funny how long it took us to figure this out. well, maybe not Olds Vista Cruiser wagons and Ford Pinto Cruisers. But they are about the only affordable musclecar bodies left....I had a 1975 Country Squire Pinto wagon, there was enough room for sleeping a relief driver on a 24 hr run down to FL. but you are correct, BIM, america has seen the station wagon (named after the horse cart that would bring people and their luggage home from the train station) as a tool, replaced in the 1980's by the minivan and later with the SUV.
@@MrSticks9999 a four door is great for bringing friends and family, and some of the 1950's stuff looks good even if you just lose the rear door handles--or better, it's a hardtop.
The comedic remarks back and forth between you two were great. Perfect build for effing around in. Could definitely tell you guys had a lot of fun with this one. Keep up the great work!
Lucky is one of my favorites on your channel. He builds cars that anyone can build. And you having him I’m sure inspires today’s car loving kids. They don’t see an unobtainable $250k build. They see a car they can work and build in a summer with summer job money and they see that car people, even big UA-cam people like you Shawn love it. Side note, imagine the normal people around seeing him do his shenanigans thinking “stupid kid” just to realize it’s an old man 😂😂
My boy and I met Lucky in Davenport on power tour in 2016. He’s an awesome guy. Took the time to talk to us as long as we wanted to talk. My boy was 6 at the time and lucky treated him like he was his own kid. GreAt guy, extremely talented builder
Oh dude! You are hanging with Lucky?!!!! I just started this video, and I am already excited! He has such an awesome sense of humor! I can't wait to get through this lol.
My Dad had the same car when I was a kid. Then we had a 67 marlin. I really remember the seat fabric was black and had this beautiful kind of Fleur de lis pattern. Funny what you remember.
@@gordocarbo yeah it's funny what you remember. I remember having this dinosaur kit where you put these square pieces of plastic in an iron and they transform into the dinosaur they had a very distinct smell. Also other toy smells.
Got to spend a few hours shooting the shit with Lucky at this shop back in 2019 during my visit from Australia. He is such a cool guy and had us in stitches the whole time. Still rock the Mobiletech Lucky Hoodie I got that day as well.
Got the chance to meet the crew at fuel fest in LA this weekend and I have to say what a group of super down to earth guys. Did not disappoint. Made the whole trip worth it.
Putting Lucky in front of a camera usually triggers some sort of memorable "hold my beer/coffee/donut and watch this" incident. The sticker on the right side of the bumper says slow af, you can put one on the left side that says cool af and nobody would argue.
Love the ol' Fords, & that Coyote sounds sweet!! We have a fair few of our own classic Fords here in Australia, The Falcon XY GTHO phase 3 is pretty much the holy grail 🇭🇲
Very cool just watched Dalton from pole barn garage cobble one together with a 460 smogger recently I believe his is a 61 and for what it is it's in pretty awesome shape he's selling it after his road trip to the beach in Texas with his family because he doesn't trust the over 60 yr old stock front steering and suspension to make it back home
Lucky strikes again with this beauty. Nice of him to install decent drum brakes for you. 😂 I really dig the patina on this and hope he leaves it that way, just sprucing up the interior a bit. Great episode.
First time seeing this video, personally did not know how much time and preparation it takes to make a cover, I will always like your videos and shorts, much respect, MTC🤘🏻
Wow, not my mothers' car, my g-father gave my mother a 1963 exactly like this one. On the hood there was a bit of blue, it was all blue. My brother get it stuck on a muddy dirt road and went over a huge rock. We had to call a tow truck, and it ran without any problems. We called it Bertha the tank.
3900 pounds is probably about what my 5.3L Colorado weighs, and with probably about 400 hp (factory LH9 5.3 with forged 10.5:1 pistons, a Texas Speed stage 2 VCT truck cam, LS6 valvesprings, 93-octane Black Bear tune, and a 2600-stall converter ahead of a Monster street/strip 4L60, factory 4.10:1 rear with a Detroit Truetrac and Hummer H3 Alpha front differential) it's pretty shockingly quick even on 33"s. A Tremec TR6060 swap is in the works, but aside from that I wouldn't really want much more than that power to weight ratio for a street driver. 1,000 hp racecars are cool, but you can't have fun with them on the street safely and without fear of jail. This is one of the cooler cars you've had on here to me.
Bet ya it drives great with that RideTech suspension though, notice no wheel-hop during those burnouts. So a 6L80E behind a Coyote huh that’s interesting. Great seeing Lucky on your channel!
good thing about that car is yu can COMFORTABLY sleep in it, a decent mattress, a queen is tight a double twin is a lil narrow, if you use a queen air bed that's perfect it wilmold to everything, get the foam mattress top one, so comfy
Thank you for another cool ass video. Your subscriber from Los Angeles but watching from Hawaii. I saw this car in the driver a couple of weeks ago when I was in town in the city of Gardena. I’m not sure this is it, but I recognize this station wagon and last guys got me busting up laughing when he matches the pedal he has you busting at how much power this car has. Well thank you for this video. Can’t wait for the next one.🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Lucky Costa & Tony Angelo were Hot Rod Garage’s tag team comedian mechanics. Both are informative, entertaining and relatable. More Lucky !
More Lucky coming. This our 2nd with him (c10 was first) and soon we’ll be shooting his Chevelle. Legend!
100%. I really miss the magic of he and Tony. It was hilarious.
Something about wagons from this era, I just absolutely love them. It’s like a muscle car with extra utility

2 door wagons, absolutely. 4 doors . . meh
@@MrSticks9999 a four door is great for bringing friends and family, and some of the 1950's stuff looks good even if you just lose the rear door handles--or better, it's a hardtop.

@@MrSticks9999 true, and that's the secret sauce of a good cruise night...variety.
Lucky is always a hoot. His builds aren't flashy, but they are always fun. I need a car like that.
Nice seeing Coyote swaps sometimes opposed to the LS swaps🤟
Lucky is the man! Love his sense of humour!
He’s non stop funny

Revisit this one when he's finished it. As a surfer I'd love a hotrod like this. Love it. 😊

Perfect comparison!
The "I'm going home" comment after noticing the drum brakes was fantastic!!! Lucky is the best.
Love that guy! Non stop fun with him
Riding with Lucky is always a good time. Love his projects he’s just such a cool dude.
Dedication and down-to-earth approach make you a favorite. Congrats!
Nice...pic
LOVE THE WAGONS. This one is super cool. Looks old school with the new drivetrain that just runs. Be safe and stay well.
I love lucky’s work. Been watching him for a long time.
Cool ride Shawn , but the banter dialogue between you two is absolutely priceless !!
He’s so much fun to be around. With or without cameras going he never stops
“Look how quickly we all turn into a bunch of 16 year old kids, man!” Only “car” guys and gals get that. Love it!
Gotta love that car even now it's built better that today's cars
my favorite car guy in the TV media space
Lucky is such a funny and cool guy!👍 And cool car!!!
Lucky reminds me of nearly every person that raised me. Love and miss y'all.

Shawn, this was a great video. That wagon is sweet! It will be much nicer once he upgrades the brakes!
I’m honestly impressed with the coyote motor. I’ve a gen 1 in my pickup but I boost it running E-85.
What a great thing to see you both on screen! This car is perfect.
Thanks. It’s our 2nd one with him and next up is his Chevelle!
Love the fact that we are seeing 5.0 swaps more than l.S. lately
It’s the wicked bad ass “let’s take everyone along” Ride … amazing episode once again Shawn and crew !!!
Thank you! We had so much fun with Lucky
Definitely a fan of this type of build. A reliable driving car that looks its age is definitely dope to me. Dents and all.

Everything about the wagon is awesome…
Shaun, this is just my favorite car channel. Seriously. You always have something interesting. Way to go!
Watched all 3 Lucky videos in a row. I like the Squire the best even though the motor is stock. Wagons are the best.
I love how cover a whole range of builds from what I may be able to afford and up.

Another great video Shaun I grew up in the 60s so Fords were my thing the fiesta flash
GREAT BUILD LUCKY!!!! THE PERFECT DAILY DRIVER AND FAMILY HAULER!!!
