Danny Kaye.
Thank you

@@irisheyzgrl24murphy92 Yes! There is a difference between asking questions that are career related and asking very personal questions. Questions about her age border on stupid - it does not take much effort to find a celebrity's age!

That was Cavett's great skill as a talk show host. He asked a different sort of question than the others did. One single sketch from the Carol Burnett Show is a complete seminar on how to be funny. That's an amazing story, and now I feel the need to look up Moon Over Buffalo. So thanks for the recommendation. I do love documentaries anyway.
I must see this!
The documentary is called 'Moon over Broadway.' It documents the play 'Moon over Buffalo' that Carol Burnett was in.

Bravo you two. You took the high road and though that road is often lonelier and less traveled, it is the one with the greatest view and the best company in the end. Much love to them both.

I saw an interview with Carol Burnett on how she and Lucille Ball were very good frienda and how Lucy would send Carol a dozen roses every year for her birthday. As it turned out, Lucy died on Carol's birthday, and later on that day a dozen roses arrived for her. Broke my heart.
Very sad indeed. I'm glad that Carol Burnett loved and enjoyed working with Lucy especially after her divorce from Desi Arnaz. Finally decided to watch the Carol Burnett Show around 15 - 20 years ago, and it was every bit as funny and entertaining as people said it was. One of the best.
I met Dick Cavett in New Orleans, nicest man treated me much better than I deserved at the time.
Carol Burnett is an absolute treasure. I loved her show when I was a kid. It was good fun for the whole family.
Loved watching her and the boys and Vicki as a youth. I so connect with her sense of humor.
You'd have to be a major a-hole to get on Carol's nerves. She seems so down to Earth.
True
I don't see her as overly tolefant.
I could do IT
Vicki Lawrence really rips CB in her book.
@@tjames9698 How so? What did she say? It was CB who gave Lawrence her big break by bringing her on her (Carol's) show.
Keep on truckin', Carol!
- a common '70s expression you don't hear too much today.
@Bill Ferrero haha yep!
I am from that time; I don't hear that expression at all these days.
Just as you rarely hear Groovy, generation gap, future Shock, far out, hang loose, hassle, what a drag, anti-establishment, stick it to the man..... etc.
@@brainsareus groovy is making a comeback! and hassle and what a drag never left us.
... and you can bet your sweet bippie on that!!
@@brainsareus I have not smoked weed since it became legal in Illinois, because I am not sticking it to The Man anymore!
@@Marcel_Audubon OH!! Let's bring back "bet your sweet bippie"!
We love you Carol!!!! Thanks for the laughter!! I was a young kid when your show was on but remember family night and watching your show!! Miss those days!!
Loved Carol, and her, cast she had, and her infectious laugh. The real deal.
Love Carol Burnett. One of the sweethearts of legendary television, and all around good actress. No scandal or baggage with her.
I absolutely LOVE Carol at 3:27 ! I wanted to ask the very same thing in that moment. Too much focus on the negatives here. And her energy was so very positive.
I loved the opening where she took questions. I remember guys asking to give her a kiss or get one from her. Those were priceless. She was so quick and witty, truly a classy and Nice Lady. I know she's had some tough times, may God Bless her and help her through it. You made the World smile Dear Lady, Thank You!
Went With the Wind! "I saw it in the window and just had to have it!" I LMAO! Beyond brilliant. Beautiful. Thank you!
I’ll always love you Carol Burnett, you were one of the best highlights of my life as a child❤️
I was too young to appreciate him at the time, but now I do. Incredibly skillful at getting people to open up from deep within.
I can't imagine Jimmy Fallon or Kimmel ever calling people in the business "swinish louts" lmao. The 70's were so fun.
Big talents those two lads.....NOT
Today's audience of semi-literates would have no idea what "swinish louts" even means.
I could see Conan talking about 'swinish louts' without naming names lol.
@@PurpleMintSam That's lame on so many levels.. If they're talking about pigs they must mean a Jewish person? It would be funny that you're that much of a swinish lout and so completely uncomprehending, but in this day and age it's not funny. Not funny at all.
@@PurpleMintSam I'm from the 70s and that is the most totally weird take on "swinish louts" I've ever heard. "Swinish louts" has nothing to do with racism, it's just a term to criticize somebody for being what today would be known as an asshole. An egotistical, self-absorbed jerk. Of any race, creed, or colour whatsoever. (Oh, and I'm Jewish too.)
Never heard of her a year ago, but I can't get enough of her now.
Wow, you must be young.
@@BleedBNG 38. But British.
@@Revelian1982 Her show was the last variety show on TV. Her show went out still in the top ratings I believe. I remember watching the last show in 1978.
Did you see the dentist skit?
@@mem1701movies Yes and it was the first I think for Harvey and Tim....hilarious isn't the word . Their bust ups were what made that show.
Lucky to still have Miss Burrnett and all of her amazing talents.
Shes soo smart.... lovely talented woman...love her work and everything she is...
I love her. She has always been amazing. I love what she says about the business, and what she said about Robert Altman who has also been a personal favorite since I was a kid. Good to know he got the Carol seal of approval. ❤️
Whoever edits these videos please increase the general volume I have to max out my speakers on any video from this channel but I love the channel and enjoy everything on it
They can't do it because of toxic masculinity.
@@Revelian1982 You're joking, but this just might be very true!
@@jackclements2163 I know. I blame Twatter.
They blame Trump..
Except the commercials, which are 5x as loud.
OMG YES! SO MANY vids lately are unbearable because I can't hear a thing! And sub titles are no replacement.
As young boy watching on TV always made me laugh what a real sweet wonderful lady God bless her
I believe the movie she refers to in which she “stunk” was “ The Front Page”, and she does indeed flail around a lot. She was on a plane on which this movie was being shown and asked to make an announcement beforehand apologizing to her fellow passengers for her performance! That’s class.
Everyone gets how funny Ms. Burnett is. I can't get over how beautiful she is - and in the days of this interview, she is enchantingly beautiful. I grew up watching her and I am so glad I got to enjoy her craft for many, many years.
She is such amazing actress and beautiful classy lady too 💐👍💐👍💐
