It's not just Onlyfans.... It's a culture that's okay with it and even encourages it... I don't think people realize the precedent that sets for their children and the generations to come. I cannot imagine what future generations are going to say when they talk about this era. Jesus.....
I think this critique on the current culture could be applied to many things that are currently in the cultural zeitgeist. In fact this sort of negative critique on culture is quite common and occurs every generation. We’ll simply be remembered as any other generation. In the grand scheme of things we’re not that special, we all just have recency bias. Society will adapt, changes in laws will be made, and general attitudes will change. It’s an inevitable cycle.
@@Mira.s.arcadia thanks! I just notice we tend to over sensationalize current societal and cultural trends, forgetting that major societal shifts happen all the time and it’s normal. We’ll survive lol. People shaking ass on camera for money is hardly the cultural panic some say it is.
Effects on women: mess up their social life (short and long term) Effects on men: mess up the way interact with women Effects on both: view *EVERY* relationship as transactional *feel free to add to the list*
Another effect on men: changes their brain chemistry. P*rn has been shown to have extremely detrimental effects on mens brain chemistry as well, and on the amount of pleasure they get from having s*x. It significantly reduces this, which feeds them back into a cycle of p*rn addiction. It's actually really sad and unhealthy for them, and I wish more men understood this before getting hooked on p*rn.
Effects on women: Long term damage to public image, reputation and career prospects. Once there are explicit images of you out there, you cannot control where they are posted and what happens to them. They could come up when an employer Googles you. They could be used by a vindictive person against you. They could be used by other kids at school to bully your future children. They could be weaponised as revenge porn by a crazed person or an ex. Just because it's behind a paywall and you change your name, doesn't guarantee you control, privacy or anonymity.
@@ryanb01 there is transactional on a shallow level and there is transactional on a deeper level. Shallow relationships have beauty and money as the main points of connection between two people. Deeper relationships involve transactions, yes, but they are based on things that meet your higher order needs such as: understanding, emotional support, shared time together, emotional bonding etc. Those two things are not the same.
The most surprising thing about this whole topic is how surprised people are that sex work is dangerous, and that isn't good for your physical, mental, and social health.
Its because there are so many people on social media that are trying to paint sex work in a positive light and “de-stigmatize” it! “Like, let’s all just ignore the mountains and mountains of research explaining the overwhelmingly negative effects it has on a person so we can get people in the mainstream to stop making sex workers feel bad for doing what they do!!!”
Ex GF had an OF account secretly, I was heart broken.... Her friends and family laughed at me, riddiculed me and told me I was "Old fashioned" "closed minded" and "didn't respect her choices as a woman". I'm still seen as the bad guy in their eyes.... I don't understand boundaries anymore, if I was to send a D**k pic to random women for money online I'd be the bad guy...
This is a very "free for all" society. You are not wrong, I've been called narrow minded myself. Good you found out - you can now move on because WITHOUT A DOUBT these type if people will have unhappy relationships barren of trust. Find someone who deserves you.
She made it secretly keeping it hidden from you because she probably knew it would cause problems and you're the bad guy for dumping her? The mental gymnastics are strong here. Interesting they thought she could make her choices and you couldn't. 🤔
Incels, OnlyFans, redpills, Tinder, etc. all this social/sexual malaise is making me want to go back into academia so I can devote time to studying this. I'm a little afraid for the direction that society is heading in but I'm looking forward to reading all of the social science research that will come out of this. The incel phenomenon and the radicalising influence of online communities have already become popular topics to touch on in undergrad and postgrad research projects.
This is the thing people don't want to acknowledge, our society wants to say that p@rn is good, healthy, and furthers society positively. A lot of research points to how TERRIBLE it is for us, mentally, socially and relationally. It devastates expectations of sex, what real sex looks like, and healthy intimacy in relationships. It's a serious epidemic among the past few generations who have access to it so easily. Not to mention the horrific sex trafficking, slavery, exploitation, and abuse that is RAMPANT in porn. Mainstream media claims it's empowering, *especially* to women. How is it empowering contributing to addictions, creeps getting off on you, getting stalked, harassed, fetishization, and an industry powered by human rights violations? Only fans just gives you the illusion of control. If we as a society can't agree p@rn is objectively bad, then it will never get better imo.
Well said! It really is being treated like its natural and normal, while it hurts literally everybody, even the people who aren't creating it or the men consuming it. So many of my lady friends have watched p@rn with their boyfriends in order to 'bond' or 'see what he really likes' and I'm like No? Hell No??? Seems like even women who've never seen it before in their life are still at its mercy
I don't agree with you, but I see sorta where you are coming from. I don't think porn is some pure evil thing. It is not. Just because some people get piss poor sexual education doesn't mean that porn is the one to blame for their misconception of what sex really is. You learn as you go, and sometimes porn helps you learn some things (techniques, what body parts can look like, etc) and helps you figure out what you are into. Porn does set some unrealistic standards for how "easy" and "clean" sex is. I can compare that to crappy romance or wattpad novels. You can't blame raunchy, steamy novels for portraying toxic relationships and idolizing them, which then somehow ruins women's perception of how relationships should play out. No, that's a reach. Use it as a cautionary tale, not a guide. Same for porn, you need to use the right lens to look at it. It's fictional entertainment. It's not a how-to video.
It’s the financial freedom that has previously been 10x harder for women to gain that is the empowering aspect. There are pros and cons, you just have to decide… what do you care about more? What random men online and people who aren’t in your shoes think of you, or reaching your personal lifestyle goals and having control over your own objectification since as women it’s going to happen to us anyways. Might as well benefit from it. Even if you don’t make an obscene amount, you’re working for yourself and the only product is the version of yourself YOU decide to reveal.
“Porn is objectively bad” it’s not though. That sounds like an opinion informed by years of Puritan conditioning, to which most of us-myself included-have been subjected. Objections on religious grounds have as much to do with controlling other people’s personal choices as they do with “morals”. In some respects, porn is a reaction to sex-negative conditioning. Like any industry, there needs to be a regulatory framework to protect sex workers from exploitation rising from financial, psychological or physical pressure. To the extent that there are unwilling or reluctant participants, that could a symptom of many societal factors, including late stage capitalism I agree that there are real problems surrounding the production of erotica, but shaming people while claiming to be “objective” isn’t going to get us any closer to solving them. Kudos to Patience for walking a fine line while discussing some of the problems and consequences of onlyfans without coming off as judgmental.
Everyone in the same generation as me wants things easy and quick, the fact that being an influencer is the most popular “profession” kids want to be is scary because if everyone is an influencer then no one can be.
Even though being an influencer sounds like fun, imagine if EVERYONE was an influencer. Every single business out there would be out of business because don't influencer just do the influencer thing? Not anything else? I have no idea but that's how I view it.
Young women need to listen to this video. Anybody who asks you for a "picture", whether online and paying for it or in your personal life as a boyfriend is not marriage material. A spouse who truly respects you and loves you for you is an intimate relationship well beyond the physical. I really wish we didn't throw words like "love" around so flippantly that they have lost their true meaning.
The pressure current onlyfans models are putting on young girls to sign up as soon as they turn 18 is also scary. They do it because of a referral program that gives them money for each new person that signs up using their link. Which means they're sugar coating everything about it to these teenagers. It's actually evil
What's it called when a cult leader uses these techniques to get women to pimp and recruit more women for sex work to sell their bodies....is that pimping? The loverboy method? What's the difference between Andrew Tate and whoever runs OnlyFans?
I agree 100% It is horrible. If an adult woman decides to do this it is one thing, but I hate how it is being pushed on these young girls. I HATE the lies, I HATE the lies some of these content creators spread. I mean, if you are a consenting adult and know what you are doing, what you are getting into, well it is your body your choice. If you are, for example, OK with posting all kinds of content online, you are OK with your friends, friends of friends, random guys you interact with on a daily basis, etc. then that is again, your body, your choice. But don't lie and say it is something that it isn't. Don't mislead young girls. Don't say you are going to make millions posting conservative pictures. It is just disgusting....
I just know that these young women will have huge heavy feelings of shame and guilt later on IF they ever change their ways. Women have been let down by society and fed the lie that self objectification and literal prostitution is empowering alongside with the idea that this is somehow normal and feminist and that any men who finds that wrong and wouldn't accept a woman who does that is toxic anyway. They'll have a reeeal bad awakening some day. I feel for them. Barely even adults and already pushed into the s3x industry.
Onlyfans is the best thing that’s happened for women since they were allowed to vote. It’s made more women financially independent than any government initiative ever did. Tell me again how this is bad
@@bigbadslimee nah this comment ain’t it. You fail to realize the many ways society, businesses, and government are disempowering women. The fight against reproductive rights , beauty corporations that lie to their consumers, the male gaze, beauty standards, and so many other elements that truly disempower women. OnlyFans is a business that contributes to disempowerment. Yes it’s easy money but once everyone starts using it. It won’t be so easy anymore with leaks. Who’s gonna wanna pay when you can get them for free? If anything women will get the short end of the stick once again once they have realized that their efforts were for nothing and that at the end of the day, they have let strangers online see a personal side of themselves. Some women enjoy the validation but for the women who expect to get currency. It’s not gonna last forever and they will realize the importance of their body and the time they wasted for the attention of men. The same men who have wives, children, fathers, mothers, siblings, an entire life on this planet. These are everyday men. They’re not just currency. They are real people and p@rnography plays a role in their lives. The effects of p@rn has changed everything. That is the sad truth.
@@waterwithlemon9677 what do reproductive rights have anything to do with onlyfans? I’ve been studying the site and it’s creators for a long time, and I’ve yet to see any long term negatives if any. Leaks do not affect you, in fact it helps, this is a similar pattern you see with music & other forms of media. If you’re attractive people are going to objectify you regardless, OF gives you a chance to monetise it. There are literally no downsides.
At first I really didn’t care, but I think it’s starting to get out of hand. I seen the other day a school mom, son attends elementary school, was suing her district bc teachers and administrators for passing around her photos and videos. On what grounds? Invasion of privacy. The pictures she posted to OF and people bought, invaded her privacy.
I would agree with you except the invasion of her privacy is not the issue. With every pass of the pictures the son's welfare was not being considered and that is a disservice to him.
I think the piracy was a really good point I think most women don't even consider despite this being a huge decision that impacts their lives. I do think the weird parasocial girlfriend experience is unethical but the men partaking in it have to be held accountable, no one is forcing them to pay these women and they have to be a bit delusional to believe that on a website used by millions that they are the one and only for these chicks. The state of our culture is truly very disheartening
thank you for saying this! i see people acting like they are purely victims when in fact they have a choice themselves on whether or not they pay money for a fake girlfriend experience from random girls online or if they meet real people and get help for their issues. everyone involved in onlyfans is a victim of the sexually exploitative culture of our times, but are also perpetrators of it
@@christina8866 agreed! It's not a perfect comparison but women don't complain that their loneliness is being taken advantage of by romance novels, dating sims and boy bands. If someone is a shopaholic no one blames the stores for selling them things, the person has to learn to stop their addiction themselves and it's the same for these men. They have control over how they spend their own money and they're not doing themselves a favor because I don't think a lot of women will respect guys that gave money to an OF girl, lowering their chances of getting a real girlfriend.
@@kowalskiart 100% agree with you, most men will say "women are not accountable" I understand the reason why we say that(not the point here) BUT a lot of us are not accountable either. I know a few guys that were asked to be "models" and have done scenes and still complains about women doing it... So "we" partaking in it, pay for it and encourage it but "we" still blame women. People nowadays, I think likes to be enabled or found excuses for their "misfortune" instead of taking responsabilty of their actions.
@@kowalskiart What these women of only fans are selling are like drugs to these men. Books , dating sims, and boy bands aren't selling that. They are not selling one to one personal fake intimacy that you pay for per post or per month. The dealer needs to stop destroying his / her community by selling these highly addictive substances. It's not an innocent thing for men to try once either because they have high sex drives and can easily get addicted, especially the younger they are, which a lot of adult performers target. So no they don't have control over how they spend their money. If they did, it wouldn't be an addiction. We always shame men for almost everything they do. Obviously this is making them retreat more to these useless service. We need to keep shaming the dealers more because they think it's normal to do this, that is, take advantage of lonely people.
@@kowalskiart It's easy for you to say that, but as a porn addict, I can shed some light on this.... Porn for men isn't like romance books...for few reasons...mainly it's very easy for women to get sex, and intimacy in comparison to men so women can organically get their needs met. 2nd men are very lonely in general....as a guy, I would love a real relationship and many friendships, but as a man I need to put forth real effort into being intersting...etc whereas for women, they get free attention. 3rd, porn is extremely addictive because it deals with a powerful urge in men which is the need for sex and intimacy....since recongizing the addiction for what it truely is, addiction, I have been battling for one year and I still can't break free....why cuz my body naturally craves sex, but despite trying the apps and asking some girls IRL, I didn't have much luck getting a gf, so...yeah.....
I'm someone who never had an OF however, I did work as a stripper for 7 or so years (my mid-20s to early 30s) then on/off as a full-service sex worker in my mid30s then 'tantric bodywork' for 3 years and then tantric dominatrix until 2020 forced me to stop. One of the grateful things about that time was that it forced me to stop so I had a really good look at what I was doing. I have not gone back and it's now 2023. Yes, I'm in my mid-40s now and whilst I do not regret the choices I made I am living with the repercussions of them. You're correct about the pair bonding as I have not had a healthy romantic relationship for a long time. I've almost given up on trying to 'find someone' because whilst all that is in my past - it's a part of me. Every time I see anyone under 30 start an onlyfans especially anyone under 25 I sigh in sadness as they seriously do not understand the digital footprint they're leaving which (as you stated) will affect them for their entire life.
I struggle to sympathise with anyone "choosing" to do OF who then complains about the consequences they end up having to deal with. OF is just inviting determental chaos into yours and your loved ones' lives. Dating or marrying someone who's dabbled on OF is a dealbreaker for me. I value my peace too much.
i have sympathy for them bc of the lies they’ve been fed. as an 18 year old with other people the same age around me, we now have the option to do OF if we want to. due to personal beliefs i never would but i can see how i would be attracted to it if i didn’t have the strong morals i was raised with. girls who have already been sexually exploited (especially at a young age), who often don’t fully understand what happened to them, crave validation esp from men. as a result of their exploitation they grow up feeling confused and thinking it’s normal or okay and end up being sexually promiscuous with low self esteem. i don’t think it’s their fault for going into OF, i think it’s a systemic issue which will not be solved by getting rid of OF by itself. OF is a product of the sexually exploitative society we live in, not the other way around
i’m SO sorry for writing so much, i just have a lot of thoughts on this is as an old friend of mine who i used to be close with recently made an OF, and i feel sorry for her bc it’s not entirely her fault. her exploiting herself is only a result of the exploitation she experienced as a child :(
@@christina8866 I'm 18 and I agree. I had a friend who does sex work on discord and she would pressure the rest of us to do the same. Somehow there's a societal pressure for women to do sex work to "reclaim the power" when it's just objectifying us and we're back to square one.
@@christina8866 Sorry, I no longer buy it's a systemic issue or society at fault for people "choosing" to do OF at a time with so much information warning us of the consequences such as this video or former users saying so on social media. Not everyone joining it have been exploited in the past or have just turned 18. There are many free thinking women in their 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond who are well aware of the consequences, yet are still choosing to listen to these lies and join it inviting chaos into their lives. That is entirely their fault, no one elses and they need to own the consequences as free thinking adults. If we as a society are refusing to get rid of OF as a platform, better to respond by not associating with anyone involved in it, simple. There are plenty of women, as yourself, who heed the warnings and see the chaos it brings. It's a no brainer seeking to date and marry them, than deal with the baggage that an OF person will bring to the relationship. I have a friend who's marriage brokedown & family torn apart because his wife chose to do OF against his wishes. So, no I have little to no sympathy for anyone choosing to do OF.

These days words don't have the same meaning anymore Like being a racist, toxic masculinity, homophobe, toxic fan, diversity and finally female empowerment
My views on sex work in general recently have changed a bit drastically. I’ve realized through listening to various podcast and doing research that as long as sex work/porn type content exists women will be hurt by it. I used to say “Why can’t women profit off what men have been profiting off for years?” But I now realize it’s better if NOBODY profited off of objectifying women (or people in general to be honest.) Because as long as it is acceptable people will get hurt. There’s actually a lot of this type of content all across the mainstream websites as well as only fans that IS NOT CONSENSUAL. I’m actually surprised Patience didn’t talk about that. If you support those websites by watching them or becoming part of the system, you are supporting r*pe culture. I was never addicted to porn, but would occasionally watch it when my imagination wasn’t doing it for me. But I since have ceased because even porn (like some only fans content) looks consensual you can never know for 100% that it was. (Even if the model is ALONE!) so let this be a warning to everyone. (Everyone is insane is one podcast I’ve started watching, highly recommend)
There is also the fact that they have set a precedence they now seize the right to complain about sexualisation or beauty standards in the media because and I quote " as long as its consented to , no one is being harmed and they are paying for it Willingly so it has not social consequences " i can make this argument for comic books , video games , anime , cartoon , manga , movies , series , and any form of media that sexualises women and i cant choose not to care if they like or thinks it promotes misogyny and unrealistic beauty standards , even the ones they hate , I could simply use the argument of " if its okay in real life , its okay here
Agree with pretty much everything you said except about it “objectifying women.” These women are WILLINGLY creating accounts and uploading content to it. No one is objectifying then except themselves. What about the men out there who have no choice but to be garbage men, or to climb into septic tanks every day? They are truly objectified, truly exploited. They don’t have the option of uploading nude photos online to make money, so they have to put their lives and their health on the line every day. But we can’t point that out can we.
@@outlaster3431 see the reason why people say it only applies to sex workers is because ideally sex workers choose to objectifiy themselves. so it's okay, if the make them nothing but meat puppets for the sexual gratification of others. but if I decide to draw/design write an objectified women, I am a bad guy. because I am not a woman. I do not have the right to "degrade" women. even if those women are not real. essentially it boils down, if the women actually benefits from being objectified or not. if she benefits, it's empowering. if it's not, it's mysoginy. it's the patriarchy or men trying to control women. it's bad.
@lJ_K the issue they get to portray men how they want heck some of them even sexualise men how they want in any movie or series , take twilight or vampire dairies , I get you are being sarcastic but like they don't get to do that anymore
@@outlaster3431 not really trying to be sarcastic. that's how they see it. objectification is only a good thing, if the woman does it to herself. but at the same time, she is allowed to accuse any and all men of being creepy, if they objectify them, despite the woman being clearly okay showing herself in a rather "unflattering" light. Women are allowed to degrade men. Look at society. ask people what are women good for, then follow up what are men good for? You could even make the question more basic and ask "Are women/men important?" There are videos out that ask those question. and it's sad to see that boys are being raised by reminding them how useless they are and women are better than them anyway. and people wonder why Andrew Tate is popular, why the redpill is popular, why passport bros have become a trend. Why MGTOW has become a trend... The story shared about the guy met the girl with the gfe resonated with me a bit. I used to be involved with lots of sex workers when I was younger. I was lonely and didn't see my value as a man. There was this one girl that I became involved with for a while. I was pretty much her whale. She convinced me that she was an orphan and that her grandma was all she had. Apparently, her grandma died a couple of months ago so she was all alone. This made me want to really help her, but not just for sexual reasons. I grew really close to her and I felt like I had purpose. There was even a man harassing her in her apartment complex because he learned what she did for a living. He was trying to blackmail her for sex. I went ahead and paid for a new apartment for her so that she could relocate. After she quit sex work, I was the only one who was there for her so she came clean. She left her parents because she said her dad was controlling. She had a complete loving family and left it all behind. She told me that her manager said to lie to me about being an orphan to get more money out of me. It fucking worked. She was mostly full of shit. The truth pissed me off. I wanted to throw her tiny ass out of a window for leading me on for months. A day or two after she came clean, I told her that I am done helping her. I could not stand to help anyone that lies about things like that. Funny thing was she said she regretted telling me the truth because it caused me to leave. She would have kept me around for ages if she could. I seriously wonder what she started to do for money after I left.
It’s weird that she didn’t say she regretted lying to you in the first place. That proves that she doesn’t feel guilty and she’s probably doing it again.
I agree completely with the loneliness of people and exploiting that. It's not just men either. We live in a day and age that marriage isn't a priority. It's sex and wanting money. People are loneliest in a social media age. it's a weird day and age we live in...
Marriage is a scam and an old fashioned way of thinking that basically enforces the idea of selling women to men. I mean please, your father literally “gives you away” to your husband at a wedding. Why should marriage be peoples priority? I see everyone saying OF isn’t empowering, well, neither is marriage.
Everyone has their own opinions regarding sex work in general, and there are great arguments to support those who are for and against sex work. One hill I will die on though is that if someone watches porn *OR* engages in casual sex, but also shames sex workers, then they're a hypocrite...
I agree with that last sentence. I strongly oppose sex work, and I also strongly believe that anyone who shames sex workers while simultaneously consuming their content is a major hypocrite. That being said, being a hypocrite doesn't make your argument any less invalid. I could be a serial killer who claims that murder is wrong, and although I would be a hypocrite for that, my statement about murder wouldn't be any less true.

You are absolutely on point about the ethics of OF. As a man that never had a girlfriend for 27 years, never had the experience of a kiss, or a warm hug, of a romantic connection and feeling to be desired, I can tell you that loneliness and rejection can hit so hard, that it can turn some men crazy. Afterwards they will just deny the truth and deceive themselves that their transactional parasocial relationship is real. I was JUST wanting a video like this after I watched a video yesterday where, once again, some dudes were complaining about how life is sooo much harder for men becasue women can allegedly just take their clothes off and make a thousand dollars. Just completely overlooking all the women who work long shifts at the same jobs men do. Overlooking their neighbors and family members who would never do sex work. Completely ignoring all the women who try their hardest to get into sex work only to spend 12 hours a day exposing themselves to the world for pennies. Saying women have it easier because of cam workers is like saying black men have it easier because of rappers. The exceptions should never be considered the rule...
This is not an accurate comparison, because even if only a small perc of womn do OF, the majority of women still benefit from the male sex drive (and just being viewed in a positive light when compared to men) in general. You're only acknowledging one small sliver of all the benefits women have, and completely disregarding the rest.
Absolutely. Ten years ago, a woman could be a stripper, make 1000 a night, and leave zero pictures or videos behind. Now women are being coerced culturally to do more and more for less and less.
I use to do lyft and uber while in community college and as a result I talked to a lot of strippers and prostitutes. And one of the things I loved about the job was being able to talk to such a wide range of people. Anyways something I learned from these girls was that a lot of their clients were more interested in emotional stuff. The strippers told me that the girls who got the most dances were not overly aggressive sexually but would more build a rapport with the guy through his interest. I would never ever date a girl who has been a stripper, but I will say they are some of the most fun girls to talk to just because how well many of them understand guys.
I was a stripper for a while in my 20s . I didn’t do the aggressive/ law of averages thing pretty much all girls did (where they just go up to each and every guy and mechanically ask them to get a dance or vip bc eventually someone will) but had a realistic down to earth approach. I was always fascinated by the different types of people I met and what they did for a living and truly enjoyed the conversation. I think you get what you give if that makes sense. So the majority of my customers were cool, friendly, respectful and so many just wanted to have a conversation with an attractive woman or someone to really listen to them, to hear them. I have had guys pay hours for in the vip with me just to lay down next to me and run their fingers through my hair or order food and just share a meal with me. Don’t get me wrong I’ve had plenty of crappy experiences such as one that just hurt me, made me so incredibly sad and angry at the same time was with a young man who came in with his friends. It was his bachelor party. He got a vip with me. He cried ACTUAL huge crocodile tears when I informed them that no he would not and could not “just stick it in for a minute”. He snot nosed cried and begged. I told him that I am a stripper he just met on bourbon street no less and he was trying to have unprotected s€x with me days before his wedding and that he should care more about his wife than that and he just said oh I can tell you’re not dirty. Even after I told him I have men that ask me this every single night. That was just pathetic and depressing really.
It was really telling for me to hear one girl say, "why didn't anyone tell me how bad this could be for me." Like wow, have we fallen that far that even mothers don't teach their daughters that prostitution is wrong/immoral/unhealthy??
Such teaching would be considered conservative, old fashioned and restrictive for women which is against the so called feminist agenda which is to make every woman a slut
@@konyvnyelv.because they don't like it. There's literally *thousands* of ex military that are traumatized by their experience in the army. Because killing other humans and watch your friends die Infront of you is incredibly bad for your mental health it turns out. But you don't hear many people saying calling military service immoral/bad for your health.
mine never did! but luckily for me i made that call. I do wish I'd had more guidance growing up though. We didn't have a good relationship so a lot of things were hard learned lessons. I hope I can do better
I personally think OnlyFans (Bascially online prositution), Porn and sex work in general are not to be celebrated. There is nothing redeeming about it & I just don't understand how you can try and justify it. Like its their choice at the end of the day but I just can't wrap my head around that decision.
I went on a date with a girl I had a huge crush on in high school, I knew she had an only fans, but she asked me out so I said yes when she asked me out on a date, I've only been asked out by a girl twice in my life, every other relationship I've been in I've had to initiate the relationship. Anyway, the date went great, she is gorgeous, however I know my guys who regularly watch her content, and she advertises he OF on all her social media. After the date she told me she was interested in a "serious" relationship with me, though i think looks wise she is a 9/10, I said no. I just couldn't help but know everyone I know has seen her in the buff doing solo "sessions" and even a fee "scenes" with a previous BF. After I rejected her she blasted me all over social media and began making up lies about, going as far as calling me gay. Moral of the story, men, stay away from OF women, don't watch their content, definitely don't date them.
OF unfortunately only reveals the rot of relationship failures of our society. It's a symptom of the desperate men who can't get any relationship at all and women who have lost all self control.
Thats why its important to reign in these men and put them on the right. If you know it is women they desire. Help them get laid. If they are sad. Help them get laid. If they are lonely. Help them get laid. Because there is only 2 options for these men if OF were to disappear overnight; either they off themselves or commit heinous acts to chase that feeling of pleasure.
@twilight if OnlyFans didn’t exist, men would just use PornHub premium. You know the site that has hosted more Cp, rapes videos, revenge porn and pedophilia than you can count
I blame us all for being stupid and giving into it. This is a collective issue where we all are at fault for giving into the powerful people who have set up these services.
just because men give it attention its women out there that want to use that... women are just as much at fault as the men using it. thats like blaming the drug dealer for your drug abuse.
@@Riprie You know what… yes, we should blame the men who are supporting the onlyfans services. Sometimes addicts need to be held accountable for their stupidity. You people in the west baby your adults so much thats why your society starts being more and more of a joke 🙄 Hold the stupids accountable!
THANK YOU! I've been saying this ever since the OF craze started and it feels like I've been screaming into a void. I keep telling people the negative consequenses of selling yourself online, that easy money isn't worth ruining your reputation and self-worth, and how it's really self-objectification, but got dragged by people saying "It's empowering!!!" or "She's capitalizing off of losers, she's making more than you".
this is your first video that i watched and I'd like to applaud you for such a nice community you've created here. there's men actually blaming men for the s*x industry and just ppl being overall thoughtful about the topic is just so refreshing.
@@casperryborg4869 not everyone who consumes porn is anl sex addict and how tf did u "assume" it? dont flatter me bc sounds like YOU are a genius, urself
i honestly agree with everything about this video from the beginning to the end. the way we glamorize things such as onlyfans without taking the physical and psychological risks into consideration just because it’s easy to make so much money is a good example of what’s wrong in our society. we’re not able to see things just as transactional with the way we’ve ruined dating and overall human interaction. i LOVE your videos and my mom even has subscribed! 💗
The award for absolute worst timed ad/ad break goes San Diego tourism: "in more darker cases, Only Fans subscribers have stalked Only Fans models, and in extreme cases even murdered them..." "🎶If you're happy and you know it clap your hands 🎶"
Back in them days, all this was frowned upon(deem shameful), now everything is encouraged, embraced, and celebrated. It's such a sad reality we find ourselves in.
There's a reason why selling your body has always been shamed throughout history and all cultures. It's easy money, but it's disgusting at the same time.
These are all things I tell people and they just tell me I’m misogynistic and i just think ok but actually no, i’m trying to get people to understand that while its very glamorized, it’s also very dangerous and often, like the woman near the end, they say it wasnt worth it. I hope that people start to see that this isnt a path they should take. Like she said, you’re likely being googled by companies and they may not hire you if thats what they find.
It’s incredibly frustrating, only fans and sex work is extremely misogynistic and it frustrates me how some women nowadays thinks it’s female empowerment how they can sell their body on the market like a piece of meat for strange men to jerk off to, which also leaves men to viewing women nothing but business transactions for their sexual pleasure and not like a respected human being
Thank you for the interesting video on this. It’s very unfortunate that more and more young teens and children will inevitably be exposed to this kind of content through social media and celebrities hyping it online. I think a big part of this is how parents don’t monitor their children close enough when online or give them internet access from an early age
If that onlyfans models showed her key at all on any image on any social media site somewhere, you can use 3D printing to cut yourself a key that would work perfectly with whatever locks. For anyone reading please do not show your keys online for any reason
Wow I love how you hit the nail on the head! I have a few friends who spend hundreds a month on onlyfans for the girlfriend experience but it is so true. These women exploit the loneliness of men for profit which is why most men are disgusted by onlyfans.
Also it has a bad effect on men as well, sometimes the effects can cause a situation to get dangerous. (Cases of stalking and stuff of that nature) onlyfans is really bad for everyone involved
@@Heymickeyyousofine I agree 100 percent. It has made those friends completely unwilling to find a girl because they feel safe just watching only fans and not getting themselves out there
if people glorify onlyfans and we normalize people compete doing sexual acts for money, snuff genre will become normal eventually. probably psychos (the cold blooded ones) would be proud sharing their bloody sexual acts online one day and people would be okay with it.
@ApplesWithPeanutButter that shit is already floating around the dark web. and with sex positivity comes also "kink" positivity. I mean, the amount of women who fantasize about being graped is genuinely surprising, when you read numbers on it. you would think with how scared women say the idea of being graped is, that only a small percentage of people would have them
Am only 30 seconds in right now... but I feel like, once again, we're about to be on the same page here edit: Yeah... especially the 'Trauma' section there, I do know people who have experienced these things. Thank you for that, I feel like it is too overlooked still today. Also, I have to respect that girl in blue who talked about the things she "subjected herself to". It can be so easy to blame others, but also impossible to heal without being able to recognize yourself in the scenario and take responsibility for the behaviour in yourself. Sounds like hopefully her therapy is going okay
I'd have to be put in a scenrio where an ex-OnlyFans model and I were getting close enough to consider a relationship. One thing I have learned through dating is that you have to be able to separate past behaviours from the present.. but I have also learned that entering a relationship with a previously free-spirited woman (choosing nice words here) comes with insane levels of anxiety and insecurity that I personally do not want to put myself through ever again. So on the face level, no.
Thank you for speaking on this. Many people join in not thinking of the repercussions that this will have on their life and society as a whole. Everything is so perverse now, it’s not safe for children and definitely not healthy for the mentality of society
The main issue is the culture of high results with minimum effort... people want a shortcut for everything and do not value time and hard work in order to achieve things slowly. They want the results (and they want them fast), but not the process of reaping the fruit of your labour
All of these negative consequences are VERY PREDICTABLE....I don't want to hear "If I only knew...or I wish someone told me"...EVERYONE TOLD YOU WHAT WOULD HAPPEN....you just didn't want to listen because you didn't care about the consequences, you just wanted the easy money....these chicks have no right to complain about the consequences of their actions, they knew exactly what they were getting themselves into....
Gonna show this to my husband. He's not dumb enough to pay for only fans when he can get all that content for free on Reddit. BUT he seems to think he's progressive/feminists by defending sex work, including OnlyFans. So I wanna show him that he can stop lying to himself and me about the ethics of sex work. He seems to think it's a victimless business model if it's legitimized lol. Like "hunny NO WOMAN comes out of sex work unscathed."

@@mayacokie4811 I appreciate that. My opinion of porn hasn't always been bad, I enjoyed it too at one point. But I've come to find how awful it is for the women once all is said and done, and I can't enjoy it anymore.
If you're doing Only Fans or some other kind of sex work, I don't believe you really have the right to complain about being objectified. You Objectified yourself.
To me, when I was looking for a potential wife, my thought is would I be ok if my daughter became like her. The answer is, there's no way I would want my daughter posting photos or videos that are sexual in content anywhere online. I may have an exception if she desperately needed money to save a family member's life but she stopped immediately after she saved enough.
Chris Rock says that once you have a daughter, that's your number one mission in life. "Keep your daughter off the pole!" I don't imagine he feels more charitable towards OnlyFans.
@@paulatamaramohamad5794 I agree that there are too many fathers not involved in their children's lives which is why it's so important for women out there to not make babies with men until they are sure those men would make good fathers.
it's "better" than what we've had throughout history. as a result, more people will take this path. There are no shortcuts but because it's more expedient than the past so it looks like a cuttable corner. To those who need it, cheers
What disturbs me the most is when women who have children, also have Onlyfans!! It will only hurt your children and they very likely will get bullied in school when their classmates finds out.
As always, a very informative video. Thank you. As to the women who go onto Only Fans -- Again, this is indicative of people who go into something with their eyes wide open, planning to sexualise themselves for money, and then grumble and complain that they're being harassed online by sleazy men. It's so typical of humans in general: They eagerly participate in an activity of some kind - usually knowing full well the consequences to their participation and/or action - then act shocked and put out when things go sideways. I can understand that in the very beginning, at the very start of this website, a lot of people might not have realised the impact and consequence of their activity. However, IF you've planned to get on this platform to deliberately show parts of your body, or to act sexual and the like, unless you've been living in a cave, you know that you'd be in for harassment and unwanted attention; and that there are a lot of creepers out there who could be dangerous. Even someone like Bella Thorne or, especially, Bhad Babie, have no grounds to complain if they get unwelcome attention from strange or mentally disturbed individuals. Men and women who do decide to open an account on Only Fans really need to be prepared for, and to understand, the risks they take when exposing themselves (pun intended)to all sorts.
Where there are men willing to pay for these services, there will always be women trying to get into that industry. The funny thing is the really big to medium sized creators aren't even the ones communicating with their fans. I watched a documentary or a short about these men who run management service where they reply to fans on the behalf of only fan creators who are too busy ti respond ti their subscribers messages. Like bffr

Soon deepfakes will also allow men to invent women for LonelyFans and as men know better what men want they could outperform most women and then it can turn into a farm for Chinese scammers like most dating sites.
It's easy to point a finger at people offering the gf experience and say "hey, that's morally wrong", yet also equally easy to lose sight of the fact that large businesses have been operating on the same principle for much longer. Both cases seek to reify basic human needs into merely something to profit from; OnlyFans popularity just is an indication of this phenomenon embedding deep into our society on an individual level. One can say they won't support OnlyFans creators, but it's hard to tell if even this will be eventually accepted and continue to permeate into society with time...
this is so good. I've been saying this for a while- and it's such an important and ever developing conversation. Thank you for speaking out, from another young woman.
I clicked on this video so fast because I find this topic so fascinating. Overall great comprehensive video. I don’t think people would have a problem with criticism of this topic per se, it’s just people are acutely tuned into whether a critique is in good faith or not. And also the position from which the critique is coming from, someone in favor of the subject being discussed or against. Overall if someone is forthcoming about their position, accurate in their statements and research, and respectful of the topic or people being discussed, then you should be fine. That being said, as someone who is very pro-sex work and advocates for the protections of the people who are in the industry, I am very curious as to where you got your research from regarding the mental health of sex workers and the effects the industry may have on its practitioners.
This is something that has been heavily studied, you should look into it it's really interesting. Some data even shows sex workers have higher rates of PTSD than war veterans. Based on her reference of Perry, I'd assume she's also seen a lot of her work. This is something Perry talks about a lot. she's a feminist who has worked with many of these women and speaks out about the harms of sex work and p*rn on women. And the videos of the women shown here illustrate her point
@@Debziiie thanks, I will definitely look into it because now I have so many questions. Ranging from is it the sex work itself or is it an issue with the industry? Or perhaps societal taboos contributing to a poor environment. After all, much of the sex industry is illegal or under the table, so I doubt safe business practices and a healthy working culture is prioritized. Not to mention the shame many may feel.
First I want to say that its great that you made that distinction between discussing/analysing a topic and condoning it or not: we should ALWAYS criticise the things that we support and look at the things we despise with nuance. Secondly, I agree that Only Fans and the sex work industry is toxic and exploitative, and it does take advantage of several things in our broken society. HOWEVER, I am very confused to see that people (especially right leaning folks) love to focus on this industry alone when there are several other lines of work that ALSO put people bodies on display for the enjoyment of the consumer. Models, sport athletes, actors etc. These are all professions that profit from the serotonin they cause on the viewers and they are EQUALLY as exploitative. People like to focus on sex work because they hate to see an industry that is thriving on women having certain power over their use of their own sexuality (of course I respect peoples values on intimacy but just because sex work is not for you does not mean others shouldn’t pursue its services. Now, of course I agree with your critiques, sex work is a dangerous and exploitative line of work but it is so foolish to bring up these case of previous Only Fans workers being harassed and killed when that happens in the professions that I previously mentioned. John Lennon got murdered by a crazy fan and countless singers also get stalked by fans with a dangerous parasocial relationship to them: why are you not criticising the music industry? Most works are exploitative and “hurtful” to their workers. I am an aspiring doctor, they spend thousands in med school and work long hour shifts and sometimes don’t sleep for days in order to bring satisfaction to patients (I KNOW sex and health are not the same things tho): they are putting their economic and mental health at risk. If a crazy guy killed an only fans worker its kind of his fault, not the fault of sex work as a whole. IDK, it feels like you are lacking a bit of nuance in those areas. Think if your views about the value of sexually active women (especially the ones profiting of it) are not making you a little biased in this topic. I hope this comment, at least brought some more perspectives into your argument.
you have just insulted my whole country (Brazil) 😆. We are practically born in flip-flops here. There isn't a house that doesn't have one. It is extremely versatile, serves as footwear, goalposts, mosquito killer, mother's teleguided weapon, and is even given to guests at wedding parties (especially for women to rest their feet because of the high heels). The only danger is leaving it upside down 😆. If you love your mother, of course...
Goalposts n teleguided weapons is most relatable for me. You can't always find big stones for the goalposts so, the flipflops are there to save the day
I'm happy to have found your site. You're very well informed and interesting to listen to. I like that you're not angry or hostile like some of the popular sites. Also I'm glad you're not political.
So I do group, for adult video addicts. I had a pretty wild twenties and one thing we discussed was how things considered taboo in 70s and 80s was practically normalized by my generation. Having seen some of the more recent stuff back when I was still viewing I worry about that becoming normalized, because the adult film industry will again up their game, and another generation may normalize that as well. Let's be honest we've all been teenagers and watched it, when you view that regularly and are not having honest discussions about love your ideas get warped
OF is like a digital scarlet letter. Once it is out there, it is there for the world to see. Plus, there is a high risk of stalkers and broken relationships.
The saddest part is these girls are joining as soon as they’re 18. Their brains are not done cooking and they’re already making a life long decision. As a dad it makes me feel so bad that all these girls didn’t have a father there to make life safe for them so they didn’t feel like they needed to resort to this. I have a son but if I had a daughter I would just not let her go through that. Please girls respect yourselves. This culture of hypersexuality and vanity isn’t natural it isn’t making anyone happy. It’s leaving girls with self esteem issues and a horrible opinion of men and men with lust issues and a horrible opinion of women and then no one finds love. Let’s stop with this mentality that we don’t need love and we don even want it and being alone we’re better. We all want love. Children need parents that show them a strong foundation, of commitment and selflessness. People who want to take care of each other and make the world safe. If we all had a home like this a lot of problems would be fixed in the world. This content is not healthy. Porn has ruined sex for a lot of people, ruined love for a lot of people, etc. as much as we wanna be progressive and accepting in society some things have proven counterproductive. I hope that everyone starts to drive away from it and starts experiencing real sex. Having good faithful meaningful relationships and most important valuing yourselves more! You’re all special and deserve love and respect.
Thank you so much for your common sense approach to everything and for saying the things the rest of us are scared to say. Also people who wear flip flops when they’re not at the beach or at a pool…. Yeah… no… you’re absolutely right 😅
I think all that you said was relevant, and agreeable. The only point I'd like to make is speculating on the murder. It sounds like shifting the blame onto her and then straight after talking about the exploitation of men with the girlfriend experience seems to hone that further. I get this was probs my unintentional however seeing domestic violence and being from it myself makes me feel that conversations around it are often shifted to the victim, not the perpetrator.
Trying to understand the likely head space of the person who committed the murder isn't victim blaming. As they said at the beginning of the video offering a explanation isn't a justification. And it's true if you engage in this act of pretending you care about someone and love them, you put yourself at risk of some crazy people taking you seriously. We have to know the potential risks of certain behaviours
I just love all of your comments and views. You come the closest to how I feel about everything. Make some merch and girl, I will buy it. Lots of love ❤❤❤🎉
Whenever I see the news or someone talk about these issues, I come here to this channel to be brought back down to earth and it seriously calms my anxiety
I personally know a girl that left her job and went off and did OnlyFans from June to about October 2022, she showed me her OF account in September and it had 14 grand in it. She stopped after that, but you type her name in on Google and yeah her images come straight up, she seems a bit put off by it all now and is actually trying to pursue a career again but looks to be a bit hard seeing as the digital foot print is out there. From what I do see in these kinds of women they all deep down have issues with themselves the most and I guess when people are paying to see them they get a satisfaction from it, but what I did also see is that these women then had to put on this completely different personality that their viewers would think is them normal every day 24/7. I could understand why that would take a toll on someone that would already be suffering with issues about themselves.
Yeah as I was talking about relationships and family depending on where you're coming from people aren't going to be as supportive of your endeavors. and like I said before some people find it hard to date onlyfans models mainly because of jealousy as you mentioned
Thank you for talking about this. We need more young woman to do so. I'm also just putting this here as a reminder :) Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 CSB
In our free countries, there are consequences to your actions. The problem arises when people refuse to accept responsibility for selling their bodies online and expecting to be respected.
Never thought I would see a time when sex work was pushed as a desirable profession for young women. Glad you called out the comments, which is a huge problem. There has been a definite move to squash debate and free thinking.
It's not just Onlyfans.... It's a culture that's okay with it and even encourages it... I don't think people realize the precedent that sets for their children and the generations to come. I cannot imagine what future generations are going to say when they talk about this era. Jesus.....
this 100%. onlyfans is just a symptom

Effects on women: mess up their social life (short and long term)
Effects on men: mess up the way interact with women
Effects on both: view *EVERY* relationship as transactional
*feel free to add to the list*
Effects in society: devalues sex and sexuality for both genders
Every relationship is transactional though deep down
@@ryanb01 there is transactional on a shallow level and there is transactional on a deeper level.

Since social media has become a thing I bet anthropologists and sociologists are having a field day
Psychologists too. There are a lot of studies about how social media affects our mental health.
Omg forreal
So true
Oh it’s booming in college classes for sure
I've never bought into it and when I voice my opinion I'm "frigid". It's been normalised but it does huge damage.
To the extent that there are unwilling or reluctant participants, that could a symptom of many societal factors, including late stage capitalism
I agree that there are real problems surrounding the production of erotica, but shaming people while claiming to be “objective” isn’t going to get us any closer to solving them.

👏👏👏 big 🚩 people asking for "pictures" get automatically blocked.
The pressure current onlyfans models are putting on young girls to sign up as soon as they turn 18 is also scary. They do it because of a referral program that gives them money for each new person that signs up using their link. Which means they're sugar coating everything about it to these teenagers. It's actually evil
Sounds like an MLM
What's it called when a cult leader uses these techniques to get women to pimp and recruit more women for sex work to sell their bodies....is that pimping? The loverboy method? What's the difference between Andrew Tate and whoever runs OnlyFans?
Exactly, the amount of people that subscribed to Danielle Bregoli's onlyfans that she launched like the day she became 18 is actually so gross

So "we" partaking in it, pay for it and encourage it but "we" still blame women.

One of the grateful things about that time was that it forced me to stop so I had a really good look at what I was doing. I have not gone back and it's now 2023. Yes, I'm in my mid-40s now and whilst I do not regret the choices I made I am living with the repercussions of them.
Whats even worse is people are willingly buying that meat
But what if you’re having fun? What is so wrong about that? You don’t see male porn stars dealing with as much stigma

Women are allowed to degrade men. Look at society. ask people what are women good for, then follow up what are men good for?
You could even make the question more basic and ask "Are women/men important?"
There are videos out that ask those question. and it's sad to see that boys are being raised by reminding them how useless they are and women are better than them anyway.

Thank you for talking about this Xina
I use to do lyft and uber while in community college and as a result I talked to a lot of strippers and prostitutes. And one of the things I loved about the job was being able to talk to such a wide range of people. Anyways something I learned from these girls was that a lot of their clients were more interested in emotional stuff. The strippers told me that the girls who got the most dances were not overly aggressive sexually but would more build a rapport with the guy through his interest.
I would never ever date a girl who has been a stripper, but I will say they are some of the most fun girls to talk to just because how well many of them understand guys.
Is it weird that I have respect for strippers, prostitutes and even pron actors over of models?

Agreed
Thats why its important to reign in these men and put them on the right. If you know it is women they desire. Help them get laid. If they are sad. Help them get laid. If they are lonely. Help them get laid.
Because there is only 2 options for these men if OF were to disappear overnight; either they off themselves or commit heinous acts to chase that feeling of pleasure.

I was literally wondering when the next Patience video is gonna drop earlier in the afternoon. Good to have you back!!! 😅😅
Im a guy and I blame men for onlyfans popularity. If it wasn't for men giving all the attention to it, it wouldn't boom like it did.
Yes, blame the addicts for the drug trafficking.
just because men give it attention its women out there that want to use that... women are just as much at fault as the men using it. thats like blaming the drug dealer for your drug abuse.
@@Riprie You know what… yes, we should blame the men who are supporting the onlyfans services. Sometimes addicts need to be held accountable for their stupidity. You people in the west baby your adults so much thats why your society starts being more and more of a joke 🙄

THANK YOU! I've been saying this ever since the OF craze started and it feels like I've been screaming into a void. I keep telling people the negative consequenses of selling yourself online, that easy money isn't worth ruining your reputation and self-worth, and how it's really self-objectification, but got dragged by people saying "It's empowering!!!" or "She's capitalizing off of losers, she's making more than you".
this is your first video that i watched and I'd like to applaud you for such a nice community you've created here. there's men actually blaming men for the s*x industry and just ppl being overall thoughtful about the topic is just so refreshing.

i honestly agree with everything about this video from the beginning to the end. the way we glamorize things such as onlyfans without taking the physical and psychological risks into consideration just because it’s easy to make so much money is a good example of what’s wrong in our society. we’re not able to see things just as transactional with the way we’ve ruined dating and overall human interaction. i LOVE your videos and my mom even has subscribed! 💗

No. Porn and Onlyfans is what's misogynistic ! Tell them that!!

Having onlyfans and a promiscuous reputation for a girl is like having a criminal record for a guy, eventually the impact will catch up with you.
These women exploit the loneliness of men for profit which is why most men are disgusted by onlyfans.

edit: Yeah... especially the 'Trauma' section there, I do know people who have experienced these things.

What disturbs me the most is when women who have children, also have Onlyfans!! It will only hurt your children and they very likely will get bullied in school when their classmates finds out.
This should be considered child abuse.

The fact that we have to educate young women why prostitution is not something to brag about is so sad...
I have heard The Authentic Observer quote Louise Perry. Perhaps someone I will have to look into. Thanks for the video!
you have just insulted my whole country (Brazil) 😆.

Totally agree
Trying to understand the likely head space of the person who committed the murder isn't victim blaming. As they said at the beginning of the video offering a explanation isn't a justification. And it's true if you engage in this act of pretending you care about someone and love them, you put yourself at risk of some crazy people taking you seriously.
