In the early 70's Subaru introduced the Suburb 360 car. Had the same engine as your van. At that time Subaru headquarters was located in Maple Shade NJ, (Located in Camden now). I was 16 years old. They had an Auto cross track set up out back and for a couple of bucks they would let you thrash these little cars around the course. Great fun. I don't even think we wore a helmet. Amazing what you could do in the seventies.
They came in 1968,my mom had a 1969 Subaru 360. I learned to drive in that car. My mom seized it in Bakersfield. Dad (and by extension 8 year old me) rebuilt it using Yamaha pistons and an Olympia beer 12 pack box for a base gasket.
I watched the tosh interview yesterday, and i don't watch tosh. However, where tony goes, i watch. Funnier than i expected. The box of shop "rags" was a hilarious.

Love these tiny cars. A friend of my father had an old Piaggo Ape, a little italian three wheeled transporter vehicle. I remember one time as kids, he took us for rides around the neighbourhood, going around corners on two wheels, kids flying around in the transport compartment when going over potholes. We had the time of our lives, screaming at the top of our lungs the entire time. Of course the fun was over, when our moms got wind of it and there were no rides in any of the vehicles for a long time.

In Australia, we used to get the cylinders relined with stainless steel and the oily brake shoes. We would soak in petrol and then burn off a few times.
So good to see the both of you guys working together again, it's been a while. This little gem kind of reminds me about one of my families first brand new vehicles when I was a kid, a 1965 "Tempo Viking" mini bus, it had a 3 cylinder 2 stroke engine under the front seat.
I have a ton of pictures of this thing at the dealer in SLC from 14 years ago! So cool you guys are bringing it back, so hard to find a remotely good 360 these days
